They would have to pay me $ to eat at...

Just wondering if most Hollywood & Vine dissenters ate lunch and dinner? We eat breakfast there sand it is fine - not award winning but regular breakfast items. Nothing exceptional but not gross. Never tried it for other meals. I agree about the chairs and the theming - reminds me of a family buffet place like Golden Corral.

Now the place that I refuse to ever eat at again is Pizza Planet. Disgusting pizza, very disappointing theming and even more horrible is the price you pay for that experience. It was like cheap frozen pizza at a local skating rink or arcade. Really, how hard would it have been to theme more like Toy Story and pizza is better at a lot of other CS places - why not here? Disney would have to give me a free upgrade to Deluxe dining for me to waste any of my trip here.

We had breakfast & it was basically inedible. Never again!

Yak and Yeti or Yak and Yucky as we call it here. It's the only place we left hungry on the deluxe plan (we didn't eat most of the food).

We have always loved our meals at Sci Fi!!!! Their burgers are yummy!!! And i love their shakes. its true, stick with the burgers and shakes and you should be fine. We cant wait to go back!

After reading a few threads i realised that every single restaurant in disney has been mentioned as either "really gross" or "will not return". Every single restaurant! I'd only pay attention to the restaurant that constantly get negative reviews such as Tony's & Hollywood/Vine. Even then, if your curious about the place, go to the restaurant and form your own opinion.

Same here! We ate at Sci-Fi last year and really enjoyed it - I had the chicken sandwich and it was great!

My tried and true formula is to try something before making a decision. No one has the same tastes, so find out what you like and don't be influenced by other people.

Ohana for dinner (love breakfast)
Hollywood & Vine
Tony's was not good by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd eat there for free strictly because of the ambience and I could order a salad :lmao:

We actually love Sci-fi..can't go wrong with burgers and basics there IMO.

The only one that really stands out to me is San Angel Inn because the food is so bland. Have been three times over the years thinking it would get better but it hasn't. I will never waste my money there again, and I wouldn't waste a free dining meal there either.:lmao: Disney would have to give me a bonus meal there. :rotfl2:

There are places I have been to at Disney that I say I would never go back to again.

Many of the buffets, Yachtsmans, Le Cellier, and a few others.

But if they wanted to pay for my meal to try it again, I guess I would figure they may have made some honest improvements since I tried it last.

Sure, if they wanted to comp it, I'd try one of these places again.

I must be more cheap than most people: there's not a single place at WDW where, if it were given to me for free, I couldn't find something to eat. I'm not saying I have loved every single place I've eaten, but if it were FREE, I can't imagine a place I couldn't come up with something I would enjoy, or at least tolerate.

with Goofy in Toronto about Tony's. it was horrible three times in a row. I have eaten in Italy and the food at Tony's is plain awful!

I also agree about San Angel Inn. it got three strikes form us a few years ago and it would take a free meal to get us to try it again...

Gee, I really feel lucky!

After a horrible meal and horrible experience at LE Cellier, Disney DID pay me to eat there....

to the tune of over $300!!!!

It was so bad, I spoke to the manager, he asked what he could do, I suggested a full comp. He complied thank you very much.;)

Boardwalk Pizza window, I wouldn't eat there again if it were free.

The quality of food has really deteriorated in recent years, it's also absurdly overpriced which makes the poor quality even more bothersome.

For us, we would never eat at ABC Commissary again. We've tried it twice & both times it was nasty.
I've never been to Tony's, but plan on going in Sept. Hopefully, for us it'll be ok. Some people have stated it tastes like Chef Boyardee. My husband loves Chef Boyardee spagetti rings & ravoli, so if that's true then he'll be fine.

Tony's

and Mama Melrose

Surprisingly enough, I really like Italian food. I don't understand how they mess it up so bad.

Disney would have to pay me to eat at the counter service in Mexico....I can't remember the name La Cantina? My daughter got the loaded nachos and the ground beef was not cooked through....it was disgusting. Then again, I still may not eat there even if it was as a mystery diner.....nasty!!

Planet Hollywood at DTD...the food was horrible, portion sizes (on everything we ordered) were tiny (even the ones in our party who weren't big eaters didn't get enough food) and it was so incredibly loud that we couldn't have conversation at our table! We will never go back.

I feel bad saying Marrakesh or Coral Reef as it's been so long (and I mean LONG) since we've eaten at either...but the first experiences were bad enough that even menu changes wouldn't bring us back. i.e. so scared, I'd never waste my time even if paid to do so.

In more modern experiences...Tusker House breakfast and Chef Mickey's dinner are in a tie for the worst food we've had at WDW.

All of these negative Tony's stories really have me scared. :scared: I was feeling better about it after the thread I posted last week, but now I'm worried again. I really have no choice on this one - I think only a conflicting BoG adr would get me out of this one. I'm just going to try and not look at it as Italian food as I grew up in a predominantly Italian town and I'm quite particular about my food.

They would have to pay me to eat at ....

almost any restaurant since 1995. I don't know if its just that my mind thinks about "the good old days" when not so many restaurants were buffets, or if it is since the decline of free dining and the gradual shift to commonality between restaurants, or that I'm just more particular now that I know I only have a limited number of meals left in my lifetime.

Really, I'm probably like most. I'll tollerate less than stellar service for high end prices because I know I'm at Disney. Despite their medicore meals, I feel like $80 for a day of entertainment at the World is a deal. Considering I'd spend $150 for nose bleed seats to a good 2 hrs live concert. Not to mention, I live in Florida and we just used our 3 day, $99 passes. $33 to go to a Disney park - what a deal. End Rant.

I agree with you on Coral Reef. But why Marrakesh? I feel it is one of the more unique restaurants in the World. Do you like Middle Eastern food and just don't care for Mrrakesh, or do you think it is the style of food (spices and such)?

There's only one place that I'd have to be paid to eat at again is Pizza Planet at MGM (yes, I know it's called HS now, but I refuse to use it... LoL!). It was nasty, beyond nasty. There was no difference between a cheapo frozen pizza you get at a grocery store and the pizza we got. In all the years that I've done Disney, at all the places I've hit, I'd never, ever, ever eat there ever again. Our awful experience was in 1999, and while I know it's probably changed and may have gotten better... But it was so gross that I refuse, REFUSE to try it again when I know there are 100 other places that we like more that are less than 20 minutes away.

Other places that are on my "not gross but great, not a first choice to eat at" list are Cindy's Royal Table, Sci-Fi Dine In, and Rose and Crown. The food wasn't bad and I don't regret eating at those places, but that said there are places we enjoy more and would rather go to.

And to the people freaking out that places they have ADRs at getting trashed, everybody has different experiences and different likes... My favorite place to eat in the whole WDW property is San Angel Inn, and people listed it here as their "never eat at again" places. I would never, ever miss it. I also adore Coral Reef, which has been mentioned as well. So you won't know until you try. I dare say that if the thread goes long enough, every place to eat at WDW will be mentioned at some point by somebody.

At this point, they'd have to pay me to eat at character meals. Especially buffets. It's just not my scene, and we have no kids to appease/entertain.
