Things I would do differently:

I can't wear crocs. I have wide feet, but high arches and the nubs just feel so uncomfortable to me. I use Easy Spirit running shoes and Easy Spirit open heeled dress shoes (believe it or not!). The open heeled dress shoes are more comfy than the running shoes. I use socks so my feet don't rub against the inside of the open heeled shoes. I always use socks w/ coolmax, it swipes the sweat away from your feet and you have less friction than cotton socks.

I think the walking distance thing would be fine for parents who have strollers for their young ones. I stay a Hojo and have never had issues with the walking distance. Of course my kid is a teen, so he carries himself!:lmao: I would never venture to a park like DL w/out my own stroller if I had a young child. My son and his friends are small for their age and I recall getting a stroller at the park for them to trade off sitting in when they were 9, 10 and even 11 years old!:scared1:  They looked like they were all of 6-8 years old at the time. Those Disney strollers sure can take a lot more weight than regular strollers. One of our steps is equal to at least 2-3 for a small kid, so I imagine in their minds they're walking 2-3 times further than we adults are. By getting the in park stroller to hold our kids and 'stuff' we saved alot of end of the day burn out for the kids even at those ages.

Not that I don't think as an adult you use Heelys responsibly! Just that most kids can't/won't, and can injure a young one who steps out in front of them unexpectedly.

Using them in the park where they are forbidden is not responsible. It is pretty much the definition of irresponsible.

Wal-Mart sells crocs for like $6 I know they are not the name brand ones but do you think it makes a difference?

I wore the Payless Airwalks brand Mary Jane style last year. I rubbed that Bodyglide stick on my feet every morning before putting my shoes on and they were awesome!! My feet never hurt, not one blister or sore spot. Whenever I felt like something was rubbing I took out my bodyglide stick and put some on. I've got to get a new pair now because I wore them so much the tread is pretty much worn off.

Whatever you wear, make sure they are comfortable and won't give you blisters. My wife's pedometer showed that we averaged about 14 miles a day during our trip over Thanksgiving.

What is a bodyglide stick?

Has anyone else had experience with the cheaper brands? I would love to know how they compared! TIA!

I don't have any of the off brands, but I've heard from others that they are not the same. I checked some out one time in a store and they did feel "harder" in material.

Do a search of the board for a thread titled: "To Croc or not to Croc". There's lots of usefull information there. :)

The Payless Airwalks are very comparable to real Crocs. They are the same soft PVC material. Every other knockoff brand that I've see and not as soft as Crocs and in my opinion wouldn't be as comfortable. I haven't tried them, but just from feeling them in the store, I don't think they'd be as nice.

I'm confused. What is the Bodyglide thing and is it something that is used only with whatever Payless Airwalks are???
Are you talking Payless Shoe store brand?
We are going in May and I had good shoes last time but by day 3 had shin splints...I think it's probably important to have 2 pairs of shoes to change back and forth.

So I bring my running shoes and my crocs, and when wearing my crocs I start with socks (gasp) if it's chilly, then take them off later (with my feet the socks start rubbing the bottom of my feet with the croc nubs, and that starts to hurt).

Socks???!!!! Wich Crocs????!!!!!NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!:rotfl2:

I plan on wearing my Minnie Janes with no-show socks in nude. I'll try that out for awhile then if I feel adventurous or the socks bother me, I'll take them off and go commando. ;)

:rolleyes1 if you wear tiny little "footie" style socks w/ some Croc styles, you can't even see them :rolleyes1

that's what I do w/ 3 of the styles I have!! I can't wait to get the athens and I will NOT wear socks with those!:)

Seriously?? Is it frowned upon to wear socks with them? lol
They are ugly enough as it is....but i love them with my jeans and socks.

No, I was just teasing Molly. I personally would never wear socks with my Crocs, but I have the Crocs flip flops and that would be pretty uncomfortable, not to mention weird looking.:lmao:
