They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

:rotfl: We ate at the garden grill during our stay too and lets say we werent impressed at all! Like he said I like dthe chicken nuggets my neice didnt eat better! LOL!

I thought the food was fine. Nothing too impressive but Okay. He disagrees But I loved the setting and the character interaction was some of the best we had.

Great installment! :thumbsup2 to your DD for getting on TT; my DD is 12 and she wants nothing to do with that ride!:scared: (She'll ride ToT over and over again though - go figure!)

We've given GG a few tries ourselves and have now given up on the place. Can't justify having an "o.k" meal there when there are so many restaurants at WS that we really love.

Looking forward to reading more!

She will ride ToT but not TT? :confused3 I am a thrill junkie and ToT packs quiet a whoolp. I think it might be beacuse you can see (hear) the cars zoom by. I am sure if DD6 had seen them there would have been no getting her on it.

That is excatly how I feel about GG. Its Okay food. We will probably skip it next trip with all the great places to eat at Epcot.

I want to read more! (And I am sooo jealous of those instant fast passes! I wish we could get those. It would make the wait with young children a LOT easier!)

We ended up getting another one on the trip too but you will have to wait and read about that. Honestly even without them we barely waited for anything, the longest waits were normally for shows. Either we just lucked out or I am the world's best planner. I want to believe it is the latter :rotfl:

Two points of view for the price of one, mixed with sarcasm and love :worship: .... more! more! more!

Just popping in to say that you two are doing a great job! I laughed out loud several times reading this!:thumbsup2

Looking forward to the rest......

LOL Glad you are enjoying it. Right now I am trying to pry HE away from WOW to work on an update but he isn't budging. Evil man!

WOW will suck you in even worse that Disney does. My two sons (ages 25 and 22) were hooked on it for a couple of years...... Disney is much more fun in my humble opinion.

I know. He even got me addicted to it for a little bit. And yes Disney is much more fun, but he is hooked on his Horde and nothing short of rehab will save him.

The Key to Having a Great Vacation

He Said - The key to having a great vacation is taking necessary breaks. The key to taking a break is going to your room. The key to our room didn’t work. Foiled again! This is after settling the aforementioned ticket problem from last webisode, and finding out where and what number our room was. I was off getting the luggage. Said luggage fell off the cart twice in transit. The Cat knocked down all the bowling pins! Over and over again. The foresight of the people running Pop was pretty intuitive. Entertain the childrens while their parents deal with any one of an assortment of lengthy waits and inconveniences.

She Said – I loved the whole feel of Pop, especially the cast members. The ones who set up the bowling game were especially nice, giving out rings and stickers and an assortment of stuff I’d have to keep track of. I don’t much care for the members at the front desk. They became like family. We saw them too much, didn’t like being around them, and had to deal with screw ups.

He Said – But I digress, those people work hard. Maybe we had bad luck, or maybe they just weren’t that good at keeping track of things. We were assigned to a room in the 60’s section. Play Doh building, lake side. Her request. Before heading to your room, get all your ducks in a row. Your key should have a little arrow on it. This would have been great to know before she had to walk across the resort several times.

She Said – Good news! I got to take a nap. No one died.

He Said – Somewhere along the way, we promised to take The Cat to the pool. Stupid move. Don’t promise… anything, except for beatings if they don’t behave. Make assertions, hint at stuff, but the moment a ‘we promise’ slips out it’s all over. Fortunately, The Cat conked out. She woke up a few hours later to find out that there was no time for the pool before our dinner reservation.

Around 6:30pm we were getting dressed for dinner, and The Cat was quite whiny about not being able to swim. We did what all parents do on vacation, and made a deal. In fact, we made another promise to get her to shut up. We promised pool time after dinner if she was good.

She Said – So dinner was going to be long. Very long. So this bribe turned out to be a great thing. Her Leapster turned out to be an even better thing. Yeah, I’m one of the parents that lets her kid bring video games to a nice restaurant. Sure beats the screaming that would have ensued otherwise.

He Said – At 7:45pm we had checked in for our 8pm ADR at the California Grill. We were told that they were already running an ungodly 45 minutes behind schedule.

She Said – I have to thank my lucky stars that the CM taking my dining ADR’s insisted that we book at least 2 hours before Wishes. If we hadn’t we would have been with all those people crammed like sardines on the viewing balcony.

He Said – I have three words for this place. Holy Freaking Crap. If I wasn’t on the dining plan, I would have crapped my pants. She liked her food. The Cat managed to eek by on what few things were kid friendly. I was sorely disappointed. I would have easily settled for a microwaveable pizza instead of that awful food with a high class theme and price tag. Either that stuff was too rich for my blood, or it was just plain awful. Considering that my ponch makes me an obvious food connoisseur, I think it was just bad. My appetizer was a bitter tasting mix of flavors that went together so badly they managed to merge into one awful taste. My steak was tasteless (A1 would have helped) and dessert was bitter. The orange soda was good though. That brings our count up to 10/75 orange sodas.

