What's sleep. In all honesty, the ac is out at home, so I think that is more to blame then the trip. This dc heatwave is too much. The princess stayed at grandmas so she would not have to be to hot. The ac was fixed today. Yeah!

Ready to go home and take a nap. Lol.

Overall I am very excited. Only 3 days left. ;-)

Brian

oh that sucks that your ac went out. it's too hot for that. that would really stress me out right before vacation. glad thw princess was able to go stay at grandmas. I havent been sleeping and we r so ready to get out of here. Our boy has elem graduation tomorrow and parties nonstop till we leave. so that will keep us busy and pass the time awaypopcorn::.

awesome!!! I know you will have a great time and will enjoy AKV. I am hoping I dont get kicked off this thread for talking about it so much . I do enjoy the point saving there as well. we will be there very soon and getting soooo excited. enjoy your stay.

Brian are you loosing sleep yet? I am.

I am hoping to get VWL next summer (I am shooting for August). It isn't our home resort (Yet....hoping to get some resale points someday) so I will be keeping my fingers crossed I can get in next summer. I fell in love with WL this Feb on a solo trip and now I want to take my boys there. I know they will fall in love with the resort too. It is such a great little boy resort...not too stuffy for little boys to be tromping around in :). They will love the pool, boat ride to MK and the access to Fort Wilderness and campfires. If it is in the cards I will be there next summer! Not sure if I can wait that long:sad2:

You are so right!!! Your boys would just love WL!! As for the water launch to MK - I'm such a fickle resort fan...any resort that has a water launch is my favorite while I'm there!!:rotfl: Nothing makes my day more than beginning it with a boat ride over to the MK. ::yes::

Traci ~ what a wonderful way to pass the next couple of days! Congrats to your son!:cheer2: BIG step! Just 2 more sleeps for you!!!:dance3:

Brian ~ ugh -not much worse than no ac during heat like this week - except maybe being sick in this heat with no ac. Glad the princess could stay with grandma. :cloud9: 3 more sleeps for you & DW!!!!! :woohoo:

I'm just glad it is fixed. Congrats to Nate on his Graduation.:yay: I love his name, but I guess I'd be a bit partial. I've got a busy couple days before we leave, so it'll go faster.

I agree that WL will be awesome for your boys. Exploring the waterfalls and woods all around the lodge. Make sure they "find" the path from the beach over to FW. I hope you can get the ressie!

So glad this ac is fixed. The princess is back home and asleep. She seems to do well at Grandma's so I am feeling less guilt leaving her for the weekend. Now to see if I can sleep. Lol.

Nana - You are just like my Mom. She would not stay at a resort without a boat. I actually think it is her favorite ride at Disney. :rotfl:

I'm so glad you mentioned your princess does well with grandma - it makes this grandma feel better too!!;) You can't help but feel a tad guilty - it comes with being a parent so might as well get used to it now! Nevertheless, once you begin to relax and know she is doing well, you'll enjoy yourselves just fine...and it will be good for the two of you to have this little getaway.:thumbsup2

Ya know, I think you may be right about the boat - it is one of my absolute favorites!! :rotfl: Honestly, it is almost magical to take the water launch to the MK!

Now, I do not feel the same about the boat at the EPCOT resorts - that thing is not fun and slower than slow. Ugh!!

TWO MORE SLEEPS!!:woohoo: (how many ngts will you be gone?)
(p.s. Just noticed in my quote that I wrote DH instead of DW!!!! Oops!:upsidedow )

I posted a question once before and didn't see a response. Does anyone have a list of the appetizers that are served in the Old Faithful Club?

We have ressies for Aug for concierge:banana: I too have questions. My son has allergies and we only let him have bottled water when not home. I read that they don't have bottled water any more. Silly things that I worry about...

Yeah. I always make sure that we ride the boat first thing. Yeah the epcot boats are way too slow.

We are there for 3 nights. We are only going to the parks on Friday and Sunday. Doing evening extra magic hours(MK) to avoid the heat, so we will be at WL a lot. :woohoo:

Can't wait til you get planning your granddaughter trip! :cheer2::cheer2:

Brian. <-- Who is so excited about this trip!:banana::banana:

I've read on the club level thread that you can ask the ipo(itinerary planning office) to get what you need. I'd ask the question on that thread to see if anyone else has gotten it.

Brian

Oh.my.gosh. It is all I can do NOT to start planning Sophia's first trip!!! Her mom and dad are not ready yet - her dad has never stayed on site and only went to MK for a few hours:sad2:. My DD grew up going but has not been since 1998!!! This will be such a fun trip for them and I know they are looking forward to it....but you know how costly it can be and Sophia will be 3 in Sept so she will not be free by the time they can go. They would love WL or AKL, but we could wind up a mod...even a value.

Gee, Brian, are you excited yet??? :cool1::yay::cool1:

Unfortunately, the club levels have stopped offering menus so the selections aren't always predictable, but these are some of the Old Faithful Club offerings from 5-7:

Soup
Grilled/marinated chicken on skewers (usually one hot dish per evening)
Pulled pork BBQ with slider buns
Various cold salads
Smoked salmon dip
Crackers and various cubed cheeses
Fresh fruit and bread
Uncrustables cut in half
Raw vegetables with hummus dip
Buffalo sausage
Salmon patties

Every evening between 8-10 they serve a delicious, fresh hot cobbler:goodvibes

While they don't put out the small bottles of water, they do have the large glass bottles of water. If there is any dietary requirement your son has, don't hesitate to email the IPO and tell them that your son has allergies and ask if they have available what you need.

Thanks WDWKOOK! I knew you would know. :lmao: I guess they could get water bottle and refill it from the water at the lounge. hmm....

I'm sure they would do fine at a mod or pop. Will the Animation one be open by the time they go? It'd be fun to be one of the first to stay there. If not I know Pop is nice and as a big following.

I'm so excited I can't concentrate at work. LOL! I need to just relax!!! :hippie:

OK better log off so I can get some work done. :rotfl:

Brian what a day. My Nathan graduated from elem today and then on the way home my moms car caught on fire. It has been a busy scary mess today. So tired as we didnt sleep last night either and two parties left to go and then off to disney. wish us luck bc i feel kinda nervous.

Hope you guys r getting excited.

Yikes, I hope everyone who was in your mom's car is OK. Cars catching on fire seem to happen a lot around the area where Nathan and I live:sad2:

You're welcome, but I'll have a more definitive answer in July as I just re-re-re-re-booked WL/CL. It was our original resort for the second half of our split stay and after several changes:rolleyes1, I was finally able to switch back to the ol' Lodge with our military discount. Thank you to whomever canceled:worship:

I hope you get some sleep and have a safe trip:thumbsup2. Are you packed yet?

Oh my gosh!! Is everyone okay? What a scare. Hope you are not in the wake of any storms today.

What time do you leave? Tonight or tomorrow? Be safe!! You'll be so happy when your feet touch down on Disney property!!:goodvibes

Thanks WDWKOOK!

They had the Evian glass bottles of water at both the Poly and the BWI when I was there. The BWI staff would give you one to put in your fridge in your room if you asked.

The food at BWI had a Mediteranean Flair and Poly had Asian theme so I was curious as to what the Old Faithful Club would do.

I have to work until noon tomorrow and then it is off to the airport for one night at CBR before moving over to the WL on Friday morning.

I hope everyone going this next week has safe travels and I appreciate all the great advice you all have provided on this thread!

Safe travels to everyone leaving soon. Wish us well.
