They would have to pay me $ to eat at...

The places we will not eat at is
Earl Sandwich (just DH and myself)

Crystal Palace, my childeren and grandchildren tried ths place out 2 years ago. Service was horrible, manager had the IDK attitude, food was bland, my non picky sons ate off children bar as they said the chefs screwed up everything they tried to make.

Most of the sit downs we do are at Epcot, Downtown Disney, Bomas and Ohaunas.

Boomer.

Just curious, how much would they have to pay you to eat at crystal palace?

Tony's is just plain disgusting food. One of the only places where all our meals were bad.

I agre 100% with this. Server we had was rude too. We tried it a couple of years ago and went with the recommended items and I can honestly say it was horrible. I felt so bad for DH as it was my choice to eat there.

DH would agree but also add Le Cellier, overly salty and again poor service. They took our mains out while or starter dishes were still on the table. I did not have the heart to send it back because it would have just sat under a hot lamp until we were ready. And I have worked in restaurants and that is what most of them do to save wasting the food.

SCI FI we love and have always had good service and good food. We even tried the non burger options last year and those were good.

Just remember that we all have likes and dislikes....and EVEN some of my dislikes ...are only because I didnt care for that type of food....

So be good to everyones likes and dislikes...

PLease and thank you:goodvibes

For me it is Whispering canyon, you couldn't pay me to eat there again. It was mostly because of the waitress, downright mean more than in character. & I usually don't not go back to a place because of a waiter. I think she scared me away :lmao: But the food wasn't good either to some of it was really bad.

We like going to Tony's. To me it's on par to an olive garden, which I'm not that fond of & don't go to and outside of disney, we never go to chains anymore except cheesecake factory. We never had a "gross" or bad meal there and service has always been good.

Sci Fi too -love the atmosphere and the burgers & shakes are good.

I'm sure if you asked everyone, every restaurant would be on this list.

I think you're right about this! ;) Although ... it is interesting that very few (if any?) non-DDP restaurants have been mentioned. Maybe just a coincidence??? :confused3

Yes but considering the percentage of people who use the dining plans on their trips, more DDP restaurants are going to pop up. We've never gone without the DDP or the DlxDDP so in the 30 some restaurants we've tried they've all been on the DDP. So I would say it's coincidence.

One they would have to pay me to eat at? My opinions soften over time, and there's always another dish I could try so I don't think I have any hard and fast "never agains" on my list. You would be hard pressed to get me back to San Angel or WCC though. Only two places I have eaten at WDW where the food was truly awful ( to me anyway). At WCC in particular I disliked the skillet so much I barely ate and still felt sick after so there's zero chance I'd ever order it again.

We will never eat at Sci-Fi again. We tried it twice and the food we got was terrible. Loved the milk shake though. We really wanted to like this one, but twice is all we'll give it.:sad2:

We actually have always gotten good food at Tony's, Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier. :thumbsup2

I agree that you will find one place to be a "must" for some and that same place a "never again" for others. That's just personal preference and experience. We will generally give a place a couple of times before we give up on it.

And I don't know what could be wrong with Earl of Sandwich....that one really surprised me!:confused3

Very interesting how everyone clearly has different tastes and opinions when it comes to their food.
I travel alot and have seen and tasted varying degrees of great and awful. That is my taste but I have learned to be less critical of my food choices.

Just enjoy your vacation time and when you are really unsatisfied talk to a manager, it is their responsibility to make sure you are satisfied..
Cheers

Wow! I must be very extremely lucky (knock on wood) because I have never had an absolutely awful experience at any restaurant in Disney. That being said, I have always gone at "off" times, like end of September and beginning of December. Maybe when they are less overwhelmed and the restaurants aren't always swapped, they do better with service and preparing the food?

That being said, I have to defend some of my favorite! My whole family all loved Sci Fi and we cant wait to go there again our next trip. I had very good experiences at Akershus, Tusker House, and Crystal Palace too. Hollywood and Vine for breakfast was positively acceptable. Nothing to rave about, but we went for the characters and there was nothing "negative" about our experience.

We are preparing for another trip, at another off time (February) so I am hopping my luck will hold out, because I love eating at Disney!:upsidedow

Hollywood and Vine
Raglan Road
Boma dinner

I have only been to the World 3x, but I have not had any meal that was that bad. We never had really bad service anywhere either, so that probably colors my opinion.

Then again, I have been known to enjoy McDonalds, Kraft Mac N Cheese, Olive Garden, Golden Corral, etc...so even though I love all kinds of food and I can cook myself, everything doesn't have to be gourmet for me to like it.

I only have two places I would avoid but if it were free or a convenient choice, I would reconsider. Chef Mickey just wasn't worth it-the price is expensive, I don't enjoy the location and Mickey is pretty darn easy to see a billion other places. Cape May (dinner) was just a waste of time-the food was fine but I would have been just as happy with Red Lobster (would have preferred Bubba Gump though) and it was just so inconvenient with no special ambiance that I wouldn't waste my time.

Raglan Road - Just not our cup of tea.
Chef Mickey's - As much as I want to like this place, it let's me down every time.:sad2:

Fewer DISers eating at those restaurants, I think. I have seen Fulton's mentioned as a "never again" in a few dining reviews and I've seen one or two poor reviews of bluezoo and Ill Mulino as well. But for the most part I think the DDP/DXDDP restaurants see much higher volume, particularly among DISers/planners, and therefore are just more likely to come up.

Thankfully I've not yet had a meal that I was horrified at, but I will agree that WCC is a never again for me. It's loud, obnoxious and the food isn't even that good (although not as bad as some I've read about). I know some people love this, but it's a huge no for me.

I can honestly say that no place we have eaten in the world would qualify. After 15+ trips, I can say that a few experiences have been ruined by circumstances instead of the food. One in particular comes to mind, at Kona, parents who never taught a child that they need to sit in a restaurant. The child ran around while they enjoyed their supper, while servers and guest dodged and stepped over the child. When he did sit he was screaming. Our food was good--or memories of that night not so much.

I wouldn't compare it to Italian food - it's American - but with an 'Italian' base.

I agree with this and we enjoy Tony's as well.

We also liked the food Hollywood and Vine, for buffet food we thought it was pretty good. I agree tho that the chairs need to be changed.

We would probably only eat at Sci-fi again if they paid us, how much, well I am not sure. We loved the atmosphere but our food was awful... DH got a burger that he said was cold and disgusting. Our server was also horrible, rarely checking on, and took a long time after we were done to give us the check as we left we said no wonder we had to wait so long... (We did not mind waiting to be seated tho) The messed up burger was the reason we won't return tho, as it is pretty hard to mess up a burger.

50's Primetime!

I know tons of people love it there but never again for me. If they paid me to go there I'd only get a salad!

I have avoided eating at DHS except MM (always eat breakfast first and leave to eat dinner elsewhere). So I can't speak about the other places there.

But Chef Mickey's for dinner is the one place I would turn down a free meal. I'd take money to eat there though. :thumbsup2

Besides being noisy, chaotic, and disorganized, the food itself was astonishingly bad. :scared:
