They would have to pay me $ to eat at...

I agree with you on Coral Reef. But why Marrakesh? I feel it is one of the more unique restaurants in the World. Do you like Middle Eastern food and just don't care for Mrrakesh, or do you think it is the style of food (spices and such)?

I actually really like Middle Eastern food, but back when we ate there- the only thing that jumped out at me on the menu was a chicken dish. I know it's not currently offered on the menu, but it was very sweet...I remember it having raisins or something raisin like (I don't think it was dates)...and I recall our server telling us it would normally be pigeon vs. chicken. I think I went for it b/c I had eaten a pigeon based dish at a local Middle Eastern restaurant and really enjoyed it (may have been pastilla), but this was not that dish. The actual pigeon dish had some sweetness, but what we had at Marrakesh was horribly sweet and the flavors just did not go. It was kind of like dessert chicken. :rotfl2:

They couldn't pay me enough to eat at ABC Comm. again. I have similar feelings to lunch/dinner at Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fair and CRT, although breakfast at all of them is just that: breakfast. It seems the same no matter where you go. Not great, not horrible, just average breakfast.

Hollywood and Vine. And really, any character meal at this point (can't stand the prices and commotion).

Pinnochio's. Rude Workers, Food that just wasn't fresh, and not worth the money! EWW

The places we will not eat at is
Earl Sandwich (just DH and myself)

Crystal Palace, my childeren and grandchildren tried ths place out 2 years ago. Service was horrible, manager had the IDK attitude, food was bland, my non picky sons ate off children bar as they said the chefs screwed up everything they tried to make.

DD enjoyed Tonys about 3 years ago.

Never ate at Hollywood vine but did step in once to decide if I wanted to, it looked like a cafeteria. Not impressed.

We usually skip the counters at HS, MK and downtown Disney because we enjoy the ones at AK and Epcot so much.

Most of the sit downs we do are at Epcot, Downtown Disney, Bomas and Ohaunas.

Chefs De France - didn't even stay for the food because the tables, the silverware AND the glasses were all filthy - if it's dirty outside, it's worse in the kitchen - gross!

Chef Mickey!!

Also O'Hana and H&V.

Chefs de France is almost on the list...

Seriously?! Chef Mickeys is one of our favorites! The service was excellent, the food was delic! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The characters went out of their way to be accommodating. Not loving these negative posts -

Curious- which meal did you eat at Chef Mickey's? We really like breakfast there, but dinner was pretty bad when we went. Don't get me wrong, the character interaction was good at both meals - as was the service, but the dinner food - agree w/pp:sick: I was starving that day...no breakfast...barely ate lunch since the fam wanted Casey's and I'm not a hot dog person...and was praying for at least a decent dinner at CM's. Let's just say I ate like a piggie at Crystal Palace the next morning to make up for it. :rotfl2:

Yikes  I have an ADR here for our upcoming trip. Care to share why?

We loved Sci-Fi! The kids especially - and my daughter has been driving us crazy wanting to go back there again! We had great service and our server even offered to take a picture of our family seated at one of the car tables. Everyone can come up with a not-so-great experience to share. Be careful not to discount the great reviews based on a few bad ones. Chef Mickeys was also great, Crystal Palace - we sat right by the window looking out on the castle. Early morning b'fasts are especially cool because you get that walk down Main street before anyone uss in the park. It's pretty amazing & the servers weren't overly busy, tired or frustrated from dealing with whiny, tired our hard to please customers.

We did an early reservation breakfast - maybe 8:15. Less than half the tables were full & we got a lot more character time since they weren't too busy. Food was great. We were full w/ a great b'fast & energy to last lots of walking time in Disney

Chef Mickeys was meh.

And those nasty packaged greasy kosher plates have GOT to GO. For those who adhere to a religious based diet, it would be nice not to have to choke down these overpriced plates. Nas-tay!

Yup- we love Chef Mickey's for breakfast as well...it's just the dinner that needs A LOT of help IMO. I think most of the negative posts about Chef Mickey's you're seeing are likely concerning dinner and not breakfast. That's not to say that some people haven't had bad breakfast there, but it's the dinner that's usually the source of negative commentary. I remember DH and I making several trips up to the buffet...hoping we'd find something edible...and the mashed potatoes were the only thing that was worth eating.

Agreed; breakfast is doable, dinner is awful.

Really there's no where I would not go. Some are not as good as others but to me much of it is what you order when go and what are your expectations?

The reason I say that is because while several folks here say Tony's is the worst they have had, actually I have had one of my best meals ever at Tony's. It was a special and was a grilled veal chop, bone in, with mashed sweet potatos and a ceasar salad. Yes their pasta is dicey at times, but I never order it.

The character meals are always questionable in my mind because they don't always cater to fine diners.

Also many times the tone is set in such a way that before you even look at the menu you are guareenteed to have a bad meal. The wait was to long, your ADR was screwed up, etc. and that experience sours the whole meal. Add to that a bad waiter, bad service, or a noisey kid at the next table and the whole thing goes south.

THIS!

There are two on my list. The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street and what ever the China one is.

Though that being said my reasons have little to do with the food or service. in fact the service at the Plaza had been awesome when we were there. The issue is we were traveling with several families and they wouldn't make ADRs so we were stuck eating what was left - and I don't particularly care for American or Chinese fare. at least not that particular type.

For food I like I've had good and bad experiences. But we can clearly see what (IMO) caused the bad experiences each time. 1900 PF one trip and CP next trip - exact same problem both times. ADR for 8, don't get seated until 9, don't get food until 10 - pretty ticked off. Exact same manager from one to the next. We have a special dietary requirement and that manager will only allow the chef to deal with one allergy family at a time - so 4 of us booked for the same time and we were screwed. Different manager (even in the same trip) and the same restaurant was fine. The same can be said for chefs. We meet the chef at every restaurant and there are one or two that if we see him/her we'd happily just stand up and walk out vs eating the bland microwaved fare we'd likely get otherwise.

Many restaurants rotate chefs/managers from one year to the next - and each restaurant will have two or so chefs/managers per day- so who you get plays into what you get at any given time.

This also explains why I'd rate both citricos and Pop's the same: both absolutely phenomenal. The chef was amazing at both locations, service was great. Ohana - the chef was fabulous and remembered us. Not just from day one to day 3 of our trip, but from a previous trip at a previous restaurant. I  Disney

If YOU like it, that's all that's important, right? :goodvibes
We have given it a few chances and it seemed to get worse each time.
I probably would still tell someone travelling with young children to give it one shot, but we're done with it.

I will say that IMO, breakfast is a little better than dinner overall. (and I mean a very little)

Exactly. We really enjoy Tony's. We didn't expect to, it was all that was available one night when we went to MK instead of our originally planned park. Well that or Plaza - and I've already given my thoughts on that.

We ate at Tony's reluctantly. We've eaten there every trip ever since. I wouldn't compare it to Italian food - it's American - but with an 'Italian' base. We do speak with the chef prior to our meal every time, and we get gluten-free so it's not sitting in a pot all day prior to us ordering (I don't know if the regular pasta is, but I know many non-Disney restaurants that cook all their pasta for the day in the AM, and only cook more if absolutely necessary).

For us, it's Coral Reef. Not only was our food horrible, our service was beyond horrible (the woman actually sighed and rolled her eyes at me 3 times during our meal when I requested things like a cup of water for my son and a refill on my iced tea) and the thing that really sealed the deal for us was that we didn't even like the way the restaurant was set up...no reason to go back if you don't like the atmosphere because - aside from a total remodel, that's not going to change - even if the food improves and the services get better!
