Thick sole shoes

I just realized that after telling my 7 yr old son that he would be able to ride the MGM rocking roller coster this year he is still to short. The past two years he has cried over this issue when everyone else gets to go and he dosen't. I thought the height requirement was 46 inches,,,,,,,which he is 46 1/2,,,,,but it is 48. Do they really check closely if a child has on extra thick sole shoes. I just hate for him to go through this another year,,any suggestions.

I don't think the CM's check to see what shoes the child is wearing, but they will check to make sure he's tall enough. I know that he will be very disappointed, but please remember that these height requirements are for his safety. If he isn't tall enough, they should give him a front of the line certificate for when he is tall enough.

I didn't know they would give you a front of the line certificate. That would have saved alot of tear shedding over the past two years. I thought about the safety issue too and I would not dare want to endanger his life or others on the ride,,,,,,,,but I just can't see how 1 1/2 inches could be a life or death issue. Normally, the height req. is a lifesaver. The restrictions apply due to car design, etc. He may be "tall enough" with big heeled shoes on, but like airbag warnings in cars, the safety bar may be the reason. Alot of borderline heights on many theme park rides are better off waiting than having an injury ruin the day.
