We got home yesterday from our first stay at WL! It was beautiful all decorated for the holidays! It was breath-taking to walk into the lobby and see that huge tree right in the center. My little boy stopped to look at the tree every time we walked to our room.
We had booked a standard-view room (only that and Courtyard BB were available with the military discount when I booked). I asked at check-in how much it would cost to upgrade to a room with BB, but the CM said there were none available, that she had checked earlier for another guest. No biggie! We were given room 6054. It faced the Smokehouse and the woods beyond. Since we were so high up, the parking lot view didn't bother us. It was a little loud at times if you were on the balcony, but at night it wasn't bad. With the door closed, we did not hear any noise at all. On our second night we discovered that we had a great view of Wishes!
We had great Mousekeeping service. The staff was very friendly, smiled and said hello when we saw them in the halls. Our mousekeeper left the boys' stuffed things in fun arrangements every day, to their delight (and mine). She also left us little towel creations by the sink or on the radio every day, little birds and such.
We loved the boat to MK and since we spent 2 days, plus the
MVMCP there, it was a great perk to staying at WL. We never waited more than 5-8 min for a boat and never had to wait for a 2nd one because the first was full. Maybe once we arrived as the boat was pulling away and had to wait, but it was a very short wait. Even after Wishes one night, we were able to get on the first boat leaving.
We ate at WCC our first morning and at Roaring Fork on our last morning. We had a lovely conversation with a CM named Andy at RF yesterday as he was cleaning up orange juice that my little boy had spilled. He looked managerial and was so nice and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again if it's in the budget!
