They were more like guidelines, anyway...

My week has been crazy also. I think I am on page three now too with both my PTRs:scared:

I wish I could yell at you for not sticking to your plans to get in shape but if I did that it would make me a hypocrite and I can't have that:rotfl:

I am so mad at myself for not doing what needs to be done to get in shape for this trip. I just can not seem to get myself in geer.:confused3

Glad to know I'm not alone. I'm still trying to get on it. We'll see how it goes. I keep reminding myself I'm going to have to buy new clothes if I don't drop these excess pounds. (I've got winter 'fat clothes,' but not summer. :rotfl:)

Joining in!! Loving your PTR. I look forward to hearing more details. Hope everything goes well with your Daughter.

Yeah! Welcome! Another commentator! (Would that be the best word?) Please stop in often, and don't hesitate to give me advice on the plans. :goodvibes
I popped over to your PTR! Looks like you've got a lot of good plans going. Oh, how I would love to visit Disney in the fall when the weather is perfect... maybe someday...
Do you have the plans for your overseas trip on your blog? (I checked it out, but didn't have time to get past page one.) I would love to hear about that one also! Sounds exciting!

I hope more lurkers stop in to visit... :listen: I'd love to hear from you... (HINT HINT)

Thanks!! I love traveling to Disney in the Fall. The crowds are low and the weather is beautiful. I definitely recommend making a trip during that time of year.

There is no overseas info on the blog. I am a bad blogger. I keep taking it in different directions and then losing interest. I should definitely start putting my overseas planning in it.

I can't wait to hear more of your plans!!

:offtopic: We interrupt this PTR for.....

SHOE PORN!

I apologize in advance to all men (and the occasional woman) who do not have this prime directive, but it's an impulse I cannot resist. And I just had to share with all the other shoe addicts out there. Cause, well, they're SHOES! Pretty, girly, cute shoes! :rolleyes1

If you're not into this, feel free to skim on by.
For the rest of my fellow shoe junkies, well, enjoy.... popcorn::

I didn't plan to go shoe shopping today, but then I saw the banner...

Clark's Oooh, my favorite!! :upsidedow

ON SALE :cool1: Even Better!!

How could I just :drive: by? I mean, really....

So... I got two pairs of sandals for the trip.

If I had had enough money, I'd have bought every style they had, in every color they had.

I  Clarks. Drool! So comfortable.

These are the two pairs I bought:

It's a pity I have a budget, cause I totally would have these too....

I still may go back for the blue ones, I just really, really like them. Sadly, it wasn't a big enough sale that I could talk myself into three pairs today. :scared:

Again, I apologize to the guys who may be reading this PTR.
Shoes are a genetic imperative. It's not something I can fight.

I promise to post some food porn at a later date, okay?? Thanks! :lmao:

I love the white ones you bought. I am also a shoe addict and love clarks shoes. Not only are they comfortable but they look so cute.

Love the ones you got but I really like the blue ones. I think you should go back and get them. ;) I have never heard of Clark shoes so I will have to check them out.

Clark's are great shoes, a good combo between "comfort", quality and not-ugly--they are not always cute but they are always comfortable. Those are cute, though. ::yes:: I heart Clarks too. And so where might I ask was this sale and do they ship to Canada???

Shoe porn. :lmao: Heard of food porn, there are some great food porn threads here, but not shoe porn!

Hi! Great PTR! Sounds like such a fun trip. My DH camped at Disney when he was a kid, they drove from CT...crazy! I make it my job to find cheap airfare so I don't ever have to do that :lmao:. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your planning and your trip. And I hope your DD's eyes are doing better...

I'm gonna be passing by that way again on Friday. We'll see if I manage to resist the temptation or NOT. lol. ;)

Cute shoes! :thumbsup2

Sorry, just a small locally-owned shop, so I doubt they have a website. :confused3 Hard to believe there are still a few of those places out there. :goodvibes
Gotta admit I stole the "porn" thing from the Dis. I'd never heard it used that way until all the food porn threads. Cracks me up.

I like the way you work. lol. DH was watching King of Queens last night. In that episode the hubs wanted to going camping and wife wanted to go to Paris. It was hilarious what they would do to try to get their trip. :rotfl: You're methods seem much more kind. lol.
Em's doing okay. No big changes yet, but sometimes it takes a series of injections to get any noticeable difference.

Although I'm not a shoe guy it's always nice to score a deal! Great work.

:thumbsup2 You're girl is one lucky lady: A woman is going on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, about something a guy finds completely yawn-worthy, and you still commented. Now, that's a gentleman. :lmao: Seriously, though, thanks. I was pretty happy with the deal!

Lisa, you are such an evil enabler.

I'm blaming you. :rotfl:

I drove by the shoe store again today. :drive:

And stopped.

And bought two more pairs. :faint: Oh, the shame. :lmao:

The blue pair AND an identical pair in tan. :scared:

I am so B-A-D. :rotfl2:

On the plus side, with this many sandals, I shouldn't need to buy new summer shoes for at least three years. lol.

And I'll have wickedly cute feet. :thumbsup2

I took my TEAS test for entry into the nursing program this morning and scored 'advanced' so I'm hopeful that by August, I'll be into the program and four short semesters away from an associates degree in nursing. :hyper: How cool is that! Pixie Dust and Prayers gladly accepted! :goodvibes

After that, I planned to take the additional one-day-a-week of course work to turn the associates into a bachelors. But, on another high note, my advisor pointed out to me that I may be able to transfer some of my gen ed, english, and cultural studies from my first degree and get my bachelors without jumping through all those hoops! How awesome would that be? pixiedust:

I've got to check with the administrator of the bachelors program, but she gave me a lot of hope! Crossing my fingers!! I'd love to shave off that final year. :thumbsup2

So, that was my good news.

Now for the crazy news.

Either I read the dates wrong for fall semester (which I doubt because DH was sitting right there with me) or the website had a typo and it has been fixed. Fall semester doesn't start until August, like I originally thought. :sad2::headache:

Now, I've got to decide whether I want to stick with our new dates: Fourth of July week or bump back to our original plan of going the last week in July.

The pros of sticking with our current dates:
The trip is Sooner!!
Fourth of July in Orlando will probably be a lot of fun.

The cons of sticking:
It's a holiday week so the parks will most likely be busier.
My boss would probably prefer I switched back. We actually have more work hours during holidays because we have to fill daytime hours when our clients are not at their day programs. So, taking a trip this week was a bit of a burden on him and the other staff. (Not that anyone complained, but still....)

The cons of going the last week in July.
I've got to wait longer for the trip.
I've got to rebook EVERY freaking thing. Again. The Disney portion. The universal portion. My vacation time at work. :crazy2:

The pros to going the last week:
Slightly smaller crowds at the parks, most likely.
I would be able to fit in an extra class during summer semester that I couldn't do with the earlier dates. (Still not sure if I WANT to, but I could...)

I'm gonna hit up the boss for his opinion this weekend. (The dreaded phone call again. lol) Hopefully, by next week, I'll have a final decision made. :p

Thoughts? Opinions? Anything else I didn't think of??
Oh, and yes, I do feel like a complete moron. I knew those dates didn't seem right, but I didn't bother to call and double check the information. Grrr. Lesson Learned. :teacher: I've been schooled. :rotfl:

First I love being an enabler when it comes to buying shoes. :cool1: Especially for someone who I suspect is like me and does not spend alot if money on herself!

Second - if it was me I would push the trip back to the original time. It would stink because your ticker would move out but in the long run I think you will enjoy your trip more without the huge crowds.

Last sending lots of prayers and pixiedust: that you get accepted into the nursing program in the fall!

I second pushing the trip back to the original date. I think it would make a difference with the crowds and that would help you enjoy the trip more. A lot of schools start back at the beginning of August so parents want to spend that last week in July getting their kids ready. No matter what you choose it will be an awesome trip!!

Well first...congrats on the nursing program! How exciting for you! :thumbsup2

As far as the trip...I'd say go back to the original dates. I think the crowds will be lighter and you will be happier!

More new shoes?? You naughty girl! ;) Never underestimate the importance of cute feet!! :goodvibes

Oh, congrats on the good results in your test. Honestly, I am an adult educator, and I have seen so many times that real "adults" (as opposed to 20 year olds) do soooo much better--they appreciate the opportunity to learn. I only wish I'd figured that out when I was building up my student loan! You'll do great, I know it.

And congrats on the new shoes too. Still a little jealous it's not somewhere I can get to. :rotfl:

Hmm. Personally I just hate crowds so much I'd avoid the holiday week. But YMMV. Can you try rebooking without cancelling to see if you can line most of it up at least? I know some things will require deposits, but maybe there are some you can just check out to make sure it's do-able before you start cancelling?

You know, about the shoes, I have a funny story. My daughter and I went prom dress shopping with my niece yesterday. As we were walking through Macy's, we saw the Clarks sandals I just bought. Except they had MORE colors. RED. Dark Brown. White. OMG, one cuter than the next. :bitelip:

No, I didn't buy any more. Swear! :rotfl:

BUT, my daughter fell in love with them. (I haven't revealed my little purchase at home yet, I just put them in my closet for warmers days.)

But, the rack literally called to her. (Where is a "siren" smiley when I need one?) It was the only non-dress window shopping we did all day. ::yes::

She tried on a pair and....

can wear the same size as me. :thumbsup2

So, I told her about the pairs I bought and promised I would share them. lol. (Of course, she r-e-a-l-l-y liked the red pair... lol). But, she was fine with the colors I had when I told her she could wear them. lol.

Now, I feel less guilty about my little splurge. :p

Yeah, that's our plan at this point.
I hope the crowds will be better and it does work better for us overall. Just gotta check on work first.

Well first...congrats on the nursing program! How exciting for you! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

As far as the trip...I'd say go back to the original dates. I think the crowds will be lighter and you will be happier!

Yeah, everyone's right about that. I've just got to get 'er done.

More new shoes?? You naughty girl! ;) Never underestimate the importance of cute feet!! :goodvibes

:lmao: Aint that the truth! Especially when you don't have naturally dainty and gorgeous feet. lol.

I certainly hope so. I will admit I feel a bit more driven than my younger counterparts. Of course, most of them don't have mortgages and children who will be going off to college in three years and insurance and medical bills and grocery bills and, and, and...
Ahhh, I remember those lovely years. :goodvibes Before I had to be a "real" grownup. :crazy2:

And congrats on the new shoes too. Still a little jealous it's not somewhere I can get to. :rotfl:

Macy's has them! Check on line. They even had a discount if you open a credit card account (can you do that?).

I think that's what we're going to do. It really does make more sense. I'm just annoyed that I'll have to change my reservations again (not that it's hard, just that I feel like an idiot :lmao:).

I can rebook without cancelling or messing with deposits. Found that out the last time I changed my ressies. :upsidedow
