TheNeverEndingPTR! Sept2010...no, November...WAIT! January?Ugh. maybe September 2011!

This is my revised, revised itinerary. I keep coming back and just changing things so I don't have a hundred itineraries on my thread!

That's looking great, Karen!!!

I've got another question for you......are you faxing your requests (ie building, floor, etc) to the resort a couple of days prior to your arrival? I know Pop had this option, but I can't seem to find anything about it for ASMu. If so, what's the fax number????

Well, I requested Calypso 10, but the Family Suites are only in the Calypso buildings, I think (maybe Jazz too?) and so they are already preferred. I can see on my ressie online that it's noted there, so I probably won't do anything else b/c I'm not too concerned. If I were staying in a room that wasn't already preferred, I think I would. I'll also do online check-in a few days before the trip and I think you can make requests when you do that as well??

So I'm feeling sort of let down now. :p I'm really happy with our QSDP itinerary and unless they release regular DDP for free at Value's (my opinion is that they will not, it will be QSDP) I'm pretty much set! I even have an alternate DDP plan if they offer that for free, so I'm pretty much done planning for now??? :confused3

I actually started making a list of things to bring and make last night b/c I'm feeling underwhelmed after figuring out my itinerary! I'm also concerned about money and since I can't keep my mind busy with planning, it is wandering and making me worry about being able to pay off the trip!

Rey said I should just find something more to plan. He then asked which plan I had decided on and when I told him QSDP he said that he had changed his mind then and I should plan for DDP (cute that he was trying to give me something to do!) but then I told him I had already done that, so... It was a nice attempt tho.

I'm really wishing for spring, I want to get OUTSIDE and dig in the dirt, plant, take long walks...I know that will help. C'mon spring!!!!!

for those of you waiting...

on the WDW site, hours are being listed! The CALENDAR only shows Sept. 1, but if you click on that actual day and then click on NEXT DAY, it will show you Sept. 2nd and onward!!! :woohoo:

Is there still snow on the ground where you are? Here in central Maine there is barley anything left and we are having rain for the next 72 hours! I'm just anxious to see my spring bulbs come up, but I know it's a bit early for that. I even changed my desktop calendar to March already. Did that this morning. For being the shortest month of the year, February seems awfully long!

Thanks for the update on the hours! I did find the fax number for ASMu, so I'll be all set there. :cutie:

I have looked into POR, I LOVED the pics I saw of the outside, loved the buildings, the trees, the river...but I can't stand the look of the rooms in Alligator Bayou where they can fit 5! It's just too rustic and country for me. I LIVE in an area that is predominately this style and I don't want to see it on vacation. :p AND, we would have to squeeze in 1 room, even if it is a moderate, it would be tight!

How funny - I LOVE the style of Alligator Bayou - way more than the Mansions. And not because I live in a Mansion, either! But I get your point, you want to get away FROM the country, not escape TO it!

As for hopppers or not - we've typically gone without and not noticed any difference in our enjoyment of the parks. In fact, things are a bit more cohesive and less hectic when you are not switching parks all day long. We'll probably not hop this time as well, unless there is no other chance of seeing Fantasmic.

Thanks for the September hours update. I was up til 2am writing them all down and "thinking"

I see on tuesday and friday the MK closes at 7pm with no wishes listed. Is it safe to assume that MNSSHP will be on these nights, ya think?

Yep! I know the MNSSHP dates haven't officially been released, but T & F are normal days for the party in Sept and if they are closing at 7pm, I think it's a sure sign! :thumbsup2

Thanks, that's what I figured, especially seeing how there were no Wishes scheduled for that night!!!! Yippee!!! We'll be doing MNSSHP on tuesday 9/21:yay:

It's not a good day here, found out Rey was only getting a 31$ check. To be honest, I can't even fathom how we are going to get out of the hole we are in and afford this trip, so I'm just down and out today b/c I can't even cheer myself up with Disney. The thought of it just makes me feel like this trip isn't going to happen. :sad1:

hi- i just read your TR and will start this ptr soon. just wanted to say i enjoyed it. your dd is beautiful.
we just went on our first (multi) family trip too. my dh had never been and was like yours with the "when we come back" popping out.

