Hello Everyone!!! Doing the happy dance because we just booked a YC CL stay for Nov. 29-12/6!!! :cool1:

I have stayed at the Beach Club twice before, and at the Boardwalk, but never at the Yacht Club, so I am very excited!

We are going to have 5 in our room, so we are "stuck" with Standard View. Has anyone else stayed Standard View Club Level at Yacht Club that has pictures of their view?

I'm probably not supposed to post this here but, to be helpful, touring plans .com has views from many rooms including some Standard View rooms at YC. I had one looking out the front (towards the convention center) over a pretty unattractive roof. But I just didn't spend as much time looking outside as I would have if I'd been given a nicer view.

Is it possible to request a late checkout? Is so, what time do they let you check out and how much does it cost if anything?
Thanks!!!

Would love to know this too! Our departing flight doesn't leave until 8pm! We were going to go to the parks but having the room a little later would be very helpful!

Clear out your pm's!!!! I am soooo happy you were able to get the discount. It's amazing isn't it. It really helped us - I think I might become an August convert if they keep this deal next year!

LOL!!! You can blame Scott and yourself! We just chat it up too much!!! :)

Cleared them. Made some room.

The deal was amazing!

My family came to stay at the BC with us last weekend and wanted to swim in the morning. They gave them a 1:00 check out time instead of the 11:00.

Oops!

And yeah, how about that discount? How else would we be staying BC, YC AND GF?
Can't wait!
Home sick today, so I'm hoping to update the PTR.

I am, but I still haven't had nearly the amount of time I need to plan! No dining reservations in place for Disneyland OR Hawaii.

Disneyland is not the dining frenzy like it is at Disneyworld. You can only start making reservations 60 days out and even a week in advance you can likely still find what you need. The one thing that might book out is if you want to do the Fantasmic Dessert Package (which I highly recommend).

For sit down restaurants, Blue Bayou is the 'premiere' restaurant of Disneyland, and it certainly has the atmosphere going for it, although we generally prefer Cafe Orleans, which is next door, cheaper, and shares the same kitchen. At DCA, Carthay Circle is the premiere restaurant, but if that's too pricey/fancy for you, I would recommend Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian. If you go for breakfast, they have a very nice 'woodsy' themed character breakfast, which is a little different from WDW character meals.

Downtown Disney has a lot of good choices, so pick to your individual food tastes. It is easy to get to from the park, so it is no problem to hop in and out for lunch.

HTH!

We've done late checkout which was free of charge and 1pm instead of the usual 11am. We requested it the day before we were checking out :)

Hi everyone!

Just checking in! It has been so busy with summer travel sports kicking in and school ending. Very excited about everyone's upcoming trips and can't wait to read back and catch up.

I am so excited to report that I just booked my room for the princess half next February. We ended up going with the 2 bedroom suite over at BWI. The YC one wasn't big enough and I was too nervous about BC renovations in Feb.

Even though I am across the lake for this trip I will still be over there visiting my favorite Teena! :-)

I am, but I still haven't had nearly the amount of time I need to plan! No dining reservations in place for Disneyland OR Hawaii. Still haven't decided about a rental in Oahu. I know you recommend it, and I was about to pull the trigger...

Then heard a report that the top two worst driving patterns in the country are LA and Honolulu. That scares someone from Boston, which didn't even make the top 10!

:drive:

I'll keep you posted. :)

:)

Dee we live in Jersey. Driving there was no worse than driving here. In fact it was better there. If you deal with any amount of traffic at home, you will have no issue there.

Dining I seriously recommend dinner at Dukes in the Outrigger Waikiki. Great food, reasonable prices and amazing view.

Great news! :welcome:

I'll add you to the list. How long are you staying?

:cool1:

Sorry, we will be there July 26- August 1. This sudden trip was a wonderful surprise for us but it sure is giving me a headache trying to find ADR's!:headache:

We had a standard view on the fourth floor. Beneath us was a cinder roof but you could see the top of Spaceship Earth and the tall pine trees were the view looking straight ahead. It was very quiet and serene to me. I was surprised because I worry I get too picky sometimes.

Is the Solarium a restaurant or a place? How would I plan to eat breakfast or dinner there?

Thank you for asking. I'm very interested in the answer, as well.

The Solarium is a lovely room located just around the corner from the BC Marketplace. If you go to the 1st page of this thread & scroll down to post 6, there are some pics there you can see.

After reading a bunch of posts, I see I'm not the only one planning a Magical Vacation for the month of August. ;) We had always wanted to stay at the BC/YC after visiting it during one of our trips. Now, we finally have the chance with such great rates! Yay! :woohoo:
