Oh my gosh, that last picture of Cooper needs to go on the wall...holy cuteness!

I am some-what caught up again. So much for being better at DISing.

The layering of clothing is the smart way to go. Maybe you could rent a locker and put your sweatshirt/jacket/whatever in that, so you don't have to keep up with them. When we went in November a few years ago, we had shorts on all the time. It was early November for my birthday…around the 6th for a week. It did rain every single day and was overcast until the day we left. But temp-wise, it was great! We've never been in January, but went early February last year and I wore capris most of the week and shorts a few times. It was too cold to swim, but pretty mild. We did need jackets in the morning and evening. But living in MN and Oh, we take the cold a lot better than some who aren't used to really cold temps. I think you'll be just fine.

It won't be long before your new little bundle joins the family. He is so cute!! I just love puppy breath. Wait. Did I say that out loud?? lol Yep, I love the spell of puppy breath. Dog breath, not so much. What fun you guys are going to have and what an adjustment MM is going to have. Did I miss anything about the hedgehog? Haven't seen anything posted in a while. But then, I haven't been around either.

I'm on reserve battery, so gotta scoot. Will come back later to read more. Have a great day!

P.S. Our trip with Miles is in 4 days!!!! Can't believe it!

ETA: Lillian, I'm so sorry about your kitty! I know they are family. I said a prayer for you.

HI Lois! It's wonderful to see you here! I've missed you! I know your life has been so crazy lately, you've been on my mind... I am glad to hear that you have been able to get your parents settled (read it in Mo's TR) and the condo is done. What a relief!

Yes, lots n' lots of layering is the plan. ::yes::

I know - we are very excited about Cooper joining our family! It's going to be a huge adjustment for all of us - we have never been more than a 1 dog household, so I am a bit nervous about that. I am sure we will be fine though. I hope.

Lottie is doing fine... Still as cranky as ever. I was able to hold her the other night while V cleaned her house.

I am so excited that your trip is so close!!! How fun!!! I cannot wait to hear how Miles does! And yes, it did sneak up on you - It seems like just a few weeks ago, you were trying to decide if you were going to book this trip. I am glad to hear that it's finally here and Miles is willing to fly. ::yes:: You will all have a great time!

Thanks for stopping by Lois! I"ve missed you!

Oh you got hit with the snow. So did we, it was mainly gone by the time we got up. Yesterday it hit 70 here so there is not a trace left. I love going up to Mystic and was thankful the year they put the partition in to actually keep the smokers and non smokers separated but I can literally see it as soon as we hit the lobby. DH hates it:( Your so lucky to have a Target optical, we don't have any close by. They seem to have a better selection and quality than WalMart. I hope Alli has a blast! We have a ton of students leaving for Toronto and I can't imagine when the time comes for the kiddos to head away (without) me. I keep telling them I'm going to chaperone lol! Have a great day!

Yah - it came and went very quickly.

I've never been to Mystic... I've driven past, but never gone in. :thumbsup2 BFF, OTOH, is the one who really likes casinos.... She's been to all of them many times.

Our Target optical is pretty far away... about a 30 minute drive - but so is everything else, so it doesn't really matter which direction we go in. ::yes:: Our's did seem to have a very big selection at all - which was a bummer, but I guess it didn't matter much, since they don't take our insurance anyways.

She did have fun - it was just that she didn't get to do much of anything. That part was disappointing for her... but she loves her friend and her friend's mom - so she did have a great time with them. :lovestruc

You too! Thanks!

I'm ok :) Thanks for asking

Sounds like you had a good time and a nice meal at the Casino. Even if you had to pass through a room with a lot of smoke.
What a bummer that Alli's trip to Chicago was so short. I hope she gets to visit Chicago another time.

Cooper is so cute.

Awww... I hope so. It's not easy.

We did have a good time - it was fun.

I know - I hope so too... It won't be until after all of these trips to WDW and Europe, but she will go back - I am certain of that. :)

Thanks! We are so excited to add him to our family!

Poor Alison. She must have spent most of the weekend in the car. What a disappointment.

Yes, it was disappointing for her, but she enjoyed spending time with her friend and her friend's mom... Allison and Marah have been friends since grade school, so it was good for them to spend some time together. :lovestruc And hopefully - she can take another trip to Chicago at another time, so she can get to see all of the sights she missed - which was almost everything.

Oh my gosh, that last picture of Cooper needs to go on the wall...holy cuteness!

I know... Only 3 more weeks. I need to start puppy-proofing very soon. :lovestruc

*************************************************************************************

I had a nice day yesterday....

After I let Alli sleep in for a little while, her and I went out to run a few errands... And we went out for lunch. It was a lot of fun. ::yes::

While Alli and I were running errands... Josh and V were at her Trap meet... She is starting to get better with her shooting - which is awesome! Sadly - she has a pretty bruised shoulder from the kick of the gun.

When Alli and I got home, I worked upstairs for a little while... Finishing up a couple things from last week's order, and working on one of my side projects... I also looked at my Goofy skirt - trying to figure out how I am going to alter it. It's a little big on me now (I wish it was bigger) and I'd also like to make it about 3-4" shorter... I made it way too long last spring, and I never wear it because it's such an awkward length on me. So, that's something I'd also like to work on over the next few weeks.

Suzi and I are having fun on Pinterest - finding all sorts of clothing ideas for our trip. ::yes:: I am very excited about this... I finally have someone who will coordinate with me - even if I am only her accessory.

Josh made bratwurst on the grill last night - Mmmm... It was so good and really hit the spot.

I really need to get a handle on my size loss... I put on a pair of my denim shorts from our trip in August - and there is barely any change in how they fit me from then... Sigh. I am really very disappointed in myself - for how hard I've been working, I should really have more to show for it. :( I need to figure this out - as I am so close to where I want to be.

Otherwise, nothing else is new or exciting.

My schedule today... I will be working out this morning. I think part of my plan is to work the 30 Day Shred back into my routine... I also think I am going to cut out snacking for a few weeks. My snacking normally isn't very awful... It's always a fruit with a protein... but it all adds up. That, and Starbucks... I need to cut back on that - it's gotten a little out of control lately.

I will be starting my next custom order... I am very excited about this one too... It's a theme I've never done before.

I also hope to finish one of my side projects so I can start another.

I have to run to town this afternoon and grab one thing - I will time it so I can get the girls from school.

Gus is coming for dinner tonight. Not a clue what we are having?

And that's about it. :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! Prayers and good thoughts go out to everyone! :grouphug:

I hate getting new glasses. Even with our insurance that is supposed to be good, it winds up costing me at least $300 for the glasses once I add in the transition coating to make them into sunglasses as well as the better coating on the lens. And the stuff to make the lens extra thin. I think it is supposed to only cost $60- but once you add in all the extras it really adds up.

It's too bad that Target doesn't take your insurance. We used to get our glasses at Lenscrafter's before we worked at Walmart. At least Walmart takes my insurance.
I'm sorry Alli's trip was cut short and she didn't get to do much.
Yesterday my daughter and I dove to Fort Wayne for the Vera Bradley outlet sale. It took about 3 hours to get there. We had fun and there were a lot of good deals. I managed to restrain myself from buying everything I liked. It wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be everyone was well behaved not like my customers at work. Sunday seems like a good day to go because they start marking stuff way down so they don't have to pack it up. My daughter's already making plans for next year's sale. She can't see going to the outlets to by Vera when the prices are so much better there. I'm sure she'll change her mind. I can't see her waiting a year to buy new Vera. Next she wants to drive to Pittsburgh to go to Ikea. That's 3 hours in the other direction.
Today it's supposed to be almost 70. It's too bad I have to work this afternoon.
have a good day.

I just wanted to tell you how much I admire your appliqué work! I just started tackling applique and finished my first t-shirt. It is so hard! Your stuff is so neat and beautiful. Love it all! I'm starting to get better and do better with a skinny zigzag versus a satin stitch. I think I ripped out stitches as often as I sewed them yesterday. Lol.

We have crappy eye care insurance though they do cover our visits but not my contacts at all.

I am testing a pattern today for a friend and am playing with the idea of a pre-trip report for our cruise and November trip if I could come up with a cute title.

I am also trying to come up with a theme for a certain project D :) I had one but found a resale that fit that theme. So back to the drawing board.

My tummy is a bit off today but I am sure part of it is I overate slightly yesterday and was too much rich foods. It finally stopped bouncing.

I also have a Disney Survey to do.

No it's not easy. My cat was my best friend. It's really empty here now.

I really miss your bags in here. I see them on facebook. But it's fun to hear what you think about them yourself.
I hope you have a great day in your sewing room.

More adorable pictures of Cooper.

I'm sorry Alison didn't get to see a whole lot of Chicago. I hope if you and she come and hook up with Mo that I'll be able join you for part of it.

Oh - I know - those coatings do add up and get expensive. Thankfully for the girls and I - we just do regular plastic lenses (which are free to us) and the one anti-glare coating for driving at night/electronics - which is $20... So, our lenses do end up being pretty cheap. Josh's - on the other hand, are always very expenisve, not only his frames, but his lenses - his are very similar to yours, but he wears his all day every day - like V does.

It's too bad that Target doesn't take your insurance. We used to get our glasses at Lenscrafter's before we worked at Walmart. At least Walmart takes my insurance.

Yes, it's kind of a bummer, but it seems like our insurance is accepted everywhere else (including Walmart)... So, it would be nice if Target took it too. Oh well.

Ooooh, you know I am jealous about the VB sale! I wish I would have remembered you were going, I would have had you keep your eyes open for one piece I am looking for to complete my travel set... No worries though - I can get it at our outlet store, probably for not as great of a deal, like you said - but not as bad at paying retail for it either. :) I do love my VB bags though - and the girls and I use them all the time.

We had a beautiful day yesterday too... Today is supposed to be much the same - however - I will be at Target, so I won't be enjoying it. Bummer...

Lol.

Awwww... Thanks! It's taken me years of practice to get it this good... Not only that, but Victoria can pick apart an applique like no other... She can glance at one of my appliques and find every single flaw - which is annoying to me - so it's always my goal that she can't find anything wrong. LOL BUt I look back at some of my first appliques and I cringe - they were pretty bad. So, just lots of practice, and you'll get better. Great job for learning a new skill though - I love the freedom I have with hand appliques. I've debated on trying different types of satin stitch, but I am a little afraid to get out of my comfort zone.

That is such a bummer about your eye insurance...

I hope you do start a PTR... I don't think we overlap in November do we? I think we just miss eachother?

I hope your tummy is feeling better.

Yes, I need to chat with you about that project...

Did you do your survey?

No it's not easy. My cat was my best friend. It's really empty here now.

I really miss your bags in here. But it's fun to hear what you think about them yourself.
I hope you have a great day in your sewing room.

I am so sorry... I know it's so hard.

I know - he is just so cute. I cannot wait until tax season is over, so we are able to get Cooper pictures more often. :lovestruc

Yes, that is the plan, for sure. It will be a few years... I need to get these 2 trips to Disney done and the girls' 2 trips to Europe... Then we will try for a nice long weekend in Chicago. ::yes:: And hopefully we can all meet up. :thumbsup2

************************************************************************************

I had a great day yesterday...

I did a bit of shoulder specific lifting... Then I put my 30 Day Shred back into rotation... It felt good and I feel good this morning.

I worked in my sewing room until lunch time and finished everything I wanted to get done. ::yes::

Then I took my lunch and headed outside... It was a bit chilly, but it was sunny - my favorite way to tan. :)

I picked the girls up from school and ran a couple of errands.

Gus came for dinner and hung out for a while after.

Then we all went to bed.

Today is a Target day for me... Sigh. I am debating on taking a few weeks off when we get the puppy... It's going to be a LONG day for the puppy on the days I work at Target. If I do, I need to do it soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

All caught up! So excited for your new fur-baby. Welcome Cooper! It's funny... we hadn't had pets for the last 5 years... and we got two kittens last December. Now... I can't even remember what life was like before these two goofballs!

Nice to see your girls doing well. They have grown so much since I started reading your trip reports. Do they have any big plans this summer besides working? As soon as my 16 yr old is done with baseball. . He really wants to get a job. He's really wanting his own money. I love it when kids get that drive!
Have a terrific week!

Just checking in. Glad that Alli is home safe. Sorry to hear the trip was cut short.
That puppy is just too darn cute for words. I bet the time is going by so slow till he joins the family.
I had a minor car accident the other morning. My new car too. I was not a happy person. When the police arrived to do a report he asked the other person where the rest of his car. His reply, "oh that's from another accident". Good thing I only had a mental comment that moment. All in all I am ok, just annoyed that it is my new car and now the hassle of getting it repaired. Which I am going to do while I am Disney enjoying myself.
Have a great day!!!

No I don't think we overlap in November. We are there for Thanksgiving.

Give me another day or so I am searching for ideas for that project :)

I meant to ask if you needed anything but I forgot. We're planning on going next year so if you can't find it I can look then.
I hope you have a good day at Target
Taking time off when you get the puppy sounds like a good idea.

D~ your new puppy is soo stinkin cute!!! How lucky you all are to have each other to love!
I happened to see a bag on FB and oh my it was wicked awesome.. some lucky lady is gonna love it!!
Hope your day is fantastic!

I hope you have a great day at Target.

Today I have celebrated my birthday with my family. It was nice. (My birthday was on Saturday, but my parents hadn't come home from their Easter holiday in Spain then and I was at a meeting).

Hi D~:wave2:
Surfacing from my ocean of work to try and catch up. Well, I say catch up, really it's just skimming back a week and looking at puppy pictures. :dogdance:

We're toying with the idea of another dog, but none of us (except the cat) have puppy levels of energy, so we're looking at adopting an older dog. Maybe. Someday.

I did notice in my skimming that we're discussing a November trip here. We went in November once and it was beautiful during the day and FREEZING at night. I was teaching myself to knit so I had a half finished something in bright (and I mean BRIGHT) yellow yarn that Cale commandeered for a nose warmer. I have no idea if we got pictures, but we certainly should have.

We haven't really talked about upcoming trips - except the one in a couple of years when we go with some friends with their daughters for the first time. And Cale's been spreading his video propaganda, making people wish they were going to Disney World.

And don't ask about my health initiative. :rolleyes2 All I've managed to do is eat healthy enough to become aware of excess chemicals when I eat badly. Although, I did get on the heavy bag last night. And Cale put my exercise ball conspicuously in the living room. Of course he was doing it to terrorize the cat, but it did register as "Hey, I Should Use That!"

Pixie Dust to those that needs it!

I'm glad the eyeglasses got ordered and you'll be sporting a pair that goes better with your outfits. How on earth have you survived so long without matching??? HaHa! You are so darn cute! Be glad you have good eye insurance. My share to pay for the glasses I got last June was $500! And my insurance paid 1/2, so altogether they cost $1,000 bucks. Ouch!!

Please don't be discourage about your slower progress with the weight loss, body change. You've been so faithful in your eating and exercising. Focus on how much energy you have and on how beautiful your skin is and how great you feel. Those are the changes that matter the most. You are going great and have inspired countless others to make better choices. Embrace that and be proud, my friend!

Sounds like you were pretty productive in your sewing room. I'm sure you'll figure out what to do with your Goofy skirt. I have a friend who won't buy Vera any more since she moved her whole production to China or wherever. She loved Vera bags, but she said she'll never buy her again. Personally, I think your bags are way prettier than Vera's any day!

Well, I'm all packed and just waiting to get sleepy to go to bed. This is the first time I haven't been at least partially packed weeks before a trip and I'm just sure I'm forgetting something. I have to remind myself that we're not going into the wilderness, I can get pretty much anything we need once we're there. I'm really getting excited about the trip now that I can finally focus on it. I'll try to do some updates on Facebook while we're there if I can figure it out.

Meanwhile, have a fabulous week and I do hope your weather continues to bring you smiles and sunshine!

Yes - we are super excited to get Cooper... I hope he makes a good addition to our family. We've only ever had 1 dog at a time, so it will be very interesting having 2 - I think? I keep thinking to myself what a huge thing it is and some days I panic a little... but it's going to be a lot of fun, I think. ::yes::

I know - they have grown so much, it's scary. Not too many big plans... Allison is planning to work all summer, she is looking into possibly taking a summer class or two at the local college - however - I am not sure she is looking into it that hard? Victoria has made no mention about getting a job at all (which is fine) - just biking to our old neighbor's house (they moved about 4 miles away this winter - and she was at their house all the time). We do have season passes to our local amusement park - So I hope to do more of that than I have these past few years - it seems the last 3 summers, I've been knee deep in big auctions and haven't been able to do as much with the girls as I've wanted to... This summer, I am trying a different approach, and hopefully it works better for my family and I. Then, there's Gus, he leaves for college (4 hours away) at the beginning of June - I know he isn't one of my kids, but he does spend a lot of time here - this will be a very hard time for Allison and a big adjustment for all of us - we will all miss him.

Does your son know where he wants to work? He is probably really busy right now. I know Allison waited to apply for a summer job until the beginning of June last summer, and by the time the hiring process was over, she couldn't start work until the 2nd week of July... So, if I had any advice, I'd have him start looking a little right now, if he wants to start working right after baseball. :) Good luck to him.

When does pooper come home?

Josh and I are driving out to get him on May 2... He will be exactly 8 weeks old. Gosh - that's only 2.5 weeks away! I better get a move on puppy-proofing! ::yes::

Just checking in. Glad that Alli is home safe. Sorry to hear the trip was cut short.

