kimmar- check into spirit airways. They have unbelievable deals. We flew r/t out of Myrtle Beach this summer, non-stop to Orlando for $2.22 pp. The service was great. I pd. $25 so that my mom, my dd and I could get seats together. Brought carry-on lugguge- no charge. I know Spirit flies out of Long Island, Laguardia and Atlantic City. Hey- a deal is a deal. I would definitely fly Spirit again. BTW- I grew up in NJ- Meadowlands area... I really miss good bread!

Hi all!
As my trip grows closer I find I have a few questions about the Lodge. I re-read the first posts, which answered a couple of them (THANK YOU!), but one thing I am wondering about is if it's possible to order a treat to be delivered to our room. DH and I are celebrating our anniversary, and I would like a sweet-treat delivered one night. At first I was thinking a cake, and I would just call the Cake Hotline; however, the more I thought about it, the more I'm leaning toward something else - like choclate covered strawberries, or cookies...or another sweet of some sort.

I know AKL has offerings like this through the resort, some really amazing treats and I'm hoping WL has some as well...does anyone know what the options are? Or, if not, would I just call the lodge, or do I have to call elsewhere to find out this information?

Thanks!

When do you think the Christmas decorations will be put up at the WL. We'll be there from 11/19-11/26 and would LOVE to see them!

The last few years the decorations usually are done during the second week of November, sometime around the 15th. You should be there just after the transformation happens.

I haven't ever ordered anything before but I'm sure that the Lodge will be able to accommodate your request. I do know others have been able to order special treats for their room. I would start by calling the Lodge or just wait until your on property to call.

That's fabulous!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the gorgeous Christmas decorations in person!!!:dance3:

I haven't been around for a couple of days..but thought I'd try and answer a few posts for people who needed help. :)

I am overwhelmed at the WL info.I need help choosing a room location and room type-

1-Can a standard room fit a rollaway bed?
2-Are deluxe rooms more money( BC does not charge extra)
3-What room has 2 queens and a daybed?
4-Do all room have balconies?
5-Do the buses run pretty quickly?
6-Can you walk to Horseback riding?

There really isn't extra room in the standard/woodsview/courtyard rooms so I don't think a rollaway bed will fit.

Deluxe rooms are more money because they are on the conscierge level.

There are no rooms with 2 queens and a daybed. I think you are thinking of the Contemporary.

The buses are pretty good, but it depends on when you go. When we were there last September, we never waited long for a bus. When we were there in April/May we had to wait up to 40 minutes for a bus.

You can walk to Ft Wilderness to partake in the horseback riding and other activities. There is a trail between the two resorts. I believe it is about a mile. You can also take the boat directly there.

I am in need of lobby music:scared1: .... I know it is on here somewhere, but I can't remember where :confused3 and my wife is at work!!! She knows where everything is on this site but I don't... please help me find the Wilderness Lodge lobby music!!!
Thanks

Information on the WL lobby music can be found on the MouseSavers website: HERE

Beckie answered this, but yes I believe you can talk to the chef at Private Dining and ask for suggestions. I am sure they will work with you to have a nice surprise sent to your room. :)

Just wondering, I heard that the Villas were supposed to start a room refurbishment over the summer. Does anyone know when it started or have any pics?

Yes, they have started the refurbishments of the rooms, new software...bedspreads, carpet, paint, the new sofabeds. :yay: The work is being done but I don't have a schedule of a completion.

Thanks for the info, Beckie. I didn't know they were doing a refurb..but is sounds fabulous!

Today I decided to upgrade our rooms to concierge-no luck:(.
Do you think it would be worth it to keep trying or our dates 11/19-11/26 working against us?

TIA

Thanks! :goodvibes I will give the Lodge a call so I can budget for the cost in advance.

I am so excited b/c 1 week from today I will checking in the Lodge!!! YIPPIE.

Anyways I do have a question and I am sorry if this has already been asked and answered. Has anyone done breakfast in-room dining? How was it? I am thinking of doing this one morning for DH but I am afraid the food will be cold. Also does anyone know if the coffee is the same NesCafe or is it another brand??

TIA

Hello experts,

We are two families booking for next August. We are wondering if a courtyard view is worth the extra $$. My friend has 2 little girls and we have a son.
Just wondering what others thoughts were on this. TIA:thumbsup2

I would not pay to upgrade to courtyard. They are pretty libral with their upgrades if they are available.

I was hoping to upgrade also in October and it's completely booked solid.

rie'smom and disneydreamin I would call EVERY DAY :) I have always been blessed with my additional dates or upgrade. I learned if you call early in the morning as well as in the afternoon they do have cancellations that come in. One suggestion is have the CM check each day you want one day at a time. Sometimes they can do one or more days of your request but not the entire time. Does that make sence? Just be persistent and don’t give up. :thumbsup2 Be sure to let us know how it works out. Sending you some pixie dust, and a wish for good luck.pixiedust:

just booked the WL for the end of November.
I'm so excited! Is there anything special I should look for during the holidays?

I guess it depends. I loved our courtyard view. We woke up every morning to the sun rising over Bay Lake. Originally we had booked a woods view but upgraded when the free dining was announced in the spring. The kids loved the balcony but we didn't allow them out on it very much...and definitely not without one of us being out there with them.

I have heard that sometimes you are able to receive an upgrade upon check in. I don't know how often that happens though.
