I have this craving to stay at the Wilderness Lodge right now. I saw one picture of the lobby and it brought back the memories of when I stayed there in 2003 and 2004.

I need some support. I am worried that I am totally over indulging my children by going back to Disney so soon. We were there in January and head back in December. Help me rationalize! I do know that DH and I work hard. DH travels sooo much that this is a good way to have family time. If we stayed home, the kids would be playing with friends or on video games much of the time. But am I totally spoiling them. Last year we surprised them on the last night of Hannukah with the trip that was a few weeks away in January. This year, the plan is to pick them up from school and start driving to "Grandmama's" (which is Arkansas.) We'll see when they figure it out. (We actually will be flying to Arkansas from Orlando on the 23rd!

Go for it, we went in Jan and then again with May with our kids, we took them to Disneyland Paris a few weeks ago and now they are going back to WDW in 6 weeks. Make the most of it while they are at the age that they want to come with you :thumbsup2

Our trip in January will be our third trip on our AP's. February for 7 days, Sept for 8 and again in Jan for 8. You can never get too much!

Disneyland Paris would be amazing. Or Japan! We have the travel bug after visiting Istanbul this summer.

Well since we only spent 4 days in January and this trip will essentially be 4 days, I guess we are not getting enough! A whole week would be heavenly but I doubt my DH would ever go for that. I have been trying to frame the whole trip as a "cruise on land." (We love to cruise too.) Thanks for the support!

I'm still 54 days out. I know how you feel!!

Brian

I'm 55 days out - we'll be there at the same time. Yeah!!!! Can't wait.

I'm with everyone else - indulge them while you can and while they are interested in spending time with you. We were there in January, May, October and going again in January before our AP's expire. We don't do super long trips each time, but we try to get 5 park days in each trip. I figure I could have money in the bank or I could have countless happy memories with my little girl whose growing up WAY too fast as well as special trips with just my DH for "us" time.

So lose the guilt and have a blast!!!

Last night my husband says to me out of the blue, "book a WDW trip for next summer if you want". So after I picked myself up off the floor, (we have been the last 2 years and never in a million years did I think I'd get a 3peat) I gleefully got on the phone and booked 7 nights at WL, June 2010. It has been a dream of ours to stay at WL and now we are doing it. Please tell me we will love it as much as we think we will.
Our kids are 3 and 6 and I hope it will be fun for them as well. We stayed at POP last year which they loved so this will be a bit different for them I know.
Anyone send the kiddos to the Cub's Den for an evening? Is it fun for them?

Wow, I need a husband like yours!! I would love to hear about the Cub's De as well. The kids have a reservation one evening while DH and I have an adult night. They loved the kids club at AKL so I am pretty sure they will be happy at Cub's Den too.

Wow, that's great. Can you have your husband call mine? We love love loved the WL and so did the kids. They still talk about it all the time and say they want to go "home", lol.

Not sure about he Cub's Den since DD is 2 we didn't use it, I meant to go and do a craft with them during the stay but we were too busy swimming if we were at the resort and I never made it.

When we were there two years ago, I came down with a sudden fever. I brought my then 4-yr-old dd to Cubs' Den for a few hours so I could sleep. It was pretty quiet, there were only two other children there and they were siblings and older. My dd was not thrilled with being there, but I had a terrific nap.

DLP was a BIG BIG disappointment we could not believe it was Disney, the on site hotel was filthy and there is zero customer service. This is just my opinion of course but the have even offered me a free stay and tickets and I wont be taking it! It really lacks pixie dust

Hi there! We will be at WL this December. For one night the kids will go to the Cub's Den. Will the youngest be 4 by your trip? That's the minimum age for Cub's Den. And potty trained. My ds would not have exactly qualified when he was 4. LOL. I plan on filing a trip report when we get back. I just hope there are other kids there to play with. But my kids do make their own fun!:)

Hey West & East,
I think we will be at WL lodge with you in December. My kids, dd 6, ds 8, will be at the Cub's Den on 12/22. What night are you planning on? We have an ADR for Cali Grill at 7:40. Maybe stick around for the fireworks or pick up the kiddos early. We will see. :confused3

PM me if you want. Can you believe we will be there in less than a month!!

I sent you a PM then realized I needed to add another point: Are you kidding about picking up the kids early????!!!! Enjoy your night out! Believe me they will be very happy. At AKL last time, my kids didn't want to leave and then asked to go back!
