There is NO random dancing at Disney! A June TR *NEW 9/19 *FINAL THOUGHTS*

Sanaa and shopping pictures coming tonight, I promise, but I have to add a bonus update here because I just realized I left out something very important in my AK day posts: an explanation for the title of my TR!! Yes, I guess I got a little too anxious to post about our day and forgot all about it, so here it is. We had boarded our jeep at Kilimanjaro Safaris all set for an African adventure, when the driver of our safari briefly went over some safety rules. He pointed out the sign attached to the front inside of the jeep that looked like this.

ak281.jpg

He said, “Stay seated at all times please, or as the sign clearly shows, No Dancing.” My family, clearly easily amused, thought this was funny. From then on, whenever we’d get on a bus, monorail or ride with that sign, one of us would say, “Remember, no random dancing.” Then we’d giggle like 7 year olds. There were several occasions when one of us would break into a dance just so we could say, "Look! I'm dancing randomly!" We love inside jokes in our family and this, along with a couple of others to be revealed a little later, will be forever cemented in our family lore of our 2009 trip to Disney World.

Very clever and hilarious! Our family does this too....something will strike us during a trip or a day out and we will have an inside joke throughout the day and it just makes the trip that much more fun! ;)

Coming along for the random dancing!!! Loving your TR so far. So glad to see a review of Sanaa with pictures. My best friend is Indian so I was happy to see things I recognized on the menu!!!

:lmao: to my shoe! :rotfl2:

I know!:lmao: I wish it would have been that easy.

Love the story about your title! I have never even noticed those signs. We have a couple of things from our trip too and it's so fun to say them now to relive a little Disney fun.:goodvibes

Thanks!:goodvibes Inside family jokes are great!

Sanaa looks interesting but not something that would be up our alley. I'm glad that you enjoyed your meals there.

That's one of the great things about Disney. There's something for everyone.:)

Sorry about the rain spoiling the SAB plans!

Oh that's ok. It forced us to climb into bed a little earlier than we would have.

:wave2: Hi! I hope you don't mind if I tag along here!

Tag away! I'm glad to have you.:goodvibes

It's been a long time since I hopped on a TR of someone I don't know but your title lured me in and I'm hooked! I used your handy dandy links to get all caught up and even perused your pre-trippie too! What fun you are having so far!

Aw, thanks! I'm glad the links came in handy.:goodvibes We had an amazing time, mostly. It was a month today exactly that we checked into the Beach Club.

Another thing that drew me in is that I am from SW Michigan too! I grew up in Battle Creek. :goodvibes

Battle Creek? Get out! That's about 30 miles from us.:) My husband and I both attended Kalamazoo College. Good luck with your move!

Love the origin of the trip title! Too cute!

I just have to add that we do that, too! :lmao:

I can totally see it!:rotfl:

Great update about shopping and Sanaa! I love Amelia's bracelet! If I had seen it, I would have probably bought it, too!

That bracelet was a great purchase for her. She's worn it almost every day since she bought it.

Sanaa looks very good -- it is definitely on a next-time list!

Oh yes, definitely worth a try. Good food and good atmosphere, which you know all about!:goodvibes

Oh my! What gorgeous presentations! :lovestruc

Sadly, I don't think we'll be trying Sanaa, even though we'll be staying at Kidani. The kids are pushing for breakfast at Boma instead.

Boma looks really good too. George got the final vote on this one and decided we already had enough buffets on our itinerary.

Tricia would love that bracelet! It's so pretty!

There were matching necklaces, too!

Sorry for the rain :umbrella: but at least you got to bed early! I'm looking forward to hearing all about your MK day!

Yes, I think it worked out for the best, although the Siren song of SAB was always in our ears.

Kathy

LOL! that's awesome!

Both are from DS8. He kept calling baggage claim (at MCO) baggage clam.

It cracked us up the entire trip and he STILL calls it baggage clam.

And for some reason he can't say Epcot correctly. It's Eckpot. no matter how much we all laugh and giggle, it's Eckpot. And the name has become contagious.

Contagious to jello.

Which is some really random saying of DS10's that I can't even remember where it came from. Oy, I must be tired, I'm getting silly :lmao:

Must have been the 2 day road trip with 4 boys, one of whom kept yelling

PEANUT BUTTER!

for no apparent reason.

Too funny!:lmao: Maddy has been know to say, at strange times, "My favorite color is pony!"

Oh my! You had me at cardamon butter
And then...saffron cream

:cloud9:

I am SOLD. Sanaa is officially a must do now. If for NO other reason than that cake! I MUST have that cake. And I am not a dessert person.

DH would love those lamb chops and we would all love the Naan sampler.

I say go forth and enjoy!:goodvibes

Hi!
I am really enjoying your trip report :goodvibes
I just wanted to let you know that if you wanted to get some more disney recyclable bags they sell them at the Disney store for the same price

Thank you!! I'm glad you posted and hope you'll post some more.:goodvibes Thank you, thank you for the info about the bags. I'm definitely going to order some more.:thumbsup2

Great Update!!:thumbsup2

I love the bracelet and the reusable bags!! Oooh... I can't wait to go back and do some shopping!!!:woohoo:

Glad you enjoyed Sanaa.:) Everything looks so yummy!!!

Disney+Shopping=Good!

What a great update!
Now I need to get reusable bags, buy that bracelet, and eat at Sanaa!! :rotfl:

Glad I could enable.:rotfl:

Very clever and hilarious! Our family does this too....something will strike us during a trip or a day out and we will have an inside joke throughout the day and it just makes the trip that much more fun! ;)

Hello! We had a lot of fun with this one. There's another one coming up on our Epcot day that we laughed at even more!

Coming along for the random dancing!!! Loving your TR so far. So glad to see a review of Sanaa with pictures. My best friend is Indian so I was happy to see things I recognized on the menu!!!

Yea!! Glad you're here.:goodvibes I think the menu is pretty authentic, but MUCH less spicy than other Indian food I've had. My children, son in particular, is Naan CRAZY!

I'm lovin' your trip report! Can't wait til the next post. You have such a cute family - I'm sure you all have a great time wherever you are! But especially at WDW!

Vicky (Captdonswife)

Hi Vicky.:wave2: Thank you for the kind words.:goodvibes We usually have a great time together on vacation, but we do have our moments!:scared1::rotfl:

How did I get so far behind on your TR? So sorry!

I love that bracelet! So pretty!

The fan in the hair is rough. I love the look on your daughter's face in that picture.

The turkey legs look super yummy!

I love the reason behind the title of your TR! Hilarious! My dad & I have the same sense of humor as your family. That's the stuff great family memories are made of!

I had never even heard of Sanaa. Now I wanna try it! It looks so delish!

Looking forward to your next installment! popcorn::

Finally all caught up... I took notes. :goodvibes

:scared1: to the lost KTTW card! :thumbsup2 to Guest Services for a job well done.

Those turkey legs crack me up. We should have tried one this year, but we didn't. I guess that's one more thing to add to my list for next time. ;)

I love FTBBQ - I think it is definitely one of the best values for CS restaurants. And the food is always good. (maybe not the beans though) :rolleyes1

Kali River Rapids... Still haven't been on that one, but I have heard it's short. Tim & Alex have ridden it a few times and enjoyed it. (And gotten soaked. ;)) And as far as the chafing goes - more TMI here - Tim has that problem all the time at Disney... :rolleyes1

FOTLK :lovestruc:lovestruc That's all I have to say about that.

Random Dancing!!! Love it!!

Amelia's bracelet is beautiful! She has very good taste. :thumbsup2

I love my Disney shopping bag. I only have one because I gave one to my MIL. I definitely wish I had bought about 10 of them. It makes me happy too. :cloud9:

Glad you enjoyed Sanaa! I'm still not convinced that it's for picky eaters though.

Battle Creek? Get out! That's about 30 miles from us.:) My husband and I both attended Kalamazoo College. Good luck with your move!

Yep, I wouldn't lie about something like being from BC! I'd make up something far more glamorous! :rotfl2: My DH and I went to MSU, got married and moved to Dearborn, then Dexter, then back over to the west side to Mattawan and then to North Carolina.... now we are moving to Florida (still 6 hours from WDW though ). Ei-yi-yi! We're like gypsies! :sad2:

Anyway, sorry to hi-jack! Just always nice to run into "hometown" folks! :goodvibes

Carry on! I'm ready for more! popcorn::

How did I get so far behind on your TR? So sorry!

No worries!:goodvibes

I love that bracelet! So pretty!

Me too.:)

The fan in the hair is rough. I love the look on your daughter's face in that picture.

I think sheepish may be a good way to describe it.:rotfl:

The turkey legs look super yummy!

They are super yummy, and super huge!

I love the reason behind the title of your TR! Hilarious! My dad & I have the same sense of humor as your family. That's the stuff great family memories are made of!

So you're crazy too?
Yea!:yay:

I had never even heard of Sanaa. Now I wanna try it! It looks so delish!

I think its only been open a few months.

Looking forward to your next installment! :

I'm working on it now.

Finally all caught up... I took notes.

Hi Amy! How's summer school going? Any more camping trips planned?

:scared1: to the lost KTTW card! :thumbsup2 to Guest Services for a job well done.

No kidding. I couldn't believe how quick and painless getting it replaced was.

Those turkey legs crack me up. We should have tried one this year, but we didn't. I guess that's one more thing to add to my list for next time.

I always picture Bam Bam from the Flintstones when I see one.

I love FTBBQ - I think it is definitely one of the best values for CS restaurants. And the food is always good. (maybe not the beans though) :rolleyes1

Agreed. FTBBQ beans=Icky

Kali River Rapids... Still haven't been on that one, but I have heard it's short. Tim & Alex have ridden it a few times and enjoyed it. (And gotten soaked. ;)) And as far as the chafing goes - more TMI here - Tim has that problem all the time at Disney... :rolleyes1

NOT a fun problem to have!

FOTLK :lovestruc:lovestruc That's all I have to say about that.

ITA.

Random Dancing!!! Love it!!

Amelia's bracelet is beautiful! She has very good taste. :thumbsup2

Yep, she did well.

I love my Disney shopping bag. I only have one because I gave one to my MIL. I definitely wish I had bought about 10 of them. It makes me happy too.

PrincessCaitlinposted that they're available on the Disney shopping website!

Glad you enjoyed Sanaa! I'm still not convinced that it's for picky eaters though.

I guess picky is a relative term.

Love the explanation of the TR title! Too funny! :lmao:

Hey lady! Glad you liked it.:goodvibes How are your plans coming?

Yep, I wouldn't lie about something like being from BC! I'd make up something far more glamorous! :rotfl2: My DH and I went to MSU, got married and moved to Dearborn, then Dexter, then back over to the west side to Mattawan and then to North Carolina.... now we are moving to Florida (still 6 hours from WDW though ). Our first Magic Kingdom day dawned bright and early and by 8:15 we were at the turnstiles waiting to be let in. I don’t have any pictures of the opening show, because we were on the far right, but it was very cute. The plan this morning was for George, our all time FP runner, to go ahead and get FP for Buzz Lightyear. The rest of us would pick up a rental stroller for Ian and meet him at Buzz. All went smoothly and the kids and I met George in a fairly empty Tomorrowland to ride Ian’s most anticipated ride of our trip. We walked on with no wait and were soon battling the evil Emperor Zurg.

116.jpg

I truly stink at this. I can’t ever figure out if I’m hitting anything, but I still like it. The Toy Story ride at DHS has taken some of the shine off Buzz, but I still think it’s a great ride!

118.jpg

When we got off Ian immediately wanted to ride again, but we explained that we had some other fun rides to experience and that we’d be back to ride Buzz Lightyear later with our fast passes. He seemed ok with that, and we headed toward Fantasyland.

119.jpg

On our way we found a photopass photographer.
A note on our photopass pictures: We joined a share are finished editing and the CD will be sent to our leader the beginning of next week. I’m assuming I’ll get my CD about a week after that, and then I’ll post all of my photopass pics of our trip up to that point.

We also saw this lady coming out and I just had to stop.

120.jpg

She was absolutely awesome, telling the girls that HER daughters would never make the faces that the princesses on THEIR shirts were making. She also asked Ian if he would like to marry one of her daughters and he said YES! She told him to come back tonight and he promised not to forget. ;)

121.jpg

Once in Fantasyland we started with a ride in a honey pot at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

122.jpg

124.jpg

Notice that someone decided to take mom's advice today and put that hot hair up.:rolleyes1

Next we rode Peter Pan and then it was time to leave Fantasyland for Toontown. George and Madeline walked directly to the Railroad for a ride over to Frontierland to get Splash Mnt. fast passes. I took Amelia and Ian on Goofy’s Barnstormer, the only rollercoaster Ian was tall enough to ride. Turns out that wasn’t such a bad thing. He was NOT impressed with the Barnstormer AT ALL! In fact, I thought the poor boy was going to have an aneurism half way through. From this time forward every ride was subject to Ian’s Standards for an Acceptable Ride: Is it fast? Are there downs? No? Let’s ride! Since he measured 39” most rides worked just fine. Although we got into some trouble on Pirates of the Caribbean later on when we forgot about the one “down”.

Ian would probably name this Goofy's Death Defying Ride of Doom.

126.jpg

Amelia however thought it was scads of fun.:)

127.jpg

Anyway, Amelia, Ian and I made our way over to the railroad for our ride to Frontierland. I had read that if you had a rental stroller you should leave it parked at the railroad entrance and there would be another to pick up when you reached the other end. I followed directions, but it came back to nibble me on the rear. The CM at the front of the line told us all that the train had been delayed and it would be another 20minutes until another one came. What to do? I was about to take the kids to the little playground near the train stop when what to our wondering eyes did appear? Characters!! They were just coming out behind a building near the train tracks. We raced right over and were first in line to see Marie.

128.jpg

130.jpg

We were second to see Stitch.

Stitch the Belly poker.

132.jpg

I guess I thought Amelia was looking at me?:confused3

133.jpg

Finally, this guy looked so lonely we had to visit him, although the kids weren’t too sure. He’s Wendell, one of the Country Bears.

Arm's length, please.
134.jpg

Does he not look deranged?
135.jpg

The train was coming at this point so we climbed aboard for our one and only train ride of the week. While we were chugging along Madeline called. She told me that a nice family had given she and George some fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I asked her if they had just gotten two and she said yes, they had three to give away but they only took two. Hmmm. I asked to talk to George and reminded him that BTMR was a ride that Amelia wanted to do with he and Madeline and asked why he only took two fast passes when three were offered. He’d forgotten about Amelia wanting to ride. Ookay. He and Madeline decided to ride with the fast passes and then ride again with Amelia when we got there. Getting off the train at Frontierland, I looked around for a replacement stroller and found none. Grrr. Now we'd have to track down another one and frankly, I didn't really feel like it. We found George and Maddy just getting off BTMR and all realized that we NEEDED to find some lunch. We could feel the heat and hunger sucking all of the civility out of us. I was hoping for Columbia Harbor House, but everyone else wanted Pecos Bill and since it was closest, Pecos Bill won out. We ordered using the handy dandy computer screen. George and Madeline had double bacon burgers, I had the regular burger and the kids got the kids burger. Sorry, no pictures, but we pretty much inhaled the food. I would have faced major mutiny if I'd have made them wait for a picture. The burgers were meh, but the toppings bar was great, and the fries and carrot cake we got for dessert were extra yummy. With hunger satisfied, we had a choice to make: Do we try to replace the stroller or do we have Ian walk the rest of the day?

Next Post: More MK and a missing child!

Great update. Lots of character interaction. I love riding Buzz, DS gets so mad if I beat him.

Great meet with the Stepmother! Watch out for your future daughter-in-law:rotfl: That Goofy's Barnstormer is a little deceiving. It's short, but does go really fast. My thrill seeking 4 year old loves it, but he also loves Splash Mountain so he's definitely not your typical 4 year old:lmao: I remember my 7 year old went on it when he was 4 and felt the same way as your DS. Oh and how fun you got to see all those characters with no wait! Your own secret character spot:thumbsup2 I hope you get another stroller.

I love these two pics.

We also saw this lady coming out and I just had to stop.

120.jpg

Wouldn't Lady Tremaine be a hoot as a tour guide of MK ?

Ian would probably name this Goofy's Death Defying Ride of Doom.

126.jpg

:lmao:

We raced right over and were first in line to see Marie.

Marie!

Does he not look deranged?

Oh. My. :scared:

I hope you got another stroller and a missing child ?? :scared1:

Okay first, great update! I had a few comments to make but I cannot remember what they were cuz you said "missing child"!!! :scared1: Please don't leave us hanging too long!!! :guilty:

Oh my goodness! I love character jackpots! I hope to hit a few in the Fall! :woohoo: Those country bears are scary looking. Very unDisney like.

Too funny about the hair being up today. Hehehe. Totally something I wouldn't have listened to my Mom about either until I learned myself. :rotfl2:
