I'm considering YC for the villains event. And by considering I mean I put a deposit down lol. Lagoon view :)

Since it might be just the weekend we are still wavering between YC & budget-friendly CSR depending on our intended trip style. CSR would add a night and be more park oriented. YC would be more leisurely making sure we enjoy the balcony (never had a balcony at WDW before) and a lot of time at SAB when we're not at the event.

I'm curious if anyone finds SAB to be like bath water in August?

I know the pool is heated but when it's hot out we like a refreshing dip that is cooling.

Anyone have any opinions?

Definitely not cold!

We have been 3 times in July. The first year, 2009, I found the pool to be too warm for my liking. The following year SAB felt much better and this July the pool was also comfortable.

It probably varies depending on what the weather is like that week, and if it gets very cool overnight.

Live report:

Phew!!!! I'm exhausted! After having breakfast in the CL lounge, we headed to Epcot today. We were able to get lots of rides in....TT single rider 3X, M:S twice, SE, Soarin', Nemo, Sum of All Thrills and Living With the Land. Lunch was Sunshine Seasons and dinner at Yorkshire County Fish Shop. Everything was delicious!

The cross are low. Really low compared to what we are used to in mid-July. At one point in the early afternoon standby for Soarin was 45 minutes!!! Unbelievable!

I'm back at BC for the night with our DD11. She fell asleep while we were taking a quick break before heading over to DHS. DH, DD14 and DS 13 headed over there a half an hour ago. The desserts in the lounge are yummy....lemon bar, chocolate cake and rice Krispy treats. :) I'm waiting to watch Wishes from our room. We have a nice view of Spaceship Earth too!

We are going to MK tomorrow after spending some time at SAB.

Sounds lovely!

:cool1:

Thanks for the pool reports! That's what I was imagining... I was surprised during my April stay at how warm the pool at CSR was!

Hi everyone,

I asked the yacht and beach club IPO about renovations recently and this is the e-mail that I received.

Good Morning Crew,

We do know that renovation will be starting late summer, the exact dates are not posted as of yet. The lounge is to start sometime in the middle of July but again no definite date. Sorry! Wish we could give you a more definite answer.

:welcome: to the thread!

When is your trip? Would you like me to add you to the Be Our Guest list?

:woohoo:

Sorry, we will be there July 26- August 1. This sudden trip was a wonderful surprise for us but it sure is giving me a headache trying to find ADR's!:headache:

Got it! Thanks.

:thumbsup2

Hello everybody,

Sooooo happy cause we decided that we'll come back to BC in May 2015!!!
:banana::banana::banana:

This time we'll do CL (first time), I'm so excited.
Everybody around me is telling me I'm crazy to plan my holidays 1 year in advance, but I know that on this forum you'll understand me ;-)

Could you please add me to the Be Our Guest list?

Thanks a lot :-)

:welcome: back!

Happy to add you to the Be Our Guest list

:cool1:

We ate breakfast every morning after discovering the Solarium. It was a wonderful relaxing place to eat! :cool1:

Don't know if you have posted here, so just in case...

:welcome:

:goodvibes:

Even though I am across the lake for this trip I will still be over there visiting my favorite Teena! :-)

Disneyland is not the dining frenzy like it is at Disneyworld. You can only start making reservations 60 days out and even a week in advance you can likely still find what you need. The one thing that might book out is if you want to do the Fantasmic Dessert Package (which I highly recommend).

For sit down restaurants, Blue Bayou is the 'premiere' restaurant of Disneyland, and it certainly has the atmosphere going for it, although we generally prefer Cafe Orleans, which is next door, cheaper, and shares the same kitchen. At DCA, Carthay Circle is the premiere restaurant, but if that's too pricey/fancy for you, I would recommend Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian. If you go for breakfast, they have a very nice 'woodsy' themed character breakfast, which is a little different from WDW character meals.

Downtown Disney has a lot of good choices, so pick to your individual food tastes. It is easy to get to from the park, so it is no problem to hop in and out for lunch.

HTH!

Dee we live in Jersey. Driving there was no worse than driving here. In fact it was better there. If you deal with any amount of traffic at home, you will have no issue there.

Dining I seriously recommend dinner at Dukes in the Outrigger Waikiki. Great food, reasonable prices and amazing view.

Thank you both for your suggestions and input.

Live Report; I'm watching IllumiNations from our balcony. It's a gorgeous evening here at WDW! Amy woke up so we were watching Up on Disney Channel before the fireworks.

My Fitbit says I walked 17,000 steps today. My body concurs....it's tired and sore. What happened to my youth?!?! Back in the day we could do rope drop until close while pushing a stroller with a four-year-old and keeping track of our 6 and 8 yr olds. It's all downhill past a certain age! Oooofffffff!

Keep the live reports coming, it gets me so excited!!! :) Sounds like a great day!

We just changed our reservations, we are at YC from Aug 20-26 instead of Aug 20-28. We added GF from 26-29, so we get Disney for 1 extra day, YAY!! A lot of firsts for us, first time staying at a Deluxe resort, first split stay, first visit to the dark side, and first time driving instead of flying!! Woohoo! Can't wait!:cool1:

We are staying 4 nights GF, then 4 nights YC too! How are you planning your trip? MK/AK while at GF then Epcot/DHS while at YC? I'd like to exchange ideas about how you will plan your trip. We hope to also do one of the water parks (weather allowing hopefully).

We will be there January 2015.

Hi all!

We have booked the Beach Club for August 2015 for two weeks. While we are there my daughter will be 11! Yikes how did that happen?!

I have been lurking here for a while. We booked a Garden View room and thanks to your fab tips requested a large balcony and day bed - I know that they can't guarantee thanks to all of your advice!

First trip for us as a family of four, ds will be 15 and dd. DH and I travelled in 1998 so lots of changes to be seen! As coming from the U.K. planning will be essential and I am sure that I will have lots and lots of questions!!

We will do our best to help you and answer any questions you have. We have a few travelers from the UK who hang out here, so if you have questions related to the international related questions, they can probably help with that.

Welcome! :welcome:party::rockband:party::welcome:

We love it when the lurkers join in the fun!

We also have a lot of lovely people on this thread who have made the trip across the pond from England, so I feel confident that they can help answer questions specific to the conniptions of international travel when journeying to the resort. By the time your trip rolls around you are going to be in great shape with all the knowledge that you have acquired from this thread...

AMEN Sistah!

For those of us with upcoming trips I find that the best way to take the edge off of all the wear and tear on your feet is to start walking at home to get into shape before the trip.

Knowing that the Disney Death March awaits is an excellent motivator for me personally to get out there and walk for a half an hour 3-5 times a week. I slowly build up to an hour or more of walking and I find that I have no trouble in the parks. My feet can take the pounding a lot better and my stamina is there so I'm not completely exhausted during a busy day at WDW. My husband, who is stubborn and refuses to walk with me, get's teased because at the end of a Disney Parks day he looks like a dead body in the bed, splayed out at odd angles and unable to move for the lack of any additional energy.

To keep myself entertained while I am exercising I have Disney parks music loaded on my ipod which, makes it really fun to listen to as I am out there trotting along. I don't have any of those CD's of park music that they sell in the parks but I was able to match up some of the songs that play using the Park Tunes site http://www.parktunes.com/

The site has the music divided up by area so that makes finding songs even easier. Sometimes the links on that site don't work but I just search for the song by using the artist's name. That way I eventually find it if it's available.

If I am tethered to my computer I usually am listening to the Disney channels on Mouseworld radio. After a couple of days of listening, the site stops working unless I purchase a membership.... to solve that problem all you need to do is clean out your computer cache and delete your cookies and the site will work again for free.

So there are your Ninjamom tips for the day.... Walking is the best exercise! It toughens up your feet, strengthens your back and increases your cardiovascular health, which is exactly the thing you need to put a pep in your step while you enjoy the parks on your trip.

Next up NM is going to practice laying around a pool holding assorted adult beverages so she can keep up with Dee and PinkGirl during that August trip. Getting in shape for a Disney vacation doesn't have to be all hard work ya know! ;)

We stayed for EMH last night and Soarin' was down to ten minutes by 10:30pm. We almost had a private meeting with Crush, as only the first row was used and the was one, count him, one child under teen years. We didn't see a soul in the Nemo ride.
