Thanks so much. It has been years since I read the beginning pages and we never need a room that large so I guess I had forgotten. Sorry. I appreciate your refreshing me where to read all about it. :)

They had every room type availible during the dates. Standard-Club Level.
Once AP or Floridia Residence rates come out I'll call and have the discount added to the reservation, if they are availiable.

I just got back from a stay at POR and was offered a bounceback discount of 30% if I booked before I left. I called right away to get WL during the week after Thanksgiving and there were no more rooms available on that promotion! I tried several places but finally was able to book BC. I was really surprised. I guess WL is so popular at Christmas that even during one of the slowest weeks of the year you can't get it except right at the start of the promotion....

DH and I confirmed our ressie for WL CY for December 7-14. We are so excited!

Thanks for all of the wonderful info on this thread. It was mostly reading here that made us decide this was the place for us!

This time last year my wife and I were deciding on planning our trip. I am sad now because I have the Disney "bug" again and I want to plan another trip, but we are saving for DVC. *sigh*

Soon enough we will be planning again. :dogdance:

Does the Wilderness Lodge have stationary? I just returned from there, and meant to chedck, but completely forgot. I have some from the AKL when I stayed there. I wanted to include it in a scrapbook I am making for my Mom. It was the first time she had ever been to WDW.

They used to have postcards available at the front desk. You might call the gift shop and try to buy something over the phone if they have it.

DVC is totally worth it! We are new DVC members and now have 3 trips planned for WDW!! Save your pennies now and just know that soon, you'll be able to visit Disney multiple times per year. :thumbsup2

We're in the same boat! DH and I just got back a few weeks ago..now we're saving for DVC, hoping to buy in 2010 (I know that sounds so far away!) and then we hope we can go every year for at least 10 days...

Just a few more days and I will be checking in at the Lodge! I still have so much to do at home and I have not even thought of packing yet. I need to get my rear in gear on that one.

I am going to have to show DH the quiet spot. That area looks so comfy and a nice place to get a moment to yourself.

Amy....get with the packin girl!! I have already started two of my suitcases upstairs..:woohoo: and I leave after you..lol (we leave here on the 11th)

I had a sr moment yesterday. As I was gathering some items up. I stopped and said, oh wait a minute...I can't pack all this extra stuff....(thinking I was flying...) but then I realized we are driving...yiiipppeee We haven't driven to Disney in over 6 years. This year it was a no brainer for us; flights for 4 of us $1,100....gas for 4 of us $320....ok...lets get the car...lol
:drive:

I hope we all have hair by the time we arrive...:scared1: Driving with 2 teenagers...yikes...lol

have a super trip Amy :thumbsup2

Off topic: forgot to mention my hubbys find!! :)

We had went out and purchased one of those really nice car top carriers that Sears has (Thule I believe is the brand name). It costs me $219. We had left it in the box being as this was 4 weeks ago.

My husband was dropping off our kids at school one morning and happen to drive by a garage sale. He spots a car top carrier. He comes home goes to bed (we are night workers so we GET to bed about 8am). He tells me about this when we GET UP at 2pm. I said...oh my gosh...its probably gone by now. We jump in the car, drive over..its still there. Its also one from Sears but its the older tan/brown color. We grab it...paid $10.00 for it!!...brought it home...spray painted it black...it looks brand new. We returned the first one with no problem. The paint cost $12 for 2 cans....so we saved about $197 on the whole item.

man...I love my husband...::yes::

I believe it is the 4th floor.

I know, we need to get moving! I am finishing up a few more outfits for DD to wear and then I will get going. I have some stuff sitting out and I plan on working on a little tonight.

Great find on the luggage rack!

Awesome find, Esmerelda! That's definitely in keeping with the spirit of the Lodge. You saved a carrier from the landfill! :wizard:

That's great! We have the older high model for over 20 years now! Can't make a trip w/o it. Just make sure you secure it really well to the car. I've seen people drive with it only secured by the luggage in it. It can move going 70 on the parkway~ Also, if it has straps make sure you tuck them in. Don't have any loose ends because when you're driving, those ends will hit your car and drive you insane:goodvibes One more suggestion, we bought those small key locks for the 2 side locks to keep it from flopping open and 2 big locks one for the front and one for the back so if we stop overnight they will think twice about trying to open it. That is if you have the same model~You will love what you can fit in that thing!! Good luck:)