Thanks Lynee... Yes - time is going a bit slowly... but I am trying to enjoy it before my life turns into utter chaos. LOL

Oh no!!! I am so sorry to hear this!!! I am glad you are OK - but very sad for you, the inconvenience and your new car! I sure hope you are able to get it fixed and back on the road soon.

Eeeep! Disney is coming soon!!!! :woohoo:

No I don't think we overlap in November. We are there for Thanksgiving.

Give me another day or so I am searching for ideas for that project

Bummer, no overlapping... How about Jan or Oct 2017? LOL

I meant to ask if you needed anything but I forgot. We're planning on going next year so if you can't find it I can look then.
I hope you have a good day at Target
Taking time off when you get the puppy sounds like a good idea.
Liz

No worries. :) Try to remind me next year, and I'll let you know. :)

I keep thinking about it - but I just don't think I will - after all, it's only one day per week. And I am taking off a lot of time this summer... Weeks at a time - so it's probably best that I work now. ::yes:: LOL

D~ your new puppy is soo stinkin cute!!! How lucky you all are to have each other to love!
I happened to see a bag on FB and oh my it was wicked awesome.. some lucky lady is gonna love it!!
Hope your day is fantastic!

Thanks! We are so excited to have him come home! He is growing so fast though!

Thank you! :lovestruc

Thanks - you too!

I hope you have a great day at Target.

Today I have celebrated my birthday with my family. It was nice. (My birthday was on Saturday, but my parents hadn't come home from their Easter holiday in Spain then and I was at a meeting).

Awww... Happy Birthday Lillian! I didn't know it was your birthday... I hope you had a wonderful day! :lovestruc

Hi Ruth!!! Thanks for stopping by - I've missed you!

Yes, I am a little nervous about the "puppy levels of energy" too. LOL I am hoping that MM will help with some of that? LOL As he still has lots of energy.

Rofl... Love the nose warmer - that cracked me up!

I believe that knowing what you are putting into your body is good progress and a definite step in the right direction. Small, baby steps are going to have more impact than big giant steps that you can't keep up with. :thumbsup2

Thanks for stopping by!!! As always, it's good to see you!

I'm glad the eyeglasses got ordered and you'll be sporting a pair that goes better with your outfits. How on earth have you survived so long without matching??? HaHa! You are so darn cute! Well, they aren't quite ordered yet... I am picking the girls up from school tomorrow to do that though. Yikes!!!! Those are expensive glasses!!!

You are right - very right... It's so hard not to get down on myself though... I've been on this road for 3 years now, and I never imagined that a) I would have stuck with it this long, but b) that it would take me this long to get here too. Sigh. But you are totally right and I need to remember things like that too. I continue to press on, as it is a lifestyle for me now, and I just cannot imagine my life any other way. :lovestruc

LOL - I do have a small issue with VB being made in China - I do have to agree with that, I would much prefer if they were made in the US. But - I adore their bags and the quality of them - especially when I am traveling. I don't have VB luggage, and I am not sure I ever will... but I have tons of other travel bags, and I use them all the time. And it's just icing on the cake that VB now carries Disney prints - I am in my glory! ::yes::

HAPPY DISNEY DAY today!!! :woohoo: I am so excited for you Lois and Dan... and little Miles too! YOu will have a fabulous trip! I will be stalking you on FB for photo updates! I cannot wait to see!

Thank you! You too!

Well, nothing exciting happened yesterday... Oh. Wait. Something exciting did happen...

Oh - yes... I booked my airfare to Maine for our annual Birthday trip/Epic Dismeet with Suzi and Mo! :woohoo: I just happened upon Southwest's website and flights were the cheapest they've been since I've been looking. This made me happy! So, I booked. It's official - you all have another Epic Dismeet to hear about when we get back! I am so excited to see Suzi and Mo again!

Otherwise... It was a Target day... So, it was pretty boring. But I was on Cloud 9 from booking my airfare - it was a good day.

Today... I will be doing my 30 Day Shred... Also some shoulder weight work and my ab routine. I don't plan to stick to my 30DS forever, but I would like to for the next few weeks... I would be super happy if I could wear my shorts this summer with out a muffin top. And even better if I could hit my goal size - but I am not going there yet.

Then I will be in my sewing room all day... I have applique work to do on this week's custom order, and then I hope to get started on another side project. ::yes::

If it's nice out this afternoon - which it's supposed to be... I am going to lay out and get some sun for a little while.

Not a clue what's for dinner tonight... I'll likely throw something together at the last minute. Sigh.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:
