~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

So glad you're feeling better! That's a shame that Brian is still sick and now Lara has it too! It's so hard to get rid of the germs as it's being passed around the family like that. Hopefully they'll be better quickly!

I know what you mean about vacations and holidays setting you back. The same thing happened to me. No, the weather doesn't affect my bursitis. Sitting and sewing does though! I sit quite a bit, but am trying to move around more. I think I remember you got a fitbit? If so, could you tell me how you like it and why? Dan has been encouraging me to get one and I just don't understand the point. But if it's helpful, I would get one.

We used to go to Disney in October quite a bit, but it got busier than we like, so September is our favorite time to go. For instance, our trip with Moriah is 9/12 to 9/16 and the biggest overall crowd level we will have is 3; most are 1s and 2s. The heat is intense, but that's what the pool and AC is for, right? Anyway, I, too, hope we can meet up one day. It's on my short list of must do items!!

Hope you're able to get a lot of work done today on your orders. And that you could do your workout that you wanted to. Keep getting better!!

Glad you are feeling better D! Another voice to remind you not to be so hard on yourself. I know from experience its hard to stay on track and get back to eating right with 2 Disney trips so close together - throw in 2 holidays into the mix and you have a mix up. Just stay focused. Wait until BTML are gone and you can get back to the Whole30 and exercising wholeheartedly. Especially with being sick - you need to take a few days and let your body heal. Soon it will be time to start running again.

Lois - we are trying to find a way to make a last minute trip to Florida in March - both for Disney and to see the Orioles at spring training. Oh and also see my son who is also in FL for spring training, but I'm not sure we are going to be able to swing it. Charlie is traveling for work quite a lot over the next couple of months.

Also wanted to let you know that both Charlie and I have fitbits. I got a new one - a Charge HR for Christmas and gave my Flex to my daughter. We challenge each other almost every single day to see who can get the most steps in each day. It really has made a difference for me - I used to come home from work and crash in my chair. Now I walk - usually through the house, but I make sure I get my steps in every day. Its fun and challenging some days.

So glad you are starting to feel better. I'm so sorry everyone else was sick on their visit. Probably the airplane and all the germs. I'm so sad that Downton is ending. I don't even want to think about it. How is Allison doing with her whole 30? Isn't it amazing how foods can heal? It is so, so hard to stick to though. My son has Crohn's and we've managed to so far keep him off conventional meds, in part, by going gluten and dairy free. It may not work forever but it sure does help.

Glad that you're feeling better D!!! I'm so sad that Downton Abbey is ending. Great picture of Josh. Have a great day!

Thanks! Me too... I still don't sound great, but I feel OK. :)

I know - it's such an awesome show... The season finale is on Sunday - and I sure hope that everyone's story is a happy one. V noticed in last week's preview that everyone was wearing black... I sure hope that doesn't mean what it usually does... :scratchin

Hahaha... Yah - I thought it was a good one.

Thanks Niki - you too! :lovestruc

Yes - it's definitely making it's rounds to all of us... V is starting to come down with it now. Sigh.

That's a bummer that your bursitis is bothered by something you love doing so much... Is there anything you can do to make it easier on yourself?

I did get a Fit bit... It's just a regular Charge... To be honest - I wear it almost every day /night, but it doesn't record my activity properly - I don't think... I know it doesn't give me credit for any of my weight lifting... And I don't feel like it gives me accurate credit for my WATP or 30DS. But - I do like it for tracking my sleep and that's the biggest reason I continue to use it. I also love using it in WDW - it's so fun to see how much we walk there... I do believe it's accurate for actual walking/running... Just not my normal activities in the winter. ::yes:: If I had someone to be competitive with - like Tess - I think it would be a lot more fun... I know I'd find it more enjoyable if Josh had any interest in one and we could be competitive that way.

Those crowd levels sound like our January crowd levels - it was so nice.... I am definitely looking forward to the warmer weather in FL in Oct vs. Jan - LOL ... It will be nice to be able to wear shorts there again.

I did make a lot of progress - so that's good. And I did WATP - so that's good too... I think I am going to try my weight lifting today? :scratchin

I'm glad you had a good time with the family yesterday. Sounds like a good idea to start the Whole30 again. Is Allison also starting on it again?
Nice old picture of Josh. How fun that you got many old pictures from Josh's mom.

We did... It was a lot of fun.

I haven't decided if I am doing a Whole30 yet or not?? I may do some form of it - but not a full blown Whole30. I haven't decided. No - Allison is no longer doing a Whole30... I am kind of bummed about it - I was so excited to see her results. She had quit about 2 days before I did... It's a lot of work, and the fact that I was too sick to prepare meals for her - that kind of sealed the deal. I am not sure if she will try it again if I do? I do know that she is still packing her lunches for school, because like me - she feels that the school lunches are very sketchy. We will be doing something in the coming days/weeks - I am just unsure of what, at this point. But I need another reset, or at least some sort of adjustment so I can move forward again.

Yah - that was a fun old picture of him. :lovestruc

Good morning D - just stopping in to see what all you were to. So glad to hear you are feeling a lot better; don't be so hard on yourself, you know how to keep eating well and you will get back to working out when your body is ready. It's a lifetime journey, so just hang in there. Has Allison given up on the Whole 30 as well? It is easier to have someone do it with you.

Glad you were able to see a lot of family yesterday. Goodness, every one getting sick is not good. Hope they all get better before their flight this weekend.

I think of your Dad often and say a prayer over him every day. Have you had your foster parents stepped in like they offered?

I always love to see your plans for your V trip; oh Lord D I feel your pain on waking up V early. You do not wake up Shane unless you want a grumpy, uncooperative person all morning, even on vacation.

Good luck with your sewing jobs this week! Take care of yourself!!

Hi Carol!

I know - it's sometimes so easy for me to get down on myself... Sometimes I feel like I put too many standards on my shoulders, and I expect more from myself than I would ever expect from someone else. Sigh. I need to remember to be easier on myself. Allison is no longer doing the Whole30... She stopped about 2 days before I did - however - me being too sick to make all of her meals was enough to seal the deal for her. I would have loved to see her results - as I was so excited to see her psoriasis healing on it's own... I am not sure if she will do it again with me, if I do it? At this point - I am doing something... I started yesterday... I have no idea what to call it - other than cutting out the junk - for the billionth time... And journaling my food... I hate doing that, but sometimes I feel that I must. I tried on a pair of shorts yesterday... It wasn't pretty - definitely not something I would wear in public at the moment... So, I have work to be done - for sure.

Thanks - I hope everyone is feeling better too... We all have plans together today - I am taking the girls out of school and we are spending our day with BMTL & Josh's dad/step-mom. Sadly - Josh has to work, so he won't be able to be there.

Thanks - as always - for the prayers for my dad, it means a lot. My foster parents have not stepped in yet - for no other reason - other than I have not given them the go-ahead. I am still struggling with the whole "not their obligation" part of it... I my heart - I know it doesn't matter to them... but I am still dealing with it - I know it's the best thing for him and the right thing to do, and I need to do it - it's just very hard for me.

I know - it's going to be very difficult waking V for those days we are there... Whether there is a character breakfast to entice her or not. There may be a lot of Rope Drops we miss... Or I will go on ahead - and she can meet up with me... She knows Disney transportation almost as well as I do.

Thank you - I was able to get a lot more done yesterday, than I thought I would. It was such a relief! Both last week's custom order and the side custom order are done - PHEW!!! Sadly - I can't start on this week's custom order until Thursday... Our days are so solidly booked this week. I'll be working this weekend for sure - but I should be able to catch up then. ::yes::

Thanks for stopping by Carol - it's always good to see you! :lovestruc

Glad you are feeling better! Just finished your TR for Allison's trip and it almost brought me to tears, it's just so beautiful to see your dreams for your children come true. I would love to do a graduation trip for each of my kids but as a mother of four I am not sure it's possible, I'll have to see what dh thinks. My oldest DD starts high school next year and that combined with seeing your kids growing up just really struck a chord with me. Anyway thanks for sharing your trips and PTR with us.
On another note, try, as hard as it may be, not to be so hard on yourself. Like you said workout, but maybe not so hardcore. I myself have been sick too (its going around, especially with 4 kids brings all the cooties home) so I did Jillian Michaels yoga meltdown, instead of one of her killer body workouts which have been more of my normal routine. I still feel like I've exercised properly, but I haven't over extended myself like Itend to feel more compelled to do with most of her workouts. I will work my way back up to really pushing myself more as I get rid of this cough more! Yucko, being sick is the pits!
I have also read your finding a healthier me and that was another fabulous update to admit to when you stumble but to keep on trying and not ever go back to our old ways, just wonderful!
Can't wait to hear more about Victoria's trip sounds like more fun! Loving the PTR and TRS oh and seeing all of your wonderful bags you create!

Awwww... Thank you... I love sharing our trips here - and I love that people enjoy reading about them. I have a pretty unique and wonderful relationship with both of my girls - I love that it shows through in my writing. :lovestruc

Yes - doing 4 graduation trips will get to be pretty expensive... Just doing 2 is nearly killing me. It wouldn't be so bad if they were further apart - but all in a year's time, well, it's hard. On top of that - we also have the girls' flights to Europe that we are paying for... Lots of travel expenses this year! ::yes:: Oh well - they are such awesome opportunities for them - we can't let them go by.

It's so hard watching them grow up... A lot has changed in my heart over the last year - and I am more at peace with it now than I was a year ago. Not saying I am ready for it - but just not as much of a basket case as I was... Of course, that's subject to change too. :lovestruc Part of making it easier - is that both of the girls are planning to live at home for their first year or more of college.... That will help me a lot - as most of our life won't change too much.

Thank you - sometimes I really need to hear things like that... I put a lot of pressure on myself to succeed, and sometimes I just really need to set that aside. It's not easy though - even when I am sick. I did an easy work out yesterday... I think I am going back to heavy lifting today? I am feeling much better - even though I sound horrible - my voice still isn't back to normal yet. My eating was really good yesterday and that always helps me a lot too. I just really need to be serious again - and I am having a hard time doing that. But I am motivated - so hopefully I will make some progress over the next few weeks/months. I tried on some shorts yesterday - and it wasn't pretty... Definitely not something I would wear in public at the moment... In all fairness though - I wouldn't wear them in public last year either... So, I guess I am not as far up as I thought I was? But still - I really want to wear them this year... I have many in this size and style and it's such a waste if I can't wear them. ::yes:: Time to get serious... (I've only said that a bazillion times...)

I sure hope you are feeling better soon too... And back to your normal routine... It sure takes it's toll on us - doesn't it?

I am glad you are enjoying my TRs/PTRs... I love writing them so much!!! It's a definite highlight to my day and my trips to come here and check in. :lovestruc I hope you'll continue to follow along... I loved hearing from you! :D

Sorry the family is not feeling well. It's good to hear you had a nice time at the party. Nice picture of your DH, it's always fun to see old pictures! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day!

Thanks... I think it's working it's way through all of us... Thankfully I am almost back to normal. I feel pretty good - I just sound awful yet.

We had a great time at the party - it was fun to see everyone and catch up. :lovestruc

Hehehe... I loved that one too... Up until that point - I'd only ever seen one photo of him at that age - and he was wearing PINK Dockers... LOL It was a special occasion and the style then - but it's nice to see him in black pants this time. LOL

Thank you - it's always great to see you - I hope you have a great day too. :lovestruc

So glad you are feeling better!!

Did you book your flights this week? I was tempted but held off. I'm hoping for cheaper tickets in a couple of months.

Also, did you see they're shutting down one of the October FB groups? They may have already done it but I'm okay with it. Now I'll only have 2 to follow.

I am getting there... I feel pretty good - I just still sound terrible.

I didn't book flights... I thought about it, but my top airfare price is usually $250 r/t - and the cheapest it got (that I saw) was $354... So, I decided to wait. I don't have enough saved up for airfare for this trip yet anyways... I am currently saving for Allison's airfare to Europe this summer, since that comes first... Once that is done - I will be better about stalking airfare for October. :thumbsup2 Believe me - you guys will be the FIRST to know (after V) when I book. ::yes::

I did kind of see that... There are too many of them right now as it is... So it's probably a good thing. I should probably go leave that group, so I don't forget which one it is. LOL It's likely I'd be the only one still posting in there. :scratchin They are pretty dead right now anyways... I don't think I've ever been part of a less lively group? Not sure if it's because there are just too many groups - or if this group is quiet?

Glad you are feeling better D! Another voice to remind you not to be so hard on yourself. I know from experience its hard to stay on track and get back to eating right with 2 Disney trips so close together - throw in 2 holidays into the mix and you have a mix up. Just stay focused. Now I walk - usually through the house, but I make sure I get my steps in every day. Its fun and challenging some days.

Thanks Tess... It's hard sometimes, but I am trying to work through it and give myself some leeway. I know I've had a lot going on - but I don't want to let myself use that as an excuse. Once BMTL leave - then you are right - my life will go back to the unexciting normal that I am used to - and I'll be able to focus better on me and what's important. :lovestruc Thanks for taking the time to remind me.

I know!!! I am really starting to get the itch to start running again... I've thought about getting out there and - at least - start walking... but it's still a bit too cold/icy here to start that... but soon - very very soon! :woohoo: How about you??? Are you getting the itch to get out there again?

I sure hope you are able to get your spring trip to FL... Especially after having to duck out early due to the blizzard in January. It sounds like you have plenty of reasons to get down there. ::yes::

I think I'd like my fitbit a lot more if Josh had any interest in one, and if he was competitive with me like Charlie is with you. ::yes::

So glad you are starting to feel better. I'm so sorry everyone else was sick on their visit. Probably the airplane and all the germs. I'm so sad that Downton is ending. I don't even want to think about it. How is Allison doing with her whole 30? Isn't it amazing how foods can heal? It is so, so hard to stick to though. My son has Crohn's and we've managed to so far keep him off conventional meds, in part, by going gluten and dairy free. It may not work forever but it sure does help.

Thank you - I am getting there... I feel much better - but I don't sound great yet. Hopefully soon though. :thumbsup2 I am certain it was the airplane and the germs.... A reminder that I really need to wipe down my seat with a Clorox wipe or something? :scratchin

I know - what am I going to do with my Sunday nights now? We used to watch OUAT - but that show has totally tanked... I haven't watched it since they brought Frozen into it... For that matter - I don't even know if it's on anymore? But yes - Downton is definitely going to be missed, and I hope Julian Fellowes does another period drama... I adored everything about this one. It's a series that I will continue to watch over and over again.

Allison is done with her Whole30... She stopped about 2 days before I did... Then me being too sick to prepare her meals was the thing that sealed the deal for her. I am not sure she will ever do another one? Which sort-of disappoints me, as I was very anxious to see the effects to her psoriasis... I know she has continue to eat clean as much as she can though... She continues to bring her own lunches to school - which is good. I agree - it's amazing how food can really affect how we feel.... I cannot imagine how hard it must be to live with Chron's - but to do it with diet change alone and no meds - that's phenomenal!!!! I sure hope he is able to continue that way in the future... WTG for trying an "unconventional" approach - although, it seems that so many people are starting to go with unconventional - which is great... Maybe it will be the new trend for the future? :scratchin One can only hope... :lovestruc

Thanks for stopping by - it was great to see you here! :D

******************************************************************************************************

I am doing much better... I feel pretty good... I don't sound great though - but as long as I feel good, that's what's important right now.

I did work out yesterday... Just WATP and my abs... but it felt good to be back at it and give it my all.

I also ate really well - and that always helps my outlook on life... It's amazing how one little thing can throw me for a loop. But I've been at this too long - I don't give myself the option to not press on. So, I am pressing on. ::yes::

Then - I worked upstairs all day yesterday... Again, I made great progress. I am still behind, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I am finally finished with last week's custom order, and I also finished my side custom order... It's such a relief to have those done. :woohoo: Sadly - due to today's plans and working at Target tomorrow - I won't be able to start this week's custom until Thursday.... So I am still behind - but I hope to catch up this weekend.

I picked up V from school yesterday and let her drive home... She wanted to go through the Caribou drive-thru and order herself a drink... Which was fine... But she forgot to straighten her steering wheel and darn near took off the entire side of my car when she hit the gas/jumped the curb/almost hit the building... And she doesn't have the reflexes yet to know to stop herself - so rather than hitting the brake, she hit the gas and darn near hit the car in front of us too. Sigh... She is going to need a LOT more practice. I feel like her driving skills aren't as intuitive as Allison's were when she started. Anyways - my car is fine, I am fine, she is fine... But whoa... More practice is needed. A. Lot. More. Practice.

I made her drive to town last night too - to pick up Allison... She did well then - mostly... It's harder to get her the night time hours that she needs - as she doesn't have a job like Allison did, which gave her the opportunity to drive home at night quite often.

I was in bed as soon as we got home last night... Josh had a Pheasants Forever meeting - and I have no idea what time he came home.

Today... I am going to attempt to heavy lift... I think I am feeling well enough to do this today.

We are also spending the day with BMTL and Josh's Dad/Step-mom... We are hitting one of the museums in the area, and the girls are staying home from school... Hopefully it will be a good day for them all. :lovestruc Sadly - Josh has to work, so he won't be able to join us.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! It feels like spring is just around the corner - and I cannot wait! :lovestruc

D~

I'm glad you, V and the car is ok after V driving to the Caribou drive-thru.

I hope you have a great day with BMTL and Josh's dad and step-mom.

Hey D~!
When you first started working out was there a specific place you looked to for ideas on routines? I'm not a beginner when it comes to working out, just been out of the game for a little bit so I think it would be easier to follow a plan until I can work something out that best suits me. Any ideas??

I didn't book flights... I thought about it, but my top airfare price is usually $250 r/t - and the cheapest it got (that I saw) was $354... So, I decided to wait. That's why I haven't booked either. When I looked last week, we were sitting at about $384 a person r/t. With a trip to the Smokies coming up in May, I just couldn't justify that cost right now.

I'm hoping it's because it's still so far away. I think once park hours are posted and things like that, it will get more active.

Hope you have a great time with the family today!

So glad to hear you are feeling better. Ugh, that everyone else seems to under the weather. I had some 24 hour bug this weekend. So glad that is gone.
Happy to you, V and the car are ok. Being a passenger in a car with a new driver is an experience. Just glad no on was hurt.
Sorry to hear that BTML visit is coming to an end. Hope you have a wonderful time with today.
Just found out my nephew, wife and his little girls will be coming home soon for a short visit . We will be able to meet my new niece and visit with. I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Lots of breakfast for V's trip. Personally, breakfast is my best meal of the day. I will have to look into the Wave for the next time we go. Sounds delicious.

Have a wonderful day with the family!!

Glad to hear you, V and the car are ok. Practice is a big part of driving - I bet she will be fine with time.
Enjoy the day with the family - I bet the girls were happy to be out of school for today!

I'm glad you, V and the car is ok after V driving to the Caribou drive-thru.

I hope you have a great day with BMTL and Josh's dad and step-mom.

Yes - me too!!! I think I nearly had a heart attack!

We had a lot of fun - thank you! :)

Hey D~!
When you first started working out was there a specific place you looked to for ideas on routines? I'm not a beginner when it comes to working out, just been out of the game for a little bit so I think it would be easier to follow a plan until I can work something out that best suits me. Any ideas??

Well - I live in a rural area and a gym isn't an option for me - I am a big fan of work out videos. When I first started working out, I could barely move... Just getting up and walking was a workout for me. :( So, I started easy with Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos with no weights... To be honest - these are still my "go to" work outs, but I do them with 6/8/10 lb weights now - depending on my mood. I love that the 1 mile is only 25 minutes long and I can do it quickly and be done for the day.

When I felt that my fitness level had increased enough - I moved on to Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. This one it tough - even on the easy modifications... This one is also still in my rotation - especially when I am very motivated. I plan to add it into my daily rotation again next week and hopefully over the coming weeks... Shorts season is coming - and I always feel like I make good progress when doing this work out over a period of time.

When I discovered that the more muscle mass you have, the more fat you burn... I decided I wanted to build muscle and build a leaner body... I turned to the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women"... This is my lifting bible! Taught me about nutrition and fueling my body for efficiency, rather than weight loss. I still do these lifting routines to this day... I've ventured off to try others - but I always come back to this set.

Then, running... I just Pinterested "Beginner Running" like crazy - for weeks. I learned a lot. I am still not a fast runner (I did give it up over the winter) - but I am very happy with the progress I made last year, and I look forward to making more progress this year.

I typically follow a schedule of work out video M/W/F, and heavy lifting on Tu/Thu... In the spring/summer/fall months - I run on the evenings following my lifting, and I do my long run on the weekend. Other than my long run - weekends are off, because it's very important for your body to rest.

I hope this helps. :) If you have any other questions - I am always happy to help. :lovestruc

That's why I haven't booked either. When I looked last week, we were sitting at about $384 a person r/t. With a trip to the Smokies coming up in May, I just couldn't justify that cost right now.

Yes - my flights weren't great at all... I am hoping they come down a lot. For Allison's trip - I searched every single day - multiple times a day - for almost 5 months, before I found an airfare price I could live with. I was nearing panic mode that I wouldn't find a flight I could afford... Which is how I ended up with a 4 hour layover in Chicago on our outbound flight on our last trip. :/

Love the Smokies... Beautiful! My parents in-law live near there in the winter months... A gorgeous area! I hope to go back one day.

Hopefully... I've been in groups though that aren't active/don't connect... and I've also been a part of groups that are very active and connect really well. ::yes::

Thanks - we did! :lovestruc

So glad to hear you are feeling better. Ugh, that everyone else seems to under the weather. I had some 24 hour bug this weekend. So glad that is gone.

Thanks... Glad you all are doing better too!

Yes - it's sometimes scary... She is definitely getting better, but I sometimes wonder if she read the manual at all? :scratchin

It's so sad, but at least Allison will be with them this summer... They will have a great time!

YAY!!!! That's so awesome!!! I am very excited for yoU! :woohoo:

I love breakfast too... I just don't like waking V. LOL

Thanks - we had a great day - I'll post some photos below. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you, V and the car are ok. Practice is a big part of driving - I bet she will be fine with time.
Enjoy the day with the family - I bet the girls were happy to be out of school for today!

Yes - I agree... She is already doing much better... She is just having a hard time multi-tasking... That and (sadly) she doesn't always listen to my direction or there is a delayed reaction. :scratchin But she is doing better - and that's a good sign.

Thanks - we had a great day with everyone!

****************************************************************************************************

Gotta do a quick update today, as I have to work out in 10 minutes, if I want to get it done this morning.

The girls and I had a great day yesterday...

It's always a good day when you can break out a new Vera Bradley Disney hipster! :woohoo: I found this one on Ebay last week - perfect pattern placement, NWT & it was only $23 shipped!

20160223_090111.jpg

I called the school as we were sitting in the driveway to leave.... I told them that both girls were sick.

We stopped at Target to grab one item quick.

As we were walking in, the girls' Principal was walking in with us... She is very friendly with my girls... So, out of a pretty large school - she does know them quite well. So, there was no denying that they weren't in school and they weren't sick. Allison explained to her what our plan for the day was - and she told them to go and enjoy their family day. :lovestruc

So we did.

Allison drove up to the City... After a near parking fiasco... A non-compact car, parked in a "compact only" spot, in an under ground parking garage... Which ment that our car could not fit through the space provided to drive... Allison had to back the car up 2 full levels to get to a spot where she could safely turn the car to go forward and get out. Needless to say - I was proud of her driving skills and we found a different ramp.

We met up with BMTL and Gma/Gpa... We had a wonderful time at the Children's Museum... Lots of bonding time with Thomas, as he is feeling much better! :woohoo:

20160223_123225.jpg

We didn't stay at the Children's Museum for too long - we were all getting hungry and there was no where to eat there. We decided to head over to the MOA and eat at the new Rainforest Cafe... Sadly - we didn't get there until 1:45... Allison had to work at 4, which meant we had to leave there, no later than, 3:15... Well, we had to wait a little while for BMTL to arrive... Then it took forever for the waitress to take our order... we didn't get our food until 3pm... So we had to scarf it down and run. :( But, while we were waiting for food - we were able to get a half way decent family photo, minus Josh.

20160223_144531.jpg

The girls and I ran out and drove swiftly to drop Allison off at work on time...

Then V and I ran errands...

We met Josh at Allison's work to give her my car, then Josh drove V and I home. We do this often, so then we don't have to run to town later to get her. :thumbsup2

I went to bed as soon as we got home.

Today is a Target day.... So, I'll be off and running early this morning! I hope you all have a great day! :lovestruc

What a GREAT family photo. Looks like you all had a really nice day. So funny about running into the principal and how great that she was so understanding of family time. I just think that's SO important. It is not that school isn't important as well, but I would have done the same thing in your case.

It's great that you have such a good situation going with letting the girls share your vehicle. It just wouldn't work for us right now, and I'm just not as comfortable with Nicolas driving our larger SUVs, which is why we bought that adorable little used Civic for him. The past few days have had me hunting down insurance people of course to get the whole thing dealt with, including my 15 year old son having to provide a verbal statement (by phone...and I was allowed to be on the phone with him since he's a minor) to the other driver's insurance company. He was nervous about that (of course) but he did great explaining what had happened in the best way that he could and the biggest relief was that the other driver did claim full responsibility just as he did on the scene which was my main concern. I like to think positively about people but you just never know. So now his insurance company will be handling the whole thing and hopefully TODAY we'll get it to a repair shop that I selected yesterday so that it can be assessed and HOPEFULLY fixed because I also don't want to do the whole car search again. We got a REALLY good deal on this vehicle and I really like it and so does he and I just hate to have to look again!

Hope you have a fantastic day and so glad you are doing much better!

What a fun day, and how great that the principal was supportive of your family day. :-) Love the family picture! It looks like a wonderful day!

:lovestruc

Well, I have a gym right around the corner from me that I belong to, so when it comes to weight training I just need to get my butt there and I'll have everything I need.. The hardest part is just getting there lol I actually have the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, and WOW, I agree that video is TOUGH.

I'm thinking of maybe trying to go to the gym for weights/cardio 3 days a week, and doing my Jillian Michael's DVD twice a week. Once the weather here clears up I also walk on lunch at work M-F. My office is right on the waterfront so it definitely makes for some lovely walks in nice weather :) Hopefully I can stick with it because my September/October vacation is creeping up and I'd definitely like to be in better shape when we go!

I followed along with your venture into running, and you should definitely be happy with your progress! You did great! Hopefully its not too difficult to get back into the swing of things once the weather breaks. Maybe you should put a Princess Half Marathon as a future goal :)

Thank you for the pointers, I appreciate it!

That is an EXCELLENT deal you got on that Disney Vera Bradley hipster!! I've been eyeing up that pattern for a while, and plan to get one when were in Florida this fall. $23 is an awesome deal, I've been keeping an eye out for them as well but I haven't seen them for that cheap unfortunately!

It looks like you guys had a great day with BMTL! Thats really funny you ran into the girls principal. You can tell they're good students when the principal doesn't mind them playing hookey lol

I loooooooove Rainforest Cafe! It stinks that you had to scarf down your food though. For the longest time the closest one to us was in Niagara Falls, Canada.. But, they just opened one up in Niagara Falls on the American side, so we will definitely be getting up there more often :thumbsup2

Sounds like Allison is a very good driver. I hate to do that maneuver with the car myself and that's with my little car. It's going to be hard for me to get used to the new big car.
What a shame that you had to wait for so long to get your food at the Rainforest Cafe. It's not fun not being able to enjoy the meal.
Looks like you had a fun day with the family yesterday :)

What a great day spent with the family. Glad the principle was understanding. It was a for a great reason.
Great buy on the hipster bag!! What a great family picture.
Hope you have a great day at Target!

:lovestruc
Glad the principal understood about the girl's absence. Everyone deserves a day of fun sometimes!

The picture of the kids are so cute! And nice family photo! Glad you all had a good time.

Love your family pics!! What are the odds of running into the principal when the kids are playing hookie lol. Glad you are feeling better!! You really have nerves of steel with the driving practice!! Just the thought of that with my kids gives me heart palpitations and it's over 3 years away lol

Whew! I have fallen behind AGAIN! i am telling you, school and work are getting in the way of my Dis time!

D~, you ARE an inspiration...and even more inspiring is your tenacity, NOT giving up. You inspire MORE through your struggles, your "human-ness", if you will. Do not ever think that your struggles disappoint us or that you fail to be an inspiration just because you struggle! This inspires me more, because guess what....I struggle, too. And I can say to myself "Just keep going. If D~ can stick with it, even after setbacks, so can you!" (((HUGS)))

So glad you are feeling better. It sounds like you have still been able to have some good time with your family while they are here. I do hope they can ALL feel better before they head back home. That long trip will be even harder if the baby is still sick. :-(

If you want to friend me on fitbit, I will be happy to challenge you! Chiara is on my friends list and we have challenged each other

We've had some warmer weather and yes, I'm starting to get the itch to get out and start running. I think I'm going to go down to the trail and start out on that - its fairly level (though not quite) before I start running on the roads. All of the roads around here are hilly and I want to work up to them. I know there will be some hills in the race, since Baltimore is quite hilly.

I sure hope you are able to get your spring trip to FL... Especially after having to duck out early due to the blizzard in January. It sounds like you have plenty of reasons to get down there. ::yes::

Doesn't look promising right now. Just found out today that my department will be helping to present our stormwater plans to each municipal government - 72 municipalities and there are 7 of us - and we have to have them completed in 3 months. Means lots of overtime for me, but not much time to get away. Especially since I already have a week off in April to go to a quilt retreat in the Smokies! Its gorgeous there in the spring too!
!
I think I'd like my fitbit a lot more if Josh had any interest in one, and if he was competitive with me like Charlie is with you. ::yes:: Friend me!

I agree completely - but they (Allison especially) has missed sooooo much school lately. But we had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves.

I am not sure I would call our car situation "great" LOL... I would call it inconvenient and a pain. Hehehe... But I am pretty firm that the girls have to save up their own $$ to purchase their first car (Josh sees things differently) so there may need to be some compromise on this in the future? But we are making it work (and racking up insane miles on my car) until Allison leaves for Europe. Once she returns - she will have to have transportation of her own, as V will likely have her license by then - or close to it... And there is NO way we can do 3 people with one vehicle.

I am glad the other driver claimed responsibility for the accident - that is helpful. Even if it is so inconvenient... I hope everything works out well and you won't need to get another car. I hope that both of you are still feeling OK from the accident and no later aches and pains.

What a fun day, and how great that the principal was supportive of your family day. :-) Love the family picture! It looks like a wonderful day!

Yah - it was a lot of fun. :) It was nice to spend a little time with everyone.

It sounds like you have a very nice gym set up - I will say that I am a bit jealous... I'd love to have access to a squat rack. I've dialed back my heavy lifting considerably, due to the fact that I feel unsafe lifting too much heavier with out one. One day - I will find the space or place to put one in our house... Until then - lifting something is better than lifting nothing. ::yes::

Yes - I think I curse myself every time I do the 30DS... It's a toughie! But I often look back at my 2014 trip pictures - and my arms were pretty awesome there... I had been doing 30DS consistently for 4+ weeks and my heavy lifting... So it works - if I can keep up with doing it... After week 2 or 3 - I am pretty exhausted from it. ::yes::

I think that your tentative work out schedule sounds great... I've debated on switching my lifting back to 3x a week too... But I don't enjoy it that much. LOL And walking on the water front - that sounds just lovely! I wish we had somewhere like that near me to walk/run... It seems that our trails are pretty secluded - and sometimes scare me because of that. I am very cautious about when I go out on them - always during heavily populated times.

Yes - I am a little nervous about how my running will go this spring... I am afraid to find out how much endurance I have lost. I just keep telling myself that it's OK - I started last year from nothing - so it can't be any worse than that this year. :scratchin

Thanks... I logged on to Ebay one day last week at like 4:30am... And there were several of them listed... They all had actual photos of the bags being auctioned - and I found one with great pattern placement. I snatched it up right away. I was super excited. Then - about 30 minutes later, I got to thinking - I should have bought one at that price for BFF, since she has the Vera Tote in that pattern... So, I went back and there was only 2 left - I grabbed it. By the time I was done paying for it - they were all gone. I was very excited to get one for myself and one for BFF. Midnight with Mickey was the first Disney VB pattern released - and to be honest - it's one I never liked at all. But then, on our August 2014 trip, bff purchased the Vera tote - and I fell in love with it... However, I was still building my Perfect Petals travel stuff - so I never really bought anything in that pattern. It wasn't until after this last trip, I really started looking, since I only have 1 bag left to get to complete my PP travel set (the Grand Traveler in Flower Shower - the coordinating VB non-Disney print). I don't think I will get any other pieces in Midnight with Mickey? But I do love that it's black (I wear a lot of black) and it has so many bright colors - which I wear a lot of in the spring/summer... I think it will go with a lot. I do have to say - I really dislike the new Disney VB collection patterns... None of them appeal to me. I hope they come out with something better, very soon. ::yes::

We did have a great time with BMTL... We will only see them a few more times before they leave. I do enjoy the RFC - but it's so expensive and I don't think the food really lives up to the price. But it's fun to go there for the atmosphere. :lovestruc

LOL - she is a pretty good driver. You will have a lot of fun adventures getting used to your newer bigger car. :thumbsup2 And I am sure you will do great!

Yes - it was a bummer, but we enjoyed our time the best we could, and we knew as the clock ticked by - that we would have to rush out.

What a great day spent with the family. Glad the principle was understanding. It was a for a great reason.
Great buy on the hipster bag!! What a great family picture.
Hope you have a great day at Target!

It was a lot of fun - and I was surprised that the principal was so understanding - she definitely didn't have to be. :lovestruc

Thanks - I was so excited! I've fallen in love with that pattern recently - so I was excited to finally have a piece from it. :thumbsup2

Thanks - you too! :lovestruc

Glad the principal understood about the girl's absence. Everyone deserves a day of fun sometimes!

The picture of the kids are so cute! And nice family photo! Glad you all had a good time.

LOL - me too... I was kind of embarrassed to be caught, but it turned out OK. :lovestruc

Thank you - Yes - it turned out good. I really just wanted one of all the grand kids and the grand parents together... but I think the grand parents misunderstood. Oh well.

Love your family pics!! What are the odds of running into the principal when the kids are playing hookie lol. Glad you are feeling better!! You really have nerves of steel with the driving practice!! Just the thought of that with my kids gives me heart palpitations and it's over 3 years away lol

Thanks!

LOL - I know -right? I was a bit embarrassed! But it turned out OK.

Thanks - I am glad I am better... Now the rest of the family is coming down with it. Sigh. It seems never ending this year!

Hahaha... Yes - it's kind of scary, but I'd rather do it, than not do it and pay for it later with accidents or injury. Not saying that couldn't happen now... Just doing my best to give them every possible driving scenario that I can. :thumbsup2 When your time comes - it will be easier than you think.

Whew! I have fallen behind AGAIN! i am telling you, school and work are getting in the way of my Dis time!

D~, you ARE an inspiration...and even more inspiring is your tenacity, NOT giving up. You inspire MORE through your struggles, your "human-ness", if you will. So glad you are feeling better. It sounds like you have still been able to have some good time with your family while they are here. I do hope they can ALL feel better before they head back home. That long trip will be even harder if the baby is still sick. :-(

No worries Oopsi - I know you are so busy right now! But I am soooo proud of you! You are setting yourself up for a fantastic future! :woohoo:

Thank you for saying that - it means a lot to me. :lovestruc My size & food continue to be a giant struggle for me, every single day... Not only physical, but mental too. It's much easier when I concentrate on the quality of my intake, but I struggle so hard when I am in Disney and after I get home... It's tough. I am very thankful - I have several months in between trips this time, so I can really take the time to rededicate and be devoted to my health. As much as I'd love to sneak in another trip on my AP - I just don't think it will happen. Oh well. Much love to you, my friend - for saying the words that I sometimes need to hear - and for pushing on yourself.

Thanks - I am doing much better - but now the rest of my family are dealing with different stages of it. It's a doozie... Allison was home from school yesterday... V probably should have been home - but she went. Josh came home from work early and called off today. So - it's making it's rounds. Sadly BMTL leave on Saturday - and we have plans with them tonight and tomorrow night... Hopefully the family can push through it for a couple of days... Then we can all rest and relax - and get better. BMTL are doing much better... The only one still sick is Brian - but he has had something totally different than the rest of us... He actually had a confirmed case of strep and has been on antibiotics for a few days - however, I am usually better the next day once I am on meds - he still wasn't better 2 days later - so I am a bit worried about him. I did not talk to Myrthe at all yesterday - so hopefully he is better by now.

Thanks for stopping by Oopsi - it's always great to see you here when you can find the time. :lovestruc

I will try to figure out how to friend you on fitbit... However - I doubt I will be completing many challenges until after I can get outside to walk/run... As my fitbit never gives me any credit for my video work outs or my weight lifting. It's such a bummer - and kind of annoying too. LOL Thanks for offering to challenge me - I look forward to some good competition. ::yes::

*****************************************************************************************************

I had a long day at Target yesterday... Sadly - I feel like I am getting close to the end of my time with them. At the moment - the only thing keeping me there is my co-workers (who are dwindling) and my discount... Which I use often - but not as much as I used to. I am trying to weigh if the inconvenience is worth the benefit...

I went to Walmart after work - and had my oil changed in my car... I hadn't realized how far over I was... I need to remind myself that Walmart is right there - and so easy to have this done. Half the reason I went so far over is that my mechanic is so far away and it's difficult to find the time where I can go there and wait. It was nice to do some shopping while I was there too. ::yes::

Then, I picked V up from school and she drove home... She did really good. :thumbsup2

I got home and Josh was home early from work... He's come down with what I had. So, right now - the entire family is in different stages of it... The girls are pushing through today, and Josh called in sick to work. I was expecting this - so it's no surprise.

Josh spent the night in bed... And the girls did too... I spent my evening on my tablet and watching My 600lb life...

Today - I'll be heavy lifting as soon as the girls leave for school.

Then I will be working like a crazy woman in an effort to catch up upstairs... I will be up there the entire day.

Those are my only plans today... I think we are headed up to BMTL's for dinner tonight? :scratchin

I hope you all have an amazing day - Prayers and Pixie Dust to all!

I need to get my form down before I can use the squat rack lol For no, I use the smith machine, and squats with the kettle bell. You're lucky if you can fit one of those in your house lol My husband looked into getting one and dwe couldnt find the space :sad2:

Hmmm... Now I'm definitely going to have to give the 30DS an honest effort and see where it gets me ::yes::

Me personally, I prefer to lift weights more than anything else. If I could lose weight and bypass cardio completely I would :rotfl2:You definitely need to be careful on those paths when you're by yourself. I remember reading your report last summer and you mentioning a sketchy man you came across on one of your outings. I would stick to the more populated areas because I'm a scaredy cat lol

I've always loved the Midnight Mickey pattern! I was going to wait until we go to Disney to get my hipster but finding them on E-bay for half the price sounds nice too. I'm like you, I'm anal about my pattern placement lol So if I can find one at a good price and good placement then I may go that route instead!! I really like the Perfect Petals pattern too, but I feel that has more earthy tones to it, so I dont have much that matches :confused3 I agree with you on the new VB Disney patterns, I'm not crazy about them. I like the colors, but the patterns arent very pleasing. I have, however, been eyeing up the Star Wars Dooney & Bourke cross body bag.. so I MAY be spending a BIG chunk of my souvenier budget on that :scratchin

Anyway, enjoy the last few days you have with BMTL! Do you guys have any plans to ever fly across the pond and visit them there?
