Congratulations on another upgrade!!! I've never heard of being able to check this online before your trip. Do you mean you can check the Disney website a few days before your trip? I just booked a standard room for 2 nights in September. Thanks for the info, and have a magical trip! :goodvibes

Yup, just look up your reservation on the website and it will change if the upgrade you before you check in. Good luck and pixiedust!!!!pixiedust:

Thank you for your mini TR and your beautiful photos, Linda67. It sounds like it might be the first of many visits to the WL? How lucky to be upgraded:goodvibes

What time do you meet up for the flag raising and about how long did it take from start to finish? Sounds like you had lots of fun with the tour and eating at WCC is always a hoot, isn't it? Does the tour still include the Smokehouse with a sample of their salmon?

Looks like you'll be back in just about 4 short months. I hope that trip is as good as this one was:goodvibes

We met Ranger Jack in the Lobby at 8.15am for the Flag Ceremony and were with him for around one hour.

We were still on the roof at 9am as I remember watching the geyser erupt :cloud9:

The view up on the roof is amazing, you can see all four parks :worship:

It was an incredible experience and something we will never forget. After we had been presented with our certificate we came back down from the roof and we were invited to take breakfast in the concierge lounge

We didn't visit the Old Smokehouse on the Lodge Tour so not sure if that is something they have stopped doing :confused3

The whole vacation was just wonderful and I sure hope to stay at the Lodge again someday :goodvibes

Have a great time, Brian and don't forget to ask for some catsup ;)

Oh, and BTW, I'm not even close to being an original resort changer. That honor should probably go to Christine (Minnie&Nana). She once told me that she coined the term and was a poster on the original thread:thumbsup2

On the way to the airport. I hope everyone has a great day.

Will be at the lodge in a few hours!! :rotfl:

Since it's early and a Friday, is the traffic pretty light to BWI? Maybe you'll get to apply a bounceback to your December trip:thumbsup2. Have you been upgraded to CL yet?:rotfl:

I think Christine is the great original resort changer.

You gotta love DC, Metro issue a Crystal City. They are single tracking from pentagon city to the airport. Glad I am a bit early. Ugh!

Not yet. Lol.

Leaving from dca. More track issues. Sitting just before pentagon city. I need some pixie dust :rotfl:

Brian

One more stop. We are holding for 2 minutes at crystal city. So I should be fine. ;)

I made it! Trying to get food b4 we take off.

How long will you be there then? That would just be so cool!:goodvibes
We will only be there 5 days in December. Figured a short trip with the princess will be better. Though her Grandma(my Mom) informed me tonight when we dropped her off that they are heading out to the Jersey Shore until Monday. So they are going to have a good time too. :rotfl:

This time tomorrow you'll have spent almost the whole day in Disney! What time does your flight arrive and what are you going to do first? When will you got to MK? Flight lands at 9:50am. Were heading to Epcot for lunch in Mexico(for ambiance more than the food. :rotfl2: But we both agreed today to ride the boat to the MK first thing in honor of you and my Mom, then ride the monorail to Epcot

Brian

I would have needed it for at least a week or two! :rotfl:

This is darned exciting!!! It is one of the things I love about getting to know DISers - I have so much fun when my DIS friends take a trip!:goodvibes

I just read all the posts behind these and you are at the airport now -:woohoo: Hope you don't have to sit on the tarmac too long...you know.... "We are number 30 for take-off":rotfl2:

Have a fabulous weekend, Brian! (I can almost smell the WL and wind and water on the MK water launch.)

Only once have we NOT been upgraded. I definitely feel a little spoiled :goodvibes. We always book standard and have been upgraded to woods and courtyard. For December, we booked courtyard, my question is, what is the likelihood we'll be upgraded to CL? I read that people have, just wondering if it's common. Let me know your experience.

Well, probably unlikely. In my case I wasn't upgraded until I checked-in. I explained that I wanted to surprise my DD with CL for Christmas, and that I was traveling alone with her because DH was deployed. I asked how much the upgrade would cost. The CM checked, came back and said, "Merry Christmas! We've upgraded you for free." But, they could only offer CL access as the 7th floor was booked solid. We really loved the Old Faithful Club even more than the YC/CL and CR/CL where we had stayed in August, so I booked it for our next trip so DH could experience it, too:goodvibes

What's actually the difference between CL and other views? Could you be a woods view with CL? I would much rather have my courtyard view if the perks aren't really there. Tell me, what are the perks of CL...

Old Faithful Club level room views can be of the inner courtyard (WL), the outer courtyard (VWL) or the woods facing toward the CR/MK/monorail. All CL rooms have standing (dormer) balconies.

With CL you get access to the beautiful lounge for breakfast, snacks, non-alcohoic and alcoholic drinks (which you can store in your fridge), hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

The IPO (Itinerary Planning office) will make all your ADRs and other reservations and prepare an itinerary for you. They can also help with special celebrations and other requests.

Your room will be located on the 7th floor, if it isn't a suite, which can only be accessed with your CL (gold colored) KTTW card. The room is the same as a non-CL room with the addition of robes and nightly turn-down service.

When you arrive, you will be greeted and taken directly to the CL floor to check-in. You can also book a special CL-only AK tour.

I hope you have a fantastic trip!!! You deserve it!!!:cool1:

Thanks!

We received a lovely upper courtyard room on the 6th floor. Was a little chatty when we checked in and met one of the managers(Bennett?). Well through our conversation he gave us access to the club level lounge, a fast pass to use, and when we got to the room we had a basket of chocolates and trail mix waiting for us. We definitely enjoyed that extra touch.

We headed to Epcot and ran into an old college friend coming out of Mexico. It was just a really nice day. When we got back to the room after illuminations there was a fruit tray waiting for us. I've never felt so special.

Off to breakfast in the lounge. Today we are just going to chill at the resort, and head to AKL for dinner at Jiko.

Christine - the boat ride was magical. ;)

Brian, I am so happy you stopped by to let us know you are there safe and sound and having a very Magical trip! How nice the Manager was so generous - being a return guest has it privileges.:thumbsup2

Glad the boat ride was nice...I can almost smell the water.:lovestruc

Today sounds like a perfect day; Have fun and thanks for stopping by!:goodvibes

Brian that's awesome! If you have access to the lounge what does that mean? Do you get snacks and breakfast with that access? I love the smell of that water! How funny that you said that too!
