Hi all! I am back from our stay at the Lodge and it was everything I was hoping it would be!!!
Amy

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip...how did your DH do with the new CPAP machine?
Can't wait to see your photo's.

I have 2 questions:

When do they take the Christmas decorations down? Do you think they'll still be up when we're there?

We were thinking of putting the kids into Cubs Den our last night there so we can have an adults only dinner at Artist Point. I read somewhere that they can stay there for four hours and dinner is included at $11 an hour. Can the kids stay for two hours only?

They start taking down the decorations after New Years so you will be able to see them for a day or two.

Yes, ::yes:: you can schedule just a few hours with the Cub's Den, you should make a reservation in advance when you know what hours you will need to have your children there.

Thank you so much Beckie. That is so helpful. I'll be trying to book everything I can at the earliest time possible- our day is July 5th.

I am trying to convince DH our stay for next year-August-should be at WL. He's not convinced and I book a dinner at WCC so we can have a look around while we are there this summer. We are also going to Boma so we can check out AKL.
We have a 7 yr old and even he says he'd go for a shorter trip (8 days compared to our usual 11) if he could stay there or at AKL.

We are debating between AKL Deluxe Savannah View and the WL standard Club Level. There is only $200 difference and I like a little pampering.

Help me out. Love this thread! I'm learning so much!

Got some major pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
this morning. A courtyard view room opened up for our trip dates and my TA was able to get us in! woohoo!!

Does anyone know if the Christmas decorations go up the same time as MVMCP? Or do they wait until Thanksgiving week?

The Christmas decorations usually go up toward the end of the second week in November, they seem to Magically appear around the 15th give or take a day. So that would be near the time that the MVMCP starts on the November 10th.

Thanks. We leave the 14th - so we may just miss them. Someone had posted a picture on the GF thread of the gingerbread house & the sign showed the dates starting the same as MVMCP (from a past year), I had hoped other resorts would start about the same time.

They may push the dates up with them starting the MVMCP parties earlier & earlier each year. They have always decorated the Parks and DTD first then they do the resorts on a rotating schedule. You may get lucky.

Standard rooms with bunkbeds only have queen beds. You can get 2 queens, queen and bunkbeds or 1 king.

Would I Have To Request A Room With The Bunkbeds??
Yes ::yes:: the room type that you would need to book would be Woods or Courtyard View with Bunk Beds. (Bunk Beds are bookable at a higher rate) There are no bunk beds in the Standard View rooms.

So If I'm Booking A Standard Room With Club Level I Would Still Be Expected To Pay More For The Bunkbeds:confused3 :confused3

Sorry didn't realize that you were booking Club Level. The Standard Room Club Level are none view specific. Meaning you don't pay any more for a view you may have, because your paying for the room class not a view. So staying Club Level the Bunk Beds would be a request, that the IPO can do for you.
