For going to MK, what seems to be the better choice, in general...the boat or the bus? Thanks!

We only used the boat to get to MK, so I can't speak about the bus. But the boat rides were great. So relaxing and some great views!! Comparing all of our other bus rides to the other parks, I wish I could have used the boat to get to every park! Part of this is because the buses are shared with other resorts, so they filled up and got very crowded. I'm not sure if the MK bus shares with other resorts, but the boat doesn't, and we never had trouble finding a seat.

In just 24 hours I will be entering the WL for the very first time. I am so excited!! But, first I have to fly across country with 2 boys who are equally excited.

You will love WL! My family stayed there in 2005 and just had a wonderful time. I still remember that feeling upon entering the lobby! We loved the resort and will be sure to visit for a meal when we return to WDW in August. We are trying out BC this time...can't wait! :yay:

Hope all is well with everyone here! :wave2:

Well, I went ahead and just did it! Got us booked at the WL CL for the weekend and week after Thanksgiving !

NOTHING comes close to the WL during the Holidays!
Nothing! :cloud9:

Can't wait to book the sleigh ride, CP at Epcot, need to get our MVMCP tixs...
:woohoo:

That's when we are going---have a courtyard view booked.

I agree-- it can only be WL for the holidays!!!!

I've got our MVMCP tix and also just waiting to book CP

Happy planning:thumbsup2

I'll be there that week too, CY view. Coming in on Thanksgiving night for 7n going to MVMCP on Tues night. Hoping to stay up to watch them put up the Christmas decorations.

My dd pleaded for bunkbeds she is going to just turn 5. I was a little worried she would roll out but then saw pictures and noticed a built in rail type of thing. My 2 year old sleeps in a toddler bed she can fall out of one side but not both. She has only fell out once. But she is a tuff girl and just got back in. Do you think the bottom bunk closer to the floor than a reg queen bed?

I can just see it now both of my girls fighting who is sleeping where. popcorn::

Hi Fellow WL lovers!! Can't wait until Sept!!

Anyway, has anyone rented the surrey bikes at WL? Was it a fun time? I'm going to take my Mom to celebrate her 75th birthday, and thought this might be a fun activity but wasn't sure how rough the trails are or if the surrey bikes can be mainly powered by me and she can ride in it with me. Anyone have some good info on that?

Also, I stayed at WL last year and I know there is a smaller hidden pool over near the Villas, I think. Is that right? How do you get there from the main lodge area? I never saw it last year.

Happy Friday everyone!!
Thank you in advance! :flower3:

It is a smidgen closer to the ground. I slept in one night and it was definitely a different view of the TV.

You can ask for guard rails to be delivered to your room. :)

Yeah!! Have a magical trip!! Don't forget to come back and tell us what you thought of WL.

DH and I just looked at the map of the "Contemporary to MK" walking path... WOW, it looks really long,

it's not that long... much faster than riding the monorail all the way around.
5 minute walk, unless you can't walk at a normal pace
even with my two boys, one in a stroller we can walk in 5-10.. :) not too bad!!

someone else was asking about the bus ride to MK from WL
it's soooo quick. less than 5 minutes... and we didn't wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus when we were there in 2008

Too cool! We're going to be there the same time as Capt. Barbosa!:thumbsup2
I thought the decorations would be up around mid-Nov., am I wrong about that?
We usually come the 2nd week of Dec, but that monster pin can't be used that week, go figure. But, I'm excited to be going for T-giving weekend and the week after! :woohoo:

I DO love the holidays at the Lodge!

Vicksterp33-Now, that's something we haven't done. The surrey bikes at the WL. But we've done them elsewhere, the POR, BWI...takes alot of man-power to get those bikes going and I don't think you'd be on the running trails but the trail for the bikes. Someone come in here and correct me please!? :confused3

Now, for the villa pool, it's very nice and quiet. You can get to it by taking the same route as going to the buses but you'll take a left (there will be a sign directing you) on a sidewalk taking you to the pool area. Just follow the signs.

Can't help with the trail; but the quiet pool is at the WL Villas and from the main pool walk past the Trout Pass Bar following the sidewalk towards the marina, as you get closer to the marina you will see that you can walk around the other side of the WL building wing and that will take you between the WL & the WLV; the quiet pool is on the left. Or if you come out of the lobby towards the bus stop and take the first left onto the sidewalk that goes between the WL & the WLV the quit pool is on the right. In the summertime it's not always a quiet pool, not sure about Septemeber; but quiet or not we love that pool and the hot tub that's there also.

The bunkbed always worked great for our 3 yo. here is a picture. we usually store the luggage between the wall and the bed and have a bed rail on both sides too. he has slept up top also and it was fine too.that blue rail that you see on the top is on both sides

Hey everyone
quick question about the quite pool next to the villas
can you use it if you are staying in the main lodge or is it just for the DVC/Villa guests?

I think anyone can use it.
We used it in January when the main pool got shut down temporarily for "cleaning" :rotfl:

Thanks for answering my questions about the quiet pool the surrey bikes!

I think I'll ask at the surrey bike rental area if we can test it for a minute to see if Mom will be able to pedal or just ride while I pedal and see how that goes.

Can't wait to go!! Yay! I keep thinking about the "ham smell" in the lobby and the music playing when you walk in. So great. And can't wait to ride the boat to MK again. Come on September! lol! :)

Thanks I think dd can do without the rails. Since I have now seen pictures a little closer.

If you are leaving the main pool area and go down to the beach area there is a path that will take you to the villa pool. (If you are coming out of the back of the lodge and are facing the beach, it is on a path to the right). Anyone can use both pools. We found that it was much quieter than the main pool especially during the day and the kids had more room to swim. Of course, they really like the slide in the pool so we headed back there once in a while to use it.
