PS. Here is Nannette's complimentary Cow of the day picture:

What did I do to deserve a cow a day?!?!

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at that as I have not figured out the Universal part of this trip.

And, check with that travel agent you booked WDW with, they have a great rate at the end of August for the Universal hotels. I am using that travel agency's rate to stay 4 nights at the Portofino, at a rate lower than my AP discounted rate, before we then transfer over to the YC. My kids are ride junkies. I close my eyes and people watch more than them there, but I really enjoy USO too.

Would it make sense to request a full balcony for a BCV studio?
All of the BCV's have balconies. You don't have to request one. All of the studios and the living rooms have balconies. And some of the master bedrooms in the villa have them, too. :)

Thanks for your response! It will be our first time at BCV. We are WLV owners. Are there any request that you would think are worth making? I think we would prefer to be closer to the pool than to Epcot as we are planning to spend most of the day at SAB and do the parks at night given an August weather trip. DSs are 11 and 8.

I am thinking of booking a CMC character breakfast. Any good?

OMG!!! Thanks to Robyn, I checked with a certain agency to see if any discount offers were left and I saved $550 on my quickie return trip in August AND got my beloved YC instead of BC (not that I wouldn't have been perfectly satisfied with BC)!!!

Thanks Robyn!

Clear out your pm's!!!!

I am soooo happy you were able to get the discount.
It's amazing isn't it. It really helped us - I think I might become
an August convert if they keep this deal next year!

NinjaMom - I second the advise to stay at a Universal resort when you visit US/IOA. Even if you only book the room for one night you will get two days worth of FOTL access and early admission to Harry Potter.

That is the one thing US/IOA beats Disney on - resort guests NEVER wait in line!

We've stayed at both RPR and HRH and would gladly recommend either one.

If staying at the beach club with a park hopper is it easy to run into epcot on your "lunch break" from the parks at get a quick service meal to bring back to your room? On our MK days we were going to come back to the resort after lunch and rest until dinner.. Jw if skipping lunch in MK and doing epcot good at the resort could be a better option?

YCFAN - If I remember correctly after the reservation was booked it showed up in our MDE account. I just had to link the ticket and dining reservations to the resort reservation.

I know the TA can help you with that if you want.

Can't wait to see you again!

Live Report: We are having dinner in the Solarium as I type. This room really is a hidden gem. There's no one else in here with us....it's like our own little hideaway.

The resort isn't busy at all! We spent 5 hours at SAB and there were plenty of empty chairs. I met Erika at the pool and we had a nice chat! We commandeered a table that had a newspaper and some unused towels on it when after 90 minutes passed and no one claimed it. Despite the low numbers of people at SAB, there were still lots of chair hogs.

The weather couldn't be better! We rented a surrey bike and laughed the entire time. I can't recall the last time all five of us laughed that hard together. :)

I've got this one.

We love to do this! Some places are better than other with having "to go" containers or being innovative with wrapping.

We have done grab and go sushi from Japan, dinners from Tangierine Café. sandwiches from France (but they wouldn't let us take away a crème brulee because it was too hot outside) and we have brought things back from Sunshine Seasons.

One thing we found was that places did not have bags to carry the containers in. We either bring our own transport bags or get one from a nearby gift shop. Don't worry, there's always a nearby gift shop!

:thumbsup2

Robyn - Agreed. Terrific deal. I also have you to thank for helping me out. I also linked my reservation to MDE account once I received the reservation number. Just waiting for June 17 to make FP+ reservations!

We've stayed in the BCV's three times and really loved it. You might be able to see the high fireworks from Illuminations from the balcony. We always like to get a low floor so that we can use the stairs instead of the elevator. You'll have to walk through the BC to get to SAB, so you might want to request a location that is close to the BC.

Cape May has a very good character buffet. We've been to it many times, but our favorite is the dinner buffet. :)

We always eat breakfast in the Solarium. And it is a great place to wait for the Magical Express on departure day.

It sounds like you really know how to enjoy the Beach Club. I'm glad that you are having great weather. Our daughter and her family are at WDW this week, staying at ASMU.

Are the parks crowded or haven't you been in one yet? :)

We are really looking forward to our upcoming trip! We will be staying at YC for the first time and we can't wait to enjoy the pool and see the beautiful resort! I'm looking forward to gaining a lot of information over the next couple months! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! Extremely helpful! Can't wait to have lunch from all around the world :yay:

You have to be getting pretty excited.

I am, but I still haven't had nearly the amount of time I need to plan! No dining reservations in place for Disneyland OR Hawaii. Still haven't decided about a rental in Oahu. I know you recommend it, and I was about to pull the trigger...

Then heard a report that the top two worst driving patterns in the country are LA and Honolulu. That scares someone from Boston, which didn't even make the top 10!

:drive:

I'll keep you posted. :)

Wish I could join you guys, but that's a few weeks too late for me. I'll be in Orlando for LeakyCon (Harry Potter Conference) this summer, but I'll already be home by the 18th.

I want to hear all about this!!! I'll email you when I get a chance :goodvibes

No kidding you need a vacation!! My husband is in disbelief at you making FastPass+ reservations for 120 people.

Actually, I only made reservations for half of the groups (the girls) and the teachers made the one for the boys. I am SO itching to change the ones for the boys, but the teachers won't let me. Oh, well. At least the girls have awesome, customized Fast Pass ressies.

:cool1:

Dee, I was watching this on the news last night. I'm not far from you. So scary! You never know what can escalate into something horrible these days....

Have we discussed where you live? If so, I have forgotten. PM or email me beachclubdee at yahoo.

:)

Caught up, for now!

If you have posted a question that has not been addressed in the previous few pages, please repost.

On may way to work-doing a Colonial rope making class today offsite dressed in complete costume. I look like I could be working at Columbia Harbor House!

After 5 trips to the World as a whole family, my husband and I are shipping our kids to summer camp and celebrating our 40th birthdays at the Yacht Club. I do have guilt about going without the kids, and they are working very hard to reinforce that guilt! :rotfl2:

We've never stayed at the Yacht Club before, we've booked a Garden View room. Our dates are June 30-July 3.

I've enjoyed this thread & if you have any suggestions for an adults-only trip, I'd love to hear them.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Hey guys! I often just lurk but am actually posting out of sheer joy! Just got back last week from a stay at BWI and was able to book a bounce back at my dream resort, BC! We have always visited, but never stayed so I am beyond excited. We will be there Sept 22-29, 2014 and are booked for a lagoon/water view. :cloud9: Any advice about good room requests? It will just be DBF and I, so being close to SAB (are these rooms noisy, being so close to the pool?) isn't really necessary and I think we would probably prefer not to be on ground level, but other than that I am kind of lost.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

Hello Everyone!!! Doing the happy dance because we just booked a YC CL stay for Nov. 29-12/6!!! :cool1:

I have stayed at the Beach Club twice before, and at the Boardwalk, but never at the Yacht Club, so I am very excited!

We are going to have 5 in our room, so we are "stuck" with Standard View. Has anyone else stayed Standard View Club Level at Yacht Club that has pictures of their view?

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:yay:

Thanks, WoodNymph, for posting the view link!

:thumbsup2

Until a few days ago we didn't think we would be able to take a family vacation this summer. Sudden changes at work freed up a week and now we are booked BC CL, arriving July 26! We are so excited about our 2nd stay at BC and now the serious planning begins!

Great news! :welcome:

I'll add you to the list. How long are you staying?

:cool1:
