*Disclaimer - If you have never been to Universal you may want to skip this thread. Some ride spoilers are ahead.

We are heading back to Universal next week and taking my parents along for their first visit. The kids were talking about how great it will be to do this and that with Grandma and Grandpa. It got us to thinking of all the quirky, funny things we do when we ride certain rides and see certain shows. Here are a few that crack us up! Please share yours too!

When we get in line to see the Gory Make-Up Show we play, "guess the lucky lady" The last two times we have been dead right! We also seat ourselves in the exact seat in front to get the "blood" on us.

One of the kids favorite things is to look around at unsuspecting people as the spiders wrap around your feet at Shrek. For some reason this never gets old!

Boarding Popeye and asking if anyone knows if you get wet on this ride. The kids love to act surprised. Meanwhile my husbands pockets are lined with quarters spraying the rafts as they float by him.

Getting the front row on JP and ducking as we hit water.

Unloading from Spiderman and asking everyone where we can see our picture! Other guests will help you look! :rotfl:

Picking crazy funny names at ET.

Having endless conversations with Lucy and Marilyn and never once do they falter from their character!

Sitting back and watching the many people unable to operate the lockers at MIB. This is only funny if I'm not waiting online behind one!

Standing in the tower spraying the water gun at people below at Curious George. A newbie comes and stands next to you and is clueless to why you walked away when the bells sound. Laughing our butts off when they get soaked.

Same place Curious George ball pit area. Filling a net bag with balls and handing it to a little kid that's having a hard time collecting their own.

I have lots more but I want to hear some of yours! Please share. :)

Things that came to mind from our last trip...

Thing #1 ;) FOTL

Thing #2 sleeping in courtesy of thing #1:banana:

hope to pick up some good ideas here!

i got a kick out of picking a suessical charactar on the merry go ground, so hard to pick...all very cool.

Since I'm not as evil :maleficen as you are, my "happy" things are more mundane. :lmao:

My DH, DS & I were actually talking about what we enjoyed most at UO last night. Good timing with this question. :)

The ride that always makes me smile is ET. I just love it. My guys get their enjoyment by giving fake names & making it a competition to see which one catches the TM off guard.

I also love the whimisical feeling I get on Cat in the Hat.

I love walking to dinner at night, & having them already asking where we're eating the next night.

I love seeing the enthusiasm my son exhibits when getting all dressed up for dinner, & seeing him act all adult like.

Seeing my hubby's slightly green face after multiple rides on Hulk with our son. Then dragging him on the Cat & the Hat, which always makes him queasy. (Okay, so maybe I'm a tad bit evil. hehe)

I love being at HRH & having our son say out of the blue, "Hey lets go ride Hulk & Dr. Doom." My guys can run over & get their quick fix, then get back to the resort by the time I'm ready for dinner.

That's it for now. Don't want to short circuit my brain, by using it too much. I'll try to think of more later.

I have real happy, sappy things too! You are right these are my evil happy things! :lmao:

So far I do very much like both of your 'happy' things. :cloud9:

Arriving early and riding in the front of Hulk and Dueling Dragons.

When I'm by myself, I'll get in row 2 of the coasters, and if the front seat is open, I'll take it.

Happy hour.

On arrival day, sitting in a reclining chair outside of Margaritaville, sipping on a margarita purchased at the outside vendor, while people watching.

That feeling in my tummy at the top of Dr. Doom!
Walking up the single rider in in MIB
The fading lights and gloomy music in the Mummy express line
Mythos potato bread
Croissant breakfast sandwiches at Boulangerie
Scanning my finger at the gates and looking into the park
The waterfalls scene during Shrek
The smell of ET
"AND YOU!!!" at Spidey
The splash in the boathouse on Jaws
The little store at POA that sells clothing
Squirting people on Dudley
The new express entrances on Dudley and Popeye's
Time, the ever flowing river
Galaxy Defender
Picking out the "volunteer" at the Horror Makeup Show
The new playtex addition at Horror Makeup Show

Don't have many to offer, but the one thing I LOVE to do is to sit by the lagoon in between the lost continent and Seuss landing and watch the hulk...

seeing the photos of people from Jurassic park

the feeling when going down dudley do right's final fall

being the one NOT getting soaked on the water rides

getting a buggy all to ourselves on MIB (great for photos!!!)

watching people get frustrated while looking for their lockers (I know OP put opening their lockers, but this is just as enjoyable)

unable to do this anymore, but watching people come off of BTTF looking green (and that's why I bring an antinauseant!!)

and that's about all I have....

sitting in a reclining chair outside of Margaritaville, sipping on a margarita purchased at the outside vendor, while people watching.

I absolutely second that one:thumbsup2 The outside window at Margaritaville makes a wicked Perfect Margarita! That is DH's #1 favorite thing to do.

For me it's going over early on a Sunday and riding MIB over and over before it gets crowded

Watching my boys interact with Spidey
Sitting thru Barney....again
Going on the Mummy with my oldest DS, who is in tears going in and cheers coming off
MIB, the best ride of its type...anywhere...
The walk thru Dueling Dragons Queue
Riding the Flying Unicorn with DS6...5 times in a rown with FOTL

You guys are evil - I'm the one looking for my locker when I get off MIB!!

Things that make me laugh/happy at Universal are:

That Cat in the Hat ride - but didn't it spin much more when it first opened?

Going on DD first thing in the morning and getting the front row 5 times without a wait - okay, it makes me a little sick too.

Walking to the parks and being able to see some of the rides as you walk along the path.

Going on Popeye with people who haven't riden it before and are "sure they won't get too wet"!

I'm going to try a Margarita this year - only 46 days to go!

-walking into IOA and hearing the themed music to each land
-laughing like a loon at the Fish on the Cat in the Hat
-watching my kids eyes light up with each passing moment experiencing the rides/atmosphere
-similar to "drinking around the world", stopping for an adult refreshment on each island
-SPIDERMAN RIDE
-all of the hidden theming in each land
-not having to tour commando style because of FOTL
-not having to set up my meal schedule 6 months in advance:rotfl:

:rotfl2: i love ALL these! ....and i would agree these are some of my favs too! (Glad to know I'm not the only one looking around Shrek during "spider" scene.... )

I have SO many things, but there is always one consistent.....watching the faces of peeps in Standby lines while we go thru EP line .... several times. When someone asks me about it, they are really surprised and generally confused about the whole FOTL....they usually say, "oh, i bet the hotels are really expensive"....then i mention our AAA rate and say it's cheaper and nicer than the deluxes at WDW and it gets them thinking.... :headache: :rotfl:

Philosophizing with our bartender, Jim, at Finnegan's while we down a few pints.

Deciding at five, six o'clock where we'd like to eat dinner and enjoy some cocktails instead of six months in advance.

Getting a hurricane to go and sitting in a Margaritaville World beach chair, enjoying the tunes and people watching.

The EP line for Spidey -- so much better than the regular line.

The regular line for MIB -- so much better than the EP line, lol.

The EP line for Jaws (this is an evil one, sorry). That has to be the hottest line of all the rides, and the FOTLers just walk by and right on <giggle>.

Hearing the kitty cat in the POE at IOA.

I do have a question about someone else's happy spot ... the breakfast sandwiches at Boungelerie (sp?) in US. We were there last week, and they had NO breakfast sandwiches in the mornings. We specifically scoped them out because I'd read on here they have good ones (we always eat in our room or at the celestial place in IOA). Only chocolate/cheese filled croissants, danish and fruit. Nothing with eggs or breakfast meats. Is this something you have to specifically request off the menu? We asked, "Where's breakfast stuff?" And they pointed us to the croissants/danish (cheese and chocolate) in the case.

Now, they did have delicious-looking lunch-type sandwiches which were featured in the cases even in the mornings. Is this what y'all are eating for breakfast, turkey and roast beef sandwiches?

We had them from April 25-29 at the Boulangerie. Maybe you were too late? They have a sign on the glass case that says what they include and their price.

Ok I have a few things we as a family enjoy about Universal.
1.The volcano nachos at Margaritaville( i already have 100.00 in gift cards)

2.Sleeping in late & not feeling like "oh my gosh we cant ride very many rides today".:lmao:

3.The shops they have around the parks,we purchase a new tropical outfit every time.:thumbsup2

4.I enjoy my son getting excited over riding Hulk & Dueling Dragons (over & over again throughout the day)

5.It makes me happy that we actually get to enjoy our vacation & enjoy our hotel(NO RUSHING,NO RUNNING FROM RIDE TO RIDE)

Have to tell you "regulars" about something that happened to us at Horror Make-Up this past Sunday. We had done the show Saturday, and my wife got "picked" at the beginning to help Mark James pull the knife out. When he asked for mouth-to-mouth, I didn't think quick enough, but my devious mind started meshing. So, when we went back Sunday, we sat in the same exact seats. This time, when Mark pleaded for mouth-to-mouth, I quickly got up and made the "kissing" face to him. He pretty much lost it, regained his composure, and said "two's a couple, three's an adult movie. Call me" and he winked. I thought the audience was going to completely lose it. Of course, my son had to get in the act, so when he then asked my wife to pull out the knife, my son pipes up "nah, just tap it in". Guess who got soaked from the "heart blood"?:lmao:

I always wondered what would happen in the case. I would have liked to have seen that!
