~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

While we were at the party yesterday - Josh's mom gave me a pile of old pictures from Josh's childhood... This gem was in there. :lovestruc There are very few pictures of Josh at this age, and this was one I had never seen before... He was so YOUNG and skinny! There were lots of other great ones in there - but like I said, there are very few pictures of him at this age, it's fun to see!
I can see why you fell in love with Josh. He is a nice looking guy. ;)

How great that you were able to have breakfast with BMTL before they left for the airport.

I'm sure the dogs enjoyed you taking a walk with them

My new car is a big car so I guess that's why it's so expensive. Most of the cost is tax. If we haven't had to pay that enormous tax the cars wouldn't be that expensive.

Yes I think I need 4WD here because of the long winter with a lot of snow and ice. My parents totally agree with me that I need 4WD. Ulf on the other hand doesn't think the 4WD is a must, but my parents and I tell him he doesn't have a clue what he is talking about :rotfl:Since I know how hard it is to get up that last hill to my parents house and some of the other hills in Tromsø without a 4WD I'm not taking any chances NOT getting a 4WD. I'm sure I would regret not getting a 4WD and I would be really angry and swear every single day during the winter for the next 11 years. So I think paying $525 a year to have the 4WD is TOTALLY worth the money.

You can get a new unused family car for $21 000. Since cars are so expensive in Norway most people buy used cars because they are much cheaper. I bought my little car used. I payed $15 740 for it. It was then 3 years old and had gone 12428 miles so it was a good purchase.

Yes - it was very nice - I am glad we were able t to see them one last time.

I agree - the 4WD is totally worth the $$. ::yes:: It sounds like your current car was a good purchase too. :)

Hey D~
I just wanted to let you know, just in case you didn't - Disneyland and Disney World just changed their prices and now have a "tiered" system. Hope this doesn't effect V's trip too much!

Thank you - I am not sure how much this will affect our trip? I have an AP - so I don't think it affects that? And V will be getting a Military Salute ticket, as far as I know - they have not been changed yet? :scratchin

However - it may change future trips? It seems like going to WDW is just getting SOOOO complicated... It's very difficult for the average person to plan - much less the average person who has never planned a Disney trip before. What I am trying to say - is that Disney planning in confusing for me - I can't imagine how hard it must be for those who have never been. It's getting to the point where it's almost no fun to plan a trip anymore, because there is so much that has to go into it. ::yes::

It may just be easier for me - in the future - to just get an AP and not have to worry about it. LOL

Glad you are having a relaxing day. Same with me - it is so beautiful today in NY, 52 degrees! How was the weather there this weekend?

Thanks! The weather on Saturday was gorgeous - I think we broke records at 57°? It was just lovely out. Yesterday was not the greatest... We had some snow (which melted right away) and it was much chillier. I hope you were able to get out and enjoy some of your nice weather? ::yes::

I can see why you fell in love with Josh. He is a nice looking guy. ;)

Hahahaha.... Well - he didn't look quite like that when I met him... He looked more like this... But I love seeing pictures that are Pre-D~. LOL

****************************************************************************************************

I had a very nice lazy day yesterday... We haven't had a truly lazy day in weeks - and it was VERY nice! ::yes::

The only thing I *had* to do yesterday, was to take V to town for a school project - which got cancelled on our way there. So, we ran into Target quickly - grabbed 2 items, and she drove home. She was able to get in a good 45 minutes of driving time - so all was not lost. :thumbsup2

Then - I came home, and discovered that the Downton Abbey Finale isn't on until next week - and I was in the mood for some DA... So, I dug out my seasons 1-4 DVDs and started watching them upstairs in our room - with my electric blankie on... I was literally up there for the entire day... LOVE that show still... And watching season 1 where Matthew and Sybil were still alive... :lovestruc Swoon... I still cannot believe that show is done after the next episode. I agree with finishing a show when it's still good - rather than letting it die a slow and painful death... but this is one of the best of the best - and it's sad that it's over. ::yes::

Today - it's a Target day... Sigh. I haven't had a Target Monday in a while. It's a little odd, but kind of nice to get it out of the way early in the week. ::yes::

I hope you all have a great day! Pixie Dust to all! :lovestruc

D~

I am dreading the ending of Downton. They did have a sort of behind the scenes show on last night which was pretty interesting. It really takes a lot of work to get everything right and on point with the time period. So many things I would have never noticed, so it was interesting to see. I hope everyone in your house is on the mend. I know what you mean about getting the itch to get out and walk (or in your case run). Even though I hate the losing an hour of sleep, I can't wait until daylight savings time so we can re-start our family walks after dinner. The kids grumble about it but now that we live in FL and it is so gorgeous out, we can't pass it up!

I'm also so sad about the ending of Downton. I've already seen the final episode but I promise not to spoil it. I've loved that show and am sad to see it end. I do love a good period show -- I'm a sucker for the clothing! It's always so sad when family leaves after a visit, but I'm glad you were all able to enjoy your time together (even with sicknesses). We're working on plans right now to go visit my husband's family this summer. His Dad is 84 and in declining health, plus cancer and increasing memory problems. It's sad. We haven't all been out as a family to visit in a few years -- my husband has gone with the girls, and I have gone to visit when I took our oldest out to college, but it's been a while since we've been as a family.

Looks like you had a great weekend. We had a good one, too. Yesterday was a lazy day for us, too, and we needed it! Isn't the nice weather great? We had temps in the high 60's yesterday. It was so wonderful to open all the windows, and give the house a good fresh air cleanse!

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day yesterday.
What a bummer that you didn't know that V's school project was canceled before you start driving there. But I'm glad it wasn't a total waste of time since V got some driving practice out of it.

I agree - the 4WD is totally worth the $$. ::yes:: It sounds like your current car was a good purchase too. :)

Yes my current car was a good purchase and I really love that car. It has been running like a clock. The past year I have had some expensive repair on it and as I've told you some time ago it will need some more repair to be allowed on the roads in 2017. But I really love that car. It can drive everywhere without a problem and it's easy to park because it so small which makes it an excelente geocaching car. It's going to be odd not having it anymore.

I know - it's so sad. I like to think it's taught me a little about manners. LOL I did sort-of watch those shows on Sunday, I was dozing off and eventually fell asleep. I did record them though - I will watch them eventually. ::yes::

Yes - we are all feeling better now... Slight colds hanging on, but otherwise we are doing good. :lovestruc Thanks for asking.

I am really wanting to get out there again... We had one really nice day and now it's back to being cold again - as we expected. It was nice to have our one day. :thumbsup2 And I am very much ready for more. LOL I wouldn't pass it up either - I would love to be able to walk year round - or enjoy the outdoors... Except for a few weeks before Christmas. LOL That's the only time I really *love* winter.

I know - it's so sad. I've seen a couple of spoilers, so I kind of know what's going to happen... But I am trying to avoid them. Me too!!! I love the clothing and just the whole mind-set... The way things were and what was expected of a person. It's so fun to see and watch.

Yes - we did have a good time together. They are all home and readjusting.

I think a family visit would do you all good - and how wonderful that you can make it work! It sounds like the perfect time to go. :lovestruc It's never easy when our loved ones age, I am dealing with many issues with my dad too - and even though he isn't that far away, sometimes it feels like he is not close enough either. I sure hope you are able to make a visit work with all of your schedules. :lovestruc

Cute picture of you and Josh!
Wishing you a quick/easy day at work!

Hahaha... Yes - we have very few pictures of us together while we were dating... Back in the days of film cameras. We were engaged quite quickly - sometimes you just *know* - and we knew. A year later we were married and then we had Allison and V... So - it was a whirlwind few years for us - I wouldn't change a thing though. :lovestruc

THank you - the first half or so went quickly - the last hour dragged. But it was an OK day. I hope you had a great day as well?

Looks like you had a great weekend. We had a good one, too. Yesterday was a lazy day for us, too, and we needed it! Isn't the nice weather great? We had temps in the high 60's yesterday. It was so wonderful to open all the windows, and give the house a good fresh air cleanse!

It was wonderful just to be lazy... I feel like I haven't had a true lazy day since before we left for Disney... I've been working like crazy since I got home - trying to stay caught up... Then having BMTL here and still trying to stay caught up. LOL It was so nice just to take a day off and breathe. ::yes::

I cannot wait for warmer temps!!! :woohoo: We opened up the house too - even though it was only in the 50s... It felt good to air it out for a day. I love spring for that reason - but I hate the muddy yards/dogs. LOL

I am so excited to get out there and start running again! :woohoo: Hopefully in the next few weeks!

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day yesterday.

Yes - these school projects are going to be the death of me, I swear. I remember Allison's same project last year - and how it was just so terrible to coordinate... And V's is even worse this year. I still don't understand why teachers think this is an OK thing at this age? All of these kids have adult-type commitments now, which they can't just get out of... Trying to schedule anything where 7 of them can be in the same room at the same time, is almost impossible. This project is due next week, and it's worth half of their grades for this semester - if it isn't done or turned in - they will all certainly fail. :( V sent an email to her teacher last night - they were supposed to meet up again, she was there, only one girl showed up - and when the girl showed up and saw no one else there, she left. V came home in tears - can't say that I blame her, it's very frustrating.

That is so awesome that your car has run well for you. I hope your new car is just as good to you. :lovestruc

****************************************************************************************************

Nothing really exciting happened yesterday...

I did do my 30 day shred DVD in the morning - which is pretty impressive for me on a Target day. ::yes:: I thought my eating was pretty good - until I entered it into MFP, and I was way over my general guidelines before I even ate dinner. I didn't eat anything bad all day - but it seems that it was very calorie dense, and I didn't realize it. Oh well - today is another day. :thumbsup2

Target went by quickly - for the most part. The last hour dragged, but otherwise, it wasn't bad.

I came home, made dinner and relaxed all night... I went upstairs and watched another 2 episodes of Downton Abbey... I fell asleep half-way through the second one. :scratchin

Today... I will be heavy lifting this morning.

Then I will be working all day... I should finish up last week's custom order today.

I have to run to town this afternoon... Then I have a hair appointment... Then I have another appointment after that. So, I have lots of errands to take care of. It will be a full day for sure. ::yes::

************************************************************************************************

I am starting to pull together outfits for our October trip. The outfit I am mostly concentrating on right now is my Halloween themed outfit... I've been buying accessories for months now, and it's coming together quite nicely. It's a little difficult for October - as I remember it being warmer vs. cooler at that time of year? :scratchin So, I think - again - I will need a variety of clothing options. I will be bringing my trusty crop leggings again - those have been a life saver on these trips. But I think this trip will also need some shorts? I've brought them on my last 2 trips and haven't worn them (maybe once?)...

I am really hoping to redo some of my themes and possibly add in another new theme, as well. Now that I don't carry as much in the parks - I am feeling like I am almost ready to retire my Minnie Bag. I won't be retiring my Donald bag - or if I do - I'll never get rid of that one... but I've been feeling like I want to have a Donald UPB again... So, I might work on that as time permits too? And - of course - I still have dreams of making myself a Chip & Dale bag... So, there are a few themes I'd like to concentrate on over the next few months. :scratchin I really love the variety and ability to wear any of my outfits in any park at any time... So, I can go more by what I feel like on any particular day, vs. what I have to wear by which park we are in.

And then there is my Toy Story set... I am not sure what to do about that one? I love it so much - but I feel like I've worn it a bazillion times - with every color combo that I can possibly do... I'll keep the TS theme - I am certain, but I may remake that bag again - and do something else? I haven't decided.

I better get working if I have hopes of getting any of this done though. LOL

ETA... I forgot to add, I was able to find V's birthday gift at a reasonable price... I found the Vera Bradley Where's Mickey Campus Backpack and Large Duffel for her set... So, now she will have an entire travel set for when we go to the lake this summer and when we go to Disney in October. I am excited I found these pieces before they were gone - as they are retired and now the prices are very high for them, due to limited availability. ::yes::

One of our last photos with Thomas before he left... We never did get 2 photos that I desperatly wanted... A photo of just the cousins and a photo of the littles with us. But we did get this one, and it's a good one. :lovestruc

I hate group projects. So no looking foward to that when my girls have to complete them outside of school. My DH still blames A- in maybe sociology in college on a group project.

7 people in a group is way too much. It's impossible to find a time that 7 people can meet together. They should absolutely make the group smaller. What a shame that this school project is a huge part of their grade for this semester. You should give the teachers some feedback on this.

Hey D! Glad yesterday was good. Enjoy your hair appointment today!:goodvibes

Ooh I love when you start talking about your outfits. It's always exciting to see what you'll do. For Toy Story, would you think of maybe basing an outfit bag on another charatcer, maybe a smaller character? Like the green aliens? or Lotso? or Mr./Mrs. Potato head. :scratchin

that is great!

Yes - these group projects are terrible... I get the whole "learning to work together thing"... But it's nearly impossible. Victoria volunteered to be the one to do all of the editing - which will take her solid DAYS to complete... Had they all been able to meet sooner - she could have been editing all along - now, it looks like she will have hours to do days worth of work - and the entire groups grade will rest on her shoulders. I am a little upset about it. The same thing happened with Allison and this very same project last year - but not quite as bad, because they had been filming for weeks prior. Sigh... She will figure it out, it's just going to be rough.

How great that your Target day went fast.

I am very excited for my October outfits... I am hoping because I have a bit more time in between trips - that I will have a bit more time to do a few new things. :scratchin We'll see?

I agree - 7 is way too many, just coordinating schedules is impossible. I think I will email the teacher... Victoria emailed him - but he never replied. :(

I love my hair appointments - LOL... However - this time, I made the mistake of telling her I wanted bangs... I have not had a chance to work with them yet to determine whether I truly like them or not... I kind of feel like I am not going to like them... :scratchin We'll see though - I am not going to decide until I have the time to work with them, and I have no idea when I will have the time to do that. LOL

Thanks for the ideas... For the moment - for Toy Story... I am trying to stick with the same color scheme that I have going now - buuuut... I did have an idea for a Mr. * Mrs. Potato Head theme a few years ago - I drew it up and it's something I've always wanted to do - just haven't had the time... Sooo... :scratchin Thanks for the reminder - I think this might go to the top of my must do list for this trip. :woohoo:

******************************************************************************************************

I had a good day yesterday - it was incredibly busy, but it was nice.

I was able to do my heavy lifting right away, and be done with it early. It was a good lift - I felt like I worked hard and my range of motion was spot on. ::yes::

Then I went upstairs to work - I was able to finish last week's order and it turned out great. :thumbsup2

I went to town to run some errands, and then I went to my hair appointment. It was a great appointment - as usual, and I am happy with my hair - I just love my stylist! :lovestruc However - I did make the decision to tell her to give me bangs... At this point in time - I am not sure that was a good idea? I haven't had a chance to play with them to see for sure if I like them, or not? But I am really second guessing myself - thankfully my bangs tend to grow out quickly, so hopefully I won't have to put up with them for long, if I don't like them. ::yes::

Otherwise - it was a pretty uneventful day...

Today - I will work out this morning (30 DS) then I am home working all day... No plans to go anywhere - just working. If I get to a spot where I need to be, I will stop and start on some side projects... I need to get moving on those too. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day! :lovestruc

We were at WDW last Oct 21st to 26th and we had gorgeous weather. It was in the 70's and low 80's the whole time. We were able to wear shorts and go swimming. It was sunny, too. You'll have to watch the forecasts as your trip gets closer because they sometimes get cold weather. We were there the year before during the same week and it was a little cooler, but not by much.

I'm glad you had a good day yesterday.

I hope you have a great day in your sewing room.

Last weekend it snowed a lot here. So now we have 39 inch of snow. The temperature is also going to stay below freezing point which is good because then it won't get icy outside again. I prefer the temperature being below freezing point during winter so we don't get so much ice outside. I really hate when the temperature jumps all over the place and one day is below freezing point and the next day is above because then it gets very icy outside and difficult to walk.
We still have 2 months left of winter.

Just a quick fly by... I grabbed a selfie with my new hair this morning... It isn't the best - but it gives an idea... #bedhead #nomakeup

Great haircut! Love your necklace too:goodvibes

Love the photo of you, the girls and Thomas. So sweet!!

Ugh, group projects. Gives me nightmares. Bad enough when you have a project on your own to do, but add several people to the mix makes it harder to coordinate the meetings. Hope they can get together to finish it on time. Poor V!!

Can't wait to see your outfits for your trip. You always look great no matter what you put together.

Love the new hairstyle. You look FABULOUS!!

We are getting ready for the family to arrive for a short visit. Running around getting things done so we can just sit and do puzzles, color, play-doh and tea parties.

Have a great day!

Such a cute haircut! Love it!

So, thanks to you, I am now obsessing over what I will wear on our trip. LOL! I always wore capris with walking shoes, but now when I look at those pictures, I just don't like it on me. As you know, I have been giving the whole leggings look some thought. I am not sure if I am ready to go that route yet. Maybe I can ease myself into it by starting out with the short skirt OVER the leggings... I do have two or three pretty short skirts. They look nice on me, but I only wear them when the kids are not around... just self conscious, since I am pretty strict with my girls regarding modest clothing. :-/ Anywho...we shall see. You always wear the cutest outfits that are completely flattering. I am so not good with that sort of stuff. I follow a few fashion blogs, and I do have some staple items I would like for the summer and our trip: white chuck taylors, chambray shirt, boyfriend jeans, a longer more fitted hoodie with front pocket, and a pair of cuffed denim shorts (longer ones, like bermuda length, I think.)

I love the haircut! I think the bangs look nice, but I know first hand it can take a while to get used to them if you've been without for a while lol