It's ok, Karen. You've been through hard times before and this is no different. You will figure out a way to make it all happen and be able to get by just fine. You will get more pet sitting or whatever you have to do. You guys are a strong family and you won't let this stop you!

OH, and I'm sure the way you browse the boards that you know this, but just in case.....there's a list of things that qualify as a snack in one of the threads so you don't have to chose the usual "junk". Just search for 2010 Confirmed DDP Snack credits.

Oh, boy, I know how that feels, I had that going on a few weeks ago with the wedding AND the Disney trip! I think we'll be ok, but sometimes thinking about it gets so overwhelming! It is a lot of money!

Honestly though, if it comes down to it and you really cannot afford to go, just know that there are many kids out there that have never seen Disney World, heck there are some kids out there that aren't even loved. Your daughter has been and has lovely memories and you know you guys will get the chance to go back eventually!!!:wizard: Manny was getting layed off a lot these past few months, it's getting a little better now, but I totally understand what you're going through. Even though I work 30 hours a week, when your used to a certain amount of money every week, anything that comes in less than that is a loss.

Pam's right.......my first time to Disney was when I was a sophmore in high school!!!! I know at times I try to do way too much for Victoria. She doesn't need all this "stuff" she just needs to be loved. From what you write, you have an awesome, loving family and great friends (including us Dis'ers!!!) You go way above and beyond with your movie nights and crafts!!! We all believe in you!!!!!

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate the thoughtful words and advise. :lovestruc I don't want to give up on the trip and I know we'll be ok if we don't go. I'm dealing with some seasonal depression as well and I think if spring would just arrive I could focus on my yard and enjoy being outside. I thrive on being outside, so winter is brutal for me. I'm not going to give up hope until August 11th when the package has to be paid off! Everyone pray for a big tax return!!!!

Welcome and Thank you! I'll have to go check out your TR when I get back from Dylan's drum lesson this evening! :goodvibes

Peter states he's going to rent an excavator (sp??) so I can rip up some tree stumps in my yard that are bugging me.....oh yeah......I can see me on that machine! Knowing me I'll rip up some utility lines or find a bear cave!!! Or at least a skunk den!!!! :rotfl:

Hi Karen,

We have totally been there. As homeschoolers it is hards to find work that we can do ouside of the home to make extra money, so most of us live paycheck to paycheck.

I had to find a job this past year. Luckily, we have a grocery store about 8 minutes away. I found a job working in the bakery 4 evenings a week from 5-9pm. It works out well for me with schooling.

If it wasn't for tax refunds we would NEVER go to Disney;) All three times we have gone, that is what we used. And as soon as the money was in the bank I would pay off the trip. That way it was done and over with and I wouldn't use the money on something else( like bills- that's no fun:thumbsup2).

I really hope it works out for you. Even if you just went for 3 or 4 days would be better than nothing, and it would save you some money. :)

Also, what about driving?? We live about 15 hours away, and have always driven. It saves us about $900.

Hi Poohbear!!!!! :)

Yep, driving is a consideration for saving. The only way it will save though is if we drive straight through and the majority of that will have to be at night. When I start factoring in motels and meals for 5 of us, it becomes more expensive than flying. Last time we spent a TON of money getting there and back on motel and meals. It's 4 days of meals for all 5 of us if we split the drive. So, if need be, we'll leave mid-day and drive all night. That would cut out some meals as well!

We've definitely made some sacrifices b/c of homeschooling. Luckily I have my petsitting business which gives us extra money normally and helps us make it in tough times like right now! My petsitting has kept us fed the last 2 months, so I'm glad it's there and it's such a flexible job that it doesn't interfere with our homeschooling or me being with the kids. :goodvibes