She Said- Okay He is just plain wrong. The food is amazing. I had the four cheese flatbread, pork tenderloin, and crumb cake and I loved it all. I didn’t love the wait. It was very long. But I thought it was worth it. The Cat didn’t agree but what six year old wants to wait an hour for a table and then sit for another hour eating? Still the food was fantastic and he is obviously wrong (as always).

He Said – “Hi, my name is She. I liked this stupid food cause it was so ‘spensive. Who cares what it tastes like if I can act like I’m all high class?”

Okay, I should be nice. Her flatbread wasn’t bad, I ate 4 pieces. I honestly think I just got the entirely wrong meal. To be fair, it looked good in the menu. Next time I’ll ask for a picture menu. The whole reason we ate at this high class place was to see Wishes. Wishes was really nice, you got to see a lot of MK lit up with multi-colored glows, and it was all synced to music. Lucky us, we weren’t crammed out onto a balcony, we sat only a few feet from the main window. After wishes I could have died for a magic lamp to rub for a few wishes myself. I was exhausted and wanted to go bed.

She Said - A note on Wishes. Its nice to see it from atop the Contemporary but nothing beats seeing them from inside the MK. Still it was nice to be eating a lovely dessert and having a glass of ice wine while viewing it.

He Said – Promises are stupid. The Cat had waited through an excruciatingly long dinner. I waited through an excruciatingly long dinner. The Cat wanted to swim. I wanted to go to bed. She won.

She Said - Yes it was almost 11 when we went swimming and after reading some seriously nasty posts on the Dis about night swimmers being too loud I strictly warned Cat that she couldn’t yell or carry on. And she didn’t, not that you could have heard her over all the kids that were.

He Said – Fortunately, we weren’t there long enough to create any real commotion. 15 minutes after we jumped in the pool we were out and getting ready for bed. I was spent. I slept good and hard too. I assume The Cat and she did too, but I was too far gone to care.

On the next webisode of Mister Pig – The Silence of the Splash

Man - you guys write well together!:goodvibes

Thanks for the California Grill review. I always wondered if it was worth trying -- and sacrifice seeing Wishes in person at MK. The prices do scare me away, though! I'm even more reluctant to try it now. I don't trust a restaurant that can screw up a steak!

I have very mixed feelings about Cali Grill. The atmosphere is great, and it's become a tradition at our yearly "meet" trip with our CIFs (Creepy Internet Friends;) ). Because of that, I love it. But I am not all ga ga about the food. It's pretty good. Some things (flatbread, sushi if you like it) are really good. Others (yes, the steak) are just okay. And not worth the price you pay, IMHO. I also agree that Wishes from Main Street is way better than from the Contemporary. Or from the Poly beach, for that matter.

I am impressed that you attempted to take your picky eater there! I would never attempt it with my kids. I have honestly never seen a thing on that menu (including the kid's menu) that they would eat.

Sorry for your card troubles. I have a feeling this isn't the last we'll be hearing about them....

I thought I subcribed to this but I guess not. Question...what is WOW??

You guys are great! :goodvibes

I am loving hearing this from both sides!! :thumbsup2

Aww Thank You! I am really glad people are enjoying it... and not calling the men with the giant butterfly nets to take us away!

I really loved it but Wishes is so much better at the MK. From the CG they aren't centered behind the castle but off to the side... its hard to explain but it isn't as magical. Also I think they need to crank the sound way up in CG, you can barely hear it over all the people- or they can leave it like it is and give the waiters duct tape to use on those people who feel the need to ruin such a magical moment by talking loudly about their food.

I want some CIFs! :: Pouts :: The setting is wonderful but his steak was kinda bland (mine was good- so I win  ) The Cat wasn't thrilled with her Mac and Cheese but she ate up every bit of her salad, she choose pudding for dessert and it was no good, actually it was bad, even HE (who loves pudding) wouldn't touch it after a taste.

:rotfl2: Love it! Love IT! LOVE IT! :lmao: You guys crack me up every time! I needed a good laugh today, so THANKS! :)

Aww. Glad you are enjoying it! :flower3:

WOW stands for World of Warcraft. It is an online game that is insanely addictive, seriously HE will need rehab to give it up. It is a blast to play (and I don't even like video games) but once you start there is no quiting. One day you will find yourself awake at 3am selling useless Murloc fins on the Auction House and then you will understand the power of the WOW. :lmao:

Hi Ashclan CIF!! :cool1: :rolleyes1

You were right Ash...this IS a cute lil TRIP REPORT!! Very!!

ITA about CG. Honestly. If it were not for the CIF's I don't think it would be on my list of must do's

I am with He. I love me some Disney Buffets. But I digress. Ohana is family style and it is yummolicious. (dinner)

Can't wait for more!! :cheer2:

One of my CIF's sent me over here and I'm lovin' it! ;)

AND - we were there from March 30 - April 6th too!!!!

I wonder if our paths crossed? I was the one carrying the red backpack :teeth:

He - sounds just like my DH. DH felt the same about Cali. But DH would never write a TR with me. I don't even know if he knows what a TR is.
I felt the same as She about Cali. Our kids liked it - but they are a little bit older than Cat. 8 and 11 at the time.

Looking forward to more :yay:
