I am making my way through this thread a getting more and more excited for our 1st stay at WL. My DH and sons got to pick the resort this time and I think they chose wisely!!

talking about sharing good news... we are now the proud owners of VWL. Enough points to stay for a week, the first week of May in a studio. It's been a dream of mine for years.
YAY!!!! I think the lobby over there at the Villas is so beautiful...not the huge expanse as the main lobby, but it is so calming and peaceful...I think staying in the villas would be a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the rest of WDW.

Awesome!!!
My DH says he doesn't want to stay anywhere else during the Christmas season, he just loves the feel of the WL lobby with all the Christmas decorations up.

Hi there,

What is on the first page is just "examples" of what you could expect to see up on the Club Level. It is up to the Chef as to what he has planned for that evening. The cast members don't even know what will be served until they go and pick it up from the kitchen.

I was just there this past weekend and from what I heard is that there is mostly chicken dishes lately. The pork dishes are few (I guess because of the flu scare). On Friday night, they had a chicken and two potato hash dinner. The cast said that everything they put out will be cooked "well done". I noticed that things were pretty dry because of this.

I also noticed, not only on the Club Level, but all around the Disney Resort areas (including the parks and DownTown Disney) is that they are taking many, many precautions with the food items that are served and sold. All pastries at Goofy's in DTD were wrapped in plastic wrap. They used to just have them out in the cases.

Hope this helps.

Hi WL experts! I have a few questions about the flag family at WL.

1. What time does the flag family typically go up and raise the flags? And how long does it take?

2. I would really like to do this on Sept 24 because we'll have character breakfasts booked on every other day we're there but we check in on Sept 22 so I fear other families will have grabbed up that date before I have a chance to ask. We will however, be in world (not staying at WL) starting on the 18th. Has anyone ever asked to be the flag family before you check-in in person at WL before? And if so, did they let you do it?

TIA!

I know you can find out aahead of time the movies shown at ft wilderness, like for the month. What about the WL, movies on the beach? hoping to find out ahead of time--- to plan our evenings

Jill

We were the flag family several years ago. We had to be there about 7:30am....I think. It was about 15-20 minutes. The morning was beautiful. I still remember that entire day were we were out and about we would always try to find the flags we raised.

1. Is there an espresso machine at the Old Faithful Club?

2. Is there a ladybug release?

3. Do you get to keep the robes in the room?

Hi there,

You will have to check in at the Lodge first before they will check for available dates for Flag Family.

Hope you get one!! :)

Hi there,

Yes, there is a wonderful espresso, cappuccino, latte machine located in the lounge. They are very addicting.

Not sure about the lady bug releases. I know they used to do them but I haven't seen that activity lately.

Sorry, but you do not get to keep the robes that are in your Club Level room. They do have they for purchase in the Mercantile downstairs.

I am sure that somewhere in the 208 pages of this thread there is the answer to my question, but I just can't read them all, can someone tell me what the refrigerator in the room holds as for example how many regular size bottles of water, does it have a small freezer, and anything else you can think of. Thanks

First, which room are you refering to? Do you mean the mini-fridges in the Studio Rooms or the mid-sized ones in the larger Rooms?
Assuming you are talking about the mini-fridges, I can not say for certain how many bottles the it will hold, however you can stack quite a few in there as well putting some in the door holders. There is a small freezing area that does a great job freezing your water for the next day. It makes it easy enough to freeze at least 4 normal sized bottles and keep another cold for the mornings.

We have a courtyard view room so I am guessing it is a standard room with queen beds because there are 4 of us.

The fridge in the standard rooms is a good size. We were always able to put about 8-10 bottles in the fridge. I do not believe there is a freezer in these units. We never had trouble keeping the bottles cold for a few hours when we take them to the parks.

We're 70 days out..HOPING for a water view. We'll be at the Villas. Either way, we're GOING and staying at WLV is a dream come true!:cloud9:
