More ToonTown Pictures - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 5)

More ToonTown!
IMG_1321.JPG
I thought this was such a fun fountain, though the effect is slightly lessened when it's raining pretty solidly.

zIMG_1322.JPG
zIMG_1325.JPG
If we can't fix it, we won't! :D

zIMG_1326.JPG
This one they also have in Disneyland CA, but I love it - fish in the gas tank. :)

zIMG_1328.JPG
zIMG_1329.JPG
Car won't backfire? it will when we're done with it!

zIMG_1330.JPG
That's a real vending machine, themed like an air machine!

My favorite part of the bank - in case of emergency, break pig!

Happy Birthday Donald!

We didn't try to meet any of the characters or go in any of their houses - there was still more of a line than we wanted. And while I was interested in riding the coaster it was closed so we didn't ride it. But we still had fun exploring! Including playing with the fireworks!

We had a fastpass for the Haunted Mansion right then, so we were planning to head over there:
IMG_1348.PNG
BUT Toontown had Milk Chocolate popcorn and no wait! Popcorn on the ride is nice :)

The ghosts always follow us home!

Afterwards, we were hungry - time for lunch at Hungry Bear Cafe! But as we got close, we saw a stand for black pepper popcorn with basically no wait so of course we had to get some for Trevor cause he's weird.
zIMG_1350.JPG
yay popcorn!

Big Thunder was closed now for refurb, but still pretty:
PXL_20250530_030911791.jpg

At Hungry Bear, we placed a mobile order and Trevor found a seat while I headed off to the restroom. Of course I passed fun theming I wanted to share:
PXL_20250530_030925599.jpg
Yum!

The bathroom was through a tunnel!
PXL_20250530_031457378.jpg
Not sure why, but cool!

We had heard lots about the Hungry Bear curry so I was excited to try it. We got the Pork Cutlet Curry (mild), with shredded cheese, and then the Hungry Bear Curry (mild) also with shredded cheese, and then milk and a Fanta Melon.
zIMG_1353.JPG
The pork is there on the left, and the Hungry Bear is on the right with the Mickey egg. The Hungry Bear curry includes beef and chicken. Guys, this was one of the best meals we had - it absolutely lived up to the hype! I was kind of sad we didn't end up eating here earlier! The pork cutlet was our favorite - good flavor and surprisingly crispy.

Snackage - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 7)

Close up of the Hungry Bear curry:
zIMG_1354.JPG
Not gonna lie we did spend some time trying to figure out how they may have done the mickey yolk in the egg. Still not sure, but it was cute! This was good flavor but we missed the crispiness of the pork cutlet. But for both, good flavor without being too spicy. We loved it.
zIMG_1355.JPG
Melon soda and milk :)

We got done about 15 min before 1 pm, and it had stopped raining, so we decided hey, let's go get a parade spot, since the rain has stopped and hopefully they run it! As we left, one farewell from the Hungry Bear:
IMG_1360.JPG
This made me laugh way more than it should have. :)

We got a spot on the bench there in the Frontierland area, and since we still had like 10/12 minutes, decided to get some of the last two snacks on our list since they were at a place right nearby. First, the creme brulee churro:
zIMG_1361.JPG
This was warm and delicious - highly recommend! So far, we were liking the churros here way more than at Disneyworld.
zIMG_1363.JPG
Then a soda but the important bit was the cheesy potato things there in the middle - baked cheese potatoes. We'd liked the onion potatoes so much I was hoping these would be equally good but they were not - oh well!

And finally: the pork rice roll:
zIMG_1364.JPG
This was kind of weird - we thought it would be good, rice wrapped in pork/bacon but the taste was weird. Interesting to try but we wouldn't get it again.

They did end up running the parade, and we had a front row spot:
PXL_20250530_040331151.jpg
Isn't the hood on my hoodie cute? 101 dalmatians! :)

We also had an up close encounter with a duck:
PXL_20250530_040506596.MP.jpg
I guess he wasn't getting as many snacks as normal and that made him bold!

Anyways, the parade did end up being a bit modified: Rapunzel wasn't swinging, and then none of the smaller folks or walking characters were there:

Trevor set up his camera on the ground to film it, so you can kind of see what I mean. Still fun though!
zIMG_1379.JPG
Hi Mrs Incredible!

The rain seemed to have really stopped by then, so we decided to head to our next thing we hadn't yet done:
zIMG_1382.JPG
The canoes!

We CANOE! - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 8)

When we got there, there was literally no line.
zIMG_1383.JPG
Cute little cabin though!
zIMG_1384.JPG
They held us for a few minutes and by the time we started, we did have enough of a group to completely fill the canoe, which was probably for the best.
PXL_20250530_042923388.jpg
Selfie!

The canoes are never going to be my absolute favorite thing, but it's fun to do and get a fun view of the park from the river. Also, reminds me of the Bluey episode -
Bluey Bingo GIF - Bluey Bingo Canoe - Discover & Share GIFs

Afterwards, Splash Mountain was only posting 30 minutes and I didn't think it was actually that long, so we decided to go for it.
PXL_20250530_044801472.jpg
PXL_20250530_044804742.jpg
Cute theming on the little tunnel towards Splash.

zIMG_1390.JPG
We'd gotten wet enough today that hopefully we wouldn't get too wet on the ride!

It ended up only taking 14 minutes to get to the merge point with the fastpass line, so not a 30 min wait at all!
PXL_20250530_050350803.jpg
Again, I love the theming with the cute little rodent houses all over. :)

IMG_2230.JPG
We got the second to last row - not bad at all! And we didn't get wet hardly at all. :)

Bye Splash! We intend to have a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Day :D

Exploring Tom Sawyer Island - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 9)

Earlier, we had won the lottery to see Club Mouse Beat at 3:10, and it was about 2:30, and since we were already near Tom Sawyer Island and weren't tooooo interested in seeing the show, we decided to just ditch the show and explore Tom Sawyer Island. So off we went!
zIMG_1400.JPG
One last pic of the wishing well by Splash - I think this well is so cute!

Getting to the rafts that take you to Tom Sawyer island takes you right near Camp Woodchuck, so I took some pictures of some of that theming:
PXL_20250530_053447825.MP.jpg
PXL_20250530_053458451.MP.jpg
I love this! I wish they sold it as an actual postcard :)

PXL_20250530_053513241.MP.jpg
PXL_20250530_053524253.MP.jpg

Once on the raft, the CM gave us a map of the island:
PXL_20250530_053638948.jpg
Which is honestly a super cool souvenir - and very helpful. :)

We wandered all over the island:
zIMG_1406.JPG
Cute little waterfall!

zIMG_1409.JPG
Treehouse! Which you can go up into, though the entrance is a bit tight:
zIMG_1411.JPG
But we went up it anyways, 'cause of course we did.
zIMG_1413.JPG
Hi Trevor!

Rain is Dangerous! - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 10)

There's a rocky area you can explore too:
PXL_20250530_055440802.MP.jpg

And then Fort Sam Clemens:
zIMG_1420.JPG
zIMG_1423.JPG
PXL_20250530_055825335.jpg
There's not a whole lot over there in the Fort, so we started heading back to the dock to head back to the main area but I realized there were some bits of the rocky area I missed:
IMG_1425.JPG
So we went back over there and I was climbing around, but because it had been raining earlier, it was more slippery than I realized - I fell and skinned my knee up pretty good. Hurt a bit and embarrassing. :(

We headed back to the mainland, passing Tom and Becky's sign on the wall!
zIMG_1427.JPG

Back at the mainland, we decided to duck into Camp Woodchuck Kitchen to see the theming (I realize you're shocked ;) ):

From Frontierland to Fantasyland - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 11)

More Camp Woodchuck Kitchen theming - I love DuckTales so it was really fun to see Camp Woodchuck things in real life.

IMG_1437.JPG
zIMG_1439.JPG
PXL_20250530_061216600.jpg

At this point my knee was hurting a bit more than expected so we decided to head to First Aid to get it cleaned and such. Though as we went (since it was near the front of the park) we passed a quick service with one of the treats I wanted - the Donald Duck Ice Dessert (Mango)
zIMG_1441.JPG
This was good but COMPLETELY frozen solid. Not like an icee but solid. And we didn't have a spoon, only the large straw, which we kind of used to chip pieces of it away. It was good though! Just more work than expected to eat it LOL.

We made it over to First Aid and the CMs were super nice - they cleaned up my knee and gave me a bandaid and sent us on our way, but with a couple First Visit stickers. So nice!

We weren't quite sure where to go next, but we checked wait times and Beauty and the Beast was posting 30 minutes! So of course we headed that way. On the way we passed one of the stroller parking areas and Trevor wanted me to take a picture to highlight how good Tokyo Disney is at logistics:
zIMG_1444.JPG
Stroller parking spaces!

zIMG_1449.JPG
I was still slightly in shock to see it at 30 minutes, so we jumped right in.

zIMG_1448.JPG
Ride sign!

There was no line outside:
zIMG_1450.JPG
I was curious to see when we'd catch up with the line!

The Line for Beauty and the Beast was How Long? - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 12)

We caught up with the line in the first inside room of the line (with the fireplace and the Beast's chair), but the line was moving quickly: 3 minutes later we were in the room with Mrs Potts:
IMG_1463.JPG

And 10 minutes later we were in the pre-show room!
zIMG_1466.JPG
Not bad at all!

Including the pre-show, it was 20 minutes from walking in to sitting down on the ride:
IMG_1468.JPG
#winning!

The ride was great:

Don't ask me why I took the clips I took...I'm an enigma, what can I say. :)

And the exit was empty - first time we saw that!
zIMG_1471.JPG

At this point it was just a bit after 4 pm, and we decided to head back to the hotel, rest for a little bit, and then come back to the park to catch the Dreamlights parade.

The crowds were still pretty low so I got a picture of the Donald sign in World Bazaar that had always been surrounded by people:
zIMG_1473.JPG
zIMG_1477.JPG

But mostly we got distracted by characters:
zIMG_1488.JPG
Esmerelda was out!! I've literally never seen her as a character you can meet so that was cool.
PXL_20250530_071941398.jpg
Nice twirl. :)

As we kept going, Marie and Berlioz were out in the front meeting folks. I wanted to meet Marie, but as we were waiting, Berlioz ended up having no one around!
zIMG_1505.JPG
So Trevor had to take a selfie:
PXL_20250530_072212492.jpg

All the Characters - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 13)

I didn't get to meet Marie while she was doing her meets, but I did get a quick selfie with her as she was walking away, which was super nice.
zIMG_1525.JPG
PXL_20250530_072437462.jpg
Trevor taking a pic of Marie blowing me a kiss. :)

We also noticed Captain Hook was right there with basically no group around him either, so of course we had to meet him.
PXL_20250530_072518769.MP.jpg
Trevor and he are comparing mustaches. :D I like Trevor's better!
PXL_20250530_072524089.jpg
PXL_20250530_072533555.jpg
I don't know why Trevor and I are saluting; I guess that's what we thought Captain Hook was doing? Oh well! :D

So fun to catch these characters out at the front of the park meeting folks. Definitely has you leave the park in a good mood.

As we left, I took pics of a couple ride posters:
zIMG_1529.JPG
zIMG_1530.JPG

Back at the room, we laid down and took naps for about an hour, and at 6 pm, headed back into the park!
IMG_1532.JPG
I loved the murals they had on the monorail station, especially this one of World Bazaar.

One last selfie in front of the park!
PXL_20250530_090509521.jpg
We started heading towards Fantasyland to ride Small World (since we had a bit of time before our 7 pm Baymax fastpass), but had to stop and take more castle selfies:
zIMG_1535.JPG

DreamLights....Maybe! - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 14)

And I forgot to include these castle pics we took earlier in the day:
IMG_2231.JPG
IMG_2234.JPG
Thankfully it had stopped raining in the afternoon/evening, after that rainy morning!

We kept going to Small World, but with a short detour for popcorn on the way - we wanted to get the salted caramel from the Big Pop, and then the regular caramel popcorn from one of the stands and compare!
zIMG_1540.JPG
The big pop salted caramel is on the left, while the regular caramel is on the right. So which was better?

We couldn't tell a difference really! Or rather, we couldn't articulate the subtle difference. I thought salted caramel was sweeter than the regular but that could be the glaze that all the popcorn from the big pop seems to have - even the cheddar from the big pop seemed a bit sweet! Though the popcorn from the big pop had the coating more evenly distributed whereas the regular caramel was less evenly coated. *shrugs* Both were good though!

We also passed a Cast Member light tunnel, that I had to walk through:

So fun!

Then we were at Small World!
IMG_1546.JPG
5 minute wait - and the only Small World I really want to ride!

And because the wait time was so short and the crowd so light, I got some pictures of the murals inside the ride that I really liked:
zIMG_1548.JPG
zIMG_1549.JPG
Aren't those cute? Joey Chou is the artist - love it. He often comes to FARTS, and I got to meet him last year - he's so nice!

I didn't really take pictures of our ride this time, cause I took so many the times before, but I did want to get this picture of Mulan that I think I missed before:
zIMG_1552.JPG
And Cri-Kee!

As we got off Small World, the clock was chiming.

It was 6:45 at that point, and I can't remember if we got a fastpass for Pooh's Hunny Hunt, or if the line was short but either way, we rode Pooh's Hunny Hunt next - it was only a 10 minute wait, and considering how the lines were going today, that could have been either fastpass or standby! LOL

I did notice for the first time the bees on the gates before you get on the ride:
zIMG_1557.JPG
Adorbs.

We got off the ride just after 7, so we were going to go ride Baymax and then go to our parade fastpass but despite the super cool looking fastpass:
IMG_1563.PNG
They canceled the parade :( I was actually really bummed - the rain had stopped and I *really* wanted to see the parade again. It was so neat! Oh well. Into every life, a little rain must fall....

So, with our nighttime plans changed a bit, we decided to head over to Baymax, ride that, and then go to Ikspiari to look at the Disney store there and grab some dinner.

I made Trevor try the handprints again:
zIMG_1567.JPG

Bonus Fireworks View! - Friday May 30, 2025 (part 15)

Little Baymax was also excited to ride!
zIMG_1573.JPG
I love Trevor's smile in this picture. :D

PXL_20250530_101843497.jpg
The three of us had a great last ride - we got the "B-A-Y-M-A-X" song again, but it was awesome. :) A great last ride at Tokyo Disneyland.

We started heading out of the park to the monorail, and ran into Belle in World Bazaar!
zIMG_1580.JPG
PXL_20250530_102752950.jpg

As we left, it was sprinkling a bit (which I guess is why the canceled the parade but still, sad), but beautiful:
IMG_1582.JPG

Some more ride posters at the monorail:
zIMG_1584.JPG

We took the monorail all the way around to Ikspiari and headed to the Disney Store:
zIMG_1587.JPG

Since this wasn't a park store it had different things, including a ground map that looked like a map of Neverland, and some stickers and such. It was fun looking around and getting some things. :)

We also stopped back at the convenience store and got some sandwiches and such for dinner - egg salad for me, tuna for Trevor, and some other snacks that looked interesting. Not a fancy dinner, but it worked!

Also, how cute are these little Tink lamps by the monorail?
zIMG_1590.JPG

We were back in the room by 8:30 and I discovered our room was kind of sort of a fireworks view!
zIMG_1591.JPG
zIMG_1594.JPG
Yes, I'm taking the picture through the tiny window opening (the windows open about an inch or so).

So that was planned to be our last Disneyland day - and despite the skinned knee and the rain, it was a really good day. Very low crowds, low wait times, and we did all the things we wanted and tried all the things on our list. Awesome. Tomorrow, our last DisneySea day.

Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 22145 (8.1 miles)
Ride Count: 13 (Happy Ride with Baymax x4, Pooh's Hunny Hunt x2, Monster's Inc, Haunted Mansion, Canoes, Splash Mountain, Tom Sawyer Island, Beauty and the Beast, Small World,

Last Day - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 1)

Today dawned rainy again. It was our checkout day from the Disneyland Hotel, so we had to pack up for one last hotel transfer - we were spending our last night at the Toy Story Hotel!

But first, a couple last pictures of the room - some of them I already showed yesterday but these are closeups :)
zIMG_1599.JPG
Hidden Lumiere!

zIMG_1600.JPG
I really like this picture - I wish they sold it.
zIMG_1602.JPG
zIMG_1604.JPG
The best part of this wallpaper is that some of the books are titled after other Disney movies - Mulan, Snow White, etc.

zIMG_1609.JPG
Design (with a hidden mickey) on the table!

IMG_1615.JPG
This was over the couch.

And one more picture of the awesome door with the light on behind it -
zIMG_1611.JPG
Yea, I really want this door. If only!

We didn't bother waking up super early, so despite DisneySea opening at 9, we left the room a bit after 8:40 (after checking out and leaving our bags in the room for them to move for us. :) ). This was the only day of our trip that we didn't have Happy Entry, so we figured hey let's do the whole rope drop experience with the crazy lines at DisneySea. Why not. :) I mean we didn't really want to wait in long lines but we were basically done in the room so...off we went.

We had gotten some breakfast things from the convenience store the night before:
zIMG_1618.JPG
The waffle was good, the cheese thing was NOT. It was like weirdly sweet? I didn't like it at all. Oh well.

We got off the monorail at DisneySea at exactly 9 am, and it was raining pretty heavily. Lots of ponchos and umbrellas, and the lines were out in force!
zIMG_1623.JPG
We were held for a bit not even in the lines, but waiting to go around the hedge and get into a line. At 9:15 we got to go around in get into an actual line (I didn't take many pictures cause it was raining pretty good). We had fun kind of pacing ourselves against people in the other lines, but all lines seemed to be moving about the same slow pace.

Finally, at 10:15, we made it into the park!
zIMG_1629.JPG

Finally Inside! - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 2)

Once we made it in, we immediately pulled up the app to see what fastpasses and such were available: Indiana Jones passes were already at 8 pm, but Raging Spirits had a pass for 10:30 am so we definitely jumped on that. But first, our plan was to ride the gondolas! That, the Little Mermaid rides, and the Arabian Coast rides were our priority today.

As we headed to the gondolas, we passed the restaurant that was selling the Strawberry Milk for Food and Wine and it had a short line! Every other time we'd passed it the line was huge, so we absolutely stopped and got the strawberry milk. They also had the chocolate Mickey macaron so we got that too:
zIMG_1632.JPG
The milk was good, though the strawberries were a bit too frozen for my taste - the strawberry milk from Starbucks was better. The Mickey macaron was delicious - this was one treat I regret not getting more of!

It was still raining, but we figured we'd try the gondolas anyways. They were sadly closed, but apparently not for the rain, but because the Duffy boat was going to be going by and it closed for a bit before and after that. So rather than wait in the rain, we decided to take the electric railway and then head over to the Arabian coast to do those rides, as that will put us close to our fastpass for Raging Spirits.

There was basically no line for the electric railway -
PXL_20250531_013505879.jpg
It's a fun little ride!
PXL_20250531_013623972.jpg
Interesting views. :)
PXL_20250531_013646012.MP.jpg
PXL_20250531_013742464.jpg
I liked this view of Aquatopia.

And there was a cool mural there at the exit!
IMG_1640.JPG
We started walking over to Raging Spirits, but we passed Indiana Jones. And while we didn't have a fastpass, we noticed that the single rider line was open so we decided to hop in there! It was an excellent choice - we basically got right on. Though the way it shook out was interesting - I got called over first and not only did I get the drivers seat (again!) but I had an empty seat next to me! Bummer they didn't have us go together.
PXL_20250531_015013054.MP.jpg
I also wish I'd realized I was going to get the driver's seat, cause I would have let Trevor take it, since I'd already been the driver.
IMG_2229.JPG
I pretended to be sleeping. or dead. Whichever. :)

Poor Trevor got stuck in the back corner again.
PXL_20250531_015018212.jpg
IMG_2218.JPG
Brilliant! Indy is such a fun ride - I'm excited to see it at DisneyWorld though I think it will suffer from maintenance issues, a thing where Tokyo is clearly willing to put in the money.

From the Shed of Shame to Agrabah! - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 3)

Next up, Raging Spirits! They once again took me down to the shed of shame, but once I fit, they took us through the exit to get on, so that was nice. And we got the front row!
PXL_20250531_020618276.jpg
Definitely raining, but still fun!

Next up, the Arabian Coast rides - specifically, Jasmine's Flying Carpets first. I really liked the theming for this one - all things Jasmine.
zIMG_1649.JPG
Golden tiger at the ride entrance.

zIMG_1650.JPG
And it mimics the fountain Jasmine sits by in the beginning of the movie (and doesn't squeak since Tokyo actually maintains their rides).

I did like this general area theming right by the ride:
zIMG_1652.JPG

Anyways, the rain was letting up (yay!) but the line was still super short, so we were basically walking right on. But in the line they had these great mosaic/tile pictures.

Voyages in the Air and Sea - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 4)

A bit more of the theming - the ride isn't super exciting but so cutely decorated!

Jasmine and Rajah!

zIMG_1665.JPG
Golden peacocks on the ride!

PXL_20250531_021218679.jpg
The ride was fun, but nothing super special - though notice behind me there's kind of a staircase? You can go up on the balcony area behind us and watch the ride from there! We didn't cause it was wet and super slippery, but a neat idea!

As we were leaving, who did we see but Rajah!
zIMG_1668.JPG

Next up, Sindbad's Storybook Voyage! It was right there, and only a 5 minute wait. I didn't know much about this ride other than it had a catchy song and a cute tiger named Chandu. The line had cool art though:
zIMG_1669.JPG
zIMG_1670.JPG
zIMG_1673.JPG
PXL_20250531_021625603.jpg
(yes all of that is just in the queue!)

We Meet Chandu! - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 5)

A couple more queue pictures:
zIMG_1675.JPG
PXL_20250531_021634964.jpg
There was even a map of Sindbad's travels!
sIMG_1679.JPG
Then it was our turn! We got the last row, but there weren't people in the row right in front of us, so not bad.
sIMG_1682.JPG

Then off we went on the ride! I was surprised by how long the ride was - 12/13 minutes. Not bad at all! And there were so many animatronics and interesting sets -
IMG_1685.JPG
IMG_1686.JPG
I liked the little shadow puppets there on the screen.
zIMG_1691.JPG
Giant monster eagle stealing a person!

IMG_1695.JPG
All the treasure, and a giant there in the cell!

But I liked Chandu up there on the treasure chest:
IMG_1696.JPG
How cute is that?

Then, they freed the giant and he joined their band?
zIMG_1703.JPG
Not gonna lie, sometimes the story was a little bit unclear, but still lots of pretty things to look at.

Double-Decker Carousel - Saturday May 31, 2025 (part 6)

Chandu in his treasure chest!

And at the end, Chandu gets his chest and ALL the bananas! :)

It's a really cute ride - I totally get the love. I kind of wish we'd ridden it again but oh well!

We kept moving on, to the double decker carousel! I've never ridden a doubledecker carousel so I was excited to try it. As we exited Sindbad to go across the courtyard, it was POURING. So we just ran across and into the line which was basically a walk on. As we got on, we obviously went for the top - and you could see the rain still coming down, and the puddles there basically covering the courtyard.

Fun ride! Though it's not really any different than a regular carousel. But if you've read any of my previous reports, you know I like carousels. :)

Though many of the "horses" were genies!

Kind of creepy, but fun :)

And as we exited, I noticed these cool lamps that looked like buildings:

Very fancy!

At this point it was just before 12, so we headed across the way into:

the Little Mermaid area!

Then off we went on the ride! I was surprised by how long the ride was - 12/13 minutes. Not bad at all!
Tokyo's answer to Universe of Energy! My husband fell asleep first time we were on in (very jetlagged) and woke up under the hanging bananas...so disoriented. I took about 4 mini-naps, less disorienting. Subsequent visits we've stayed awake. Love that ride. It's been redone since its inception. I think youtube has the original version out there somewhere.
