You're welcome, but I'll have a more definitive answer in July as I just re-re-re-re-booked WL/CL. It was our original resort for the second half of our split stay and after several changes, I was finally able to switch back to the ol' Lodge with our military discount. Thank you to whomever canceled

I hope you get some sleep and have a safe trip. Are you packed yet?

I know you are one of the original resort changers. I did it with out December trip and switched from wl/akl to akl/cr, now shortened to just wl, but I had to fight for a room at wl that did not have bunkbeds. I'll remember to never give up a wl room in december!

Christine, I'm so excited. We are leaving first thing Friday morning. Wish you were going! I'll ride to boat to the MK first thing to honor you and my Mom.

Traci, I'm glad everyone is ok. Tell Nathan congrats from your friends on the DIS. Just think tomorrow you will be on your way. Be sure to say hi if you see us!

I have to work until noon tomorrow and then it is off to the airport for one night at CBR before moving over to the WL on Friday morning.

I hope everyone going this next week has safe travels and I appreciate all the great advice you all have provided on this thread!

Hi everyone

Just back from a truly wonderful 2 week stay at the Lodge

It was our first time at this resort and all I can say is WOW

The room was wonderful and the CMs couldn't have been more helpful

We were upgraded to a courtyard view and were in room 4019

Here is the view back towards Roaring Forks from our balcony

And here is the view looking out towards the pool

Our lunch at WCC was probably one of the best meals of the trip and I just loved the waffles at RF for breakfast

I highly recommend doing the Lodge Tour if you get time as it makes you appreciate this amazing resort even more

We also got to be the Flag Family on Monday 23rd May and that was without doubt an incredible experience

Thank you for your mini TR and your beautiful photos, Linda67. It sounds like it might be the first of many visits to the WL? How lucky to be upgraded

What time do you meet up for the flag raising and about how long did it take from start to finish? Sounds like you had lots of fun with the tour and eating at WCC is always a hoot, isn't it? Does the tour still include the Smokehouse with a sample of their salmon?

Looks like you'll be back in just about 4 short months. I hope that trip is as good as this one was

After a very long abscence from the WL....well since Jan 2009 which is way too long to be away from our beloved Lodge!!!!
We are finally making it back for a quick weekend getaway before our son starts kindergarten!!!!

We are going to be there July 30-August 2...CANNOT WAIT!!!!

Brian, sounds like you've become a junior member of the Resort Changers! (You can find me over there too. Funny, I never changed resorts until 2004 when I wanted to take a friend for her birthday and every time she would mention a resort where she'd like to stay, I'd switch to that resort. We finally stayed at GF, but I fear that planted the seed for resort changing on most every trip from then on.)

Wow, you have been upgraded just about every visit, right? Maybe you should book CTYD so that you can be upgraded to CL like we were at Christmas Because of the upgrade, I booked CL for our next trip

I'll be in Epcot tomorrow and MK tomorrow night after Illuminations.

Wish i was brave enough to book standard or woods and see what happens, but I'd hate either view so much that I could never take a chance.

If only that would work! Guess I can't complain - was upgraded to a one bedroom at SSR and that was great. Then last year was given a comp room at WL for the day when we had a very late train departure and they knew I'd just had major surgery. We called to ask if there was anyway we could check out at noon instead of 11, she asked me a couple of questions (which is how the surgery came out), said she'd call me back in a few..3 mins later she called, said she had bad news - we could not stay in our room because they were sold out, but she had a room in the Lodge for us for as long as we needed it - to stay until we were ready to leave for the train. Amazing!!

I always book what I'd be happy with too, so not much chance of an upgrade...which is fine...as long as I have a decent view!

Congratulations on another upgrade!!! I've never heard of being able to check this online before your trip. Do you mean you can check the Disney website a few days before your trip? I just booked a standard room for 2 nights in September. Thanks for the info, and have a magical trip!

We will only be there 5 days in December. Figured a short trip with the princess will be better. Though her Grandma(my Mom) informed me tonight when we dropped her off that they are heading out to the Jersey Shore until Monday. So they are going to have a good time too.

Were heading to Epcot for lunch in Mexico(for ambiance more than the food. But we both agreed today to ride the boat to the MK first thing in honor of you and my Mom, then ride the monorail to Epcot
