Thanks for the slide pics!

As for WCC breakfast: I think I had it confused with Boatwright's at POR. That was the one that stopped serving breakfast.

Now, for which days shall I make WCC breakfast reservations.....

Just wanted to check in and say Hi We're Back!! We had a MAGICAL time at WL CL. We were completely pixie dusted with our view, we are so spoiled now! Our room was 7050. We walked into our room (which was ready for us at 11:30 am) and walked straight out onto the balcony and looked down onto a maintenance area, and murky swampy area. Then we looked up and saw SPACE MOUNTAIN! THE CASTLE! THE MONORAIL! And we never looked down again  :rotfl: But honestly, we've NEVER had a view that that before, and it was just magical. We were able to watch SNTFS from our balcony on Monday June 7th, and it was just magical.

Diana was our mousekeeper, and she was terrific. She left us our first EVER towel animal!!! A little ladybug kinda guy! I literally SQUEALED with joy upon finding him!!!!! DH must have thought I'd gone mad! But in 5 years of Disney stays, I've never gotten a towel creature of any kind (other than the Mickey head on the bed upon check in). We did leave $5 for Diana on 3 separate days of our 5 day trip. We had an In-Room Celebration (From Mickey and Minnie with Love) on arrival night, so there were rose petals everywhere. We cleaned up all the ones from the bed, but the ones on the floor were everywhere. We left a little note thanking her for the extra time it took to clean them up, and $5. For the 5 day stay we tipped her $15 total. She left a little card every day that said Diana cleaned the room.

The Club Lounge was super convenient and we loved it. It was great for breakfasts every day, and great for evening appetizers (cheese and bread, and veggies specifically), and wine and beer. The hot lattes from the Nescafe machine weren't bad when mixed with a few splashed of half and half and my favorite Splenda :thumbsup2 We found the refillable mugs that came with the DxDDP useful even in addition to the lounge, because any time we were down by the pool or lobby, or boat dock, etc. we would refill our drinks. We both love fountain soda, and the fixins bar has lemon wedges for my diet cokes! Also the Minute Maid light lemonade was delicious. Roaring Forks was great as usual, love the tuna sandwich and burgers. Artist Point was AMAZING as usual. Whispering Canyon Cafe was nice and quiet for lunch, with a good server who was funny without being overbearing. The food there was yummy, we thought. We would not go for breakfast or dinner though-too loud. I've been for breakfast before. This trip we could hear the call for KEEEEEETCCCCUPPPPPP!!!!! from the 7th floor lounge seating area! :scared1: But WCC is perfect for lunch on arrival day for us, it's tried and true.

The CL CM's were super duper helpful and amazing. Daisy, Jennifer, and Jack all helped us every day. They changed ADRs for us, bought us ponchos, and basically helped out whenever we needed anything. They were amazing!!!

We rented Sea Raycers one day and went out by abandoned River Country and Discovery Island, which was fun and creepy. DH is really into all that creepy stuff. DH got into hidden Mickey's and found each and every one in the resort, 56 I think? :wizard: Well I hope this has helped! :goodvibes:goodvibes

PS- I will be doing a full TR, starting soon!!

We had a similar view and I'm so glad to "hear" you gush over your experience. I've read posts where people were devastated at receiving a similar view or only 1 towel animal. I'm glad you enjoyed those touches and kept it magical. Sounds like a great vacation.

Princessallegra- so glad to hear you had a great trip. Did you find yourself overwhelmed with so much food with CL and DxDDP? I've tempted to try CL at WL (still have to wait for it to become available during my dates). I've read Little Lulu's TR, but please, please, gives us more info so I can keep driving DH nuts about CL.

PS: Are you missing it already?

Thank you!! You know, I told DH "some people would complain about being over a service area, even with the magical view". He couldn't believe it! But it's true, the real complainers will always find something to complain about!! :confused3 The little towel creature made my night!!!!!! OMG AMAZING!!

I was missing it by the time we were on the ME bus!! :rotfl:

We LOVED the club lounge and didn't feel overwhelmed by the lounge offerings at all. We DID find ourselves overwhelmed by the DxDDP. It was just beyond too much for us EACH to order a 3 course meal 2 or 3 times a day. If it makes any sense, we used the lounge for breakfasts every day, and for appetizers in the evening. It was perfect for us. We only did the DxDDP because we got a great deal on it. It was wayyy too much food.

Thanks for the update, it's great to hear that you had such a wonderful trip :goodvibes
I'm going to check out your TR :thumbsup2

Hiiiii!!! I hope you come find me!! I Should have it up over the weekend. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Last year we stayed at WL for our last night and loved it. This year we are staying there for a week, but I'm curious to know how the boat launch works in the mornings, esp. if we are trying to get to breakfast ressies at Contemp & Poly. Is the earliest time to get on a launch 30min prior to park opening, is there really a breakfast launch?

Also, at night, when does the last launch happen from the contemp or MK?

Our resort of choice has always been the CR, we love the convenience of the monorail, but we absolutely love the boats and wanted to enjoy those a little bit more this year.

We are planning a trip to WDW Dec. 11th-17th. I have already booked our room for
Me(37), DH(43) and DS(11). I am wanting to add my DM(58) to our trip. She has never been to the world. She has some health issues that will require a HA room. From my research I can only find that WL only has King HA rooms, we all (4 of us, 3 adults 1 DS11) can not fit into a King room. So will I need to change resorts or do they have the 2 queen beds w/ HA bathroom? If I can't book this at WL which resort would you choose to book in order to fit us all in one room?

From my understanding all the H/A rooms have one king bed in them. Have you thought about possibly staying at a 1 bedroom villa at VWL? They do have a few rooms in this category that are H/A. If money isn't an issue, this could possibly work. Sorry I couldn't be further help.

The first boat (blue boat) starts running to the CR at 6:45 am. The last boat leaving the CR is 11:30 pm.

There is more information on the first page of this thread about half way down on the boats and the times that they run.

Thanks too, I checked the first page of the thread re: boats, I guess I wasn't sure if maybe it had changed since then!?

Can you walk between the WL and campgrounds? If so, how far is it?

You can walk. It's about a 1 mile I think, if I remember correctly. Maybe 1 1/2 miles. It's easier to bike than to walk. There are buses however that run to the campground and back again. You can also take a boat directly to Ft. Wilderness. In the morning, the boat runs WL to CR to FW. In the afternoon after 3:00 pm, the boat runs WL to FW to CR.

The blue boat always starts at 6:45 am no matter what.

The red boat (boat to MK and back) I believe the boats adjust with the EMH to MK, although we usually take the bus on those days to MK because we find the buses seem to come a lot more frequently in the morning especially on EMH days and we find they are a bit faster during that time. Sometimes you have to wait a while for the boats.

Hi everyone. Earlier this year the travel channel aired Great Hotels, The Wilderness Lodge. I had recorded it to my DVR. Well my cable box needed to be replaced today, so I lost everything that was recorded.

We went to the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge in May & loved it. My daughter (4) loves to watch the Great Hotel show and compare what she did and saw to what Samantha Brown does.

Does anyone know if I could buy this DVD? I checked Amazon, but it is unavailable.

Any info would be great!! Thanks!

P.S. thanks for all the helpful hints and tips that I read prior to our trip.

Unlike some of the other resort threads I try and keep all the information on the first few post of this thread updated. If you check I just updated the information a few days ago after I returned from a week at the Lodge.

Beckie

I also rely on other WL Vets to let me know of any changes so the information is updated every few months.
