See Page 1-post # 2 for all the room view options. I would request North Wing overlooking the otter pond. Request 6th floor for a enclosed balcony or 5th floor for open rail balcony.

Beckie

Thanks Beckie! I should have read through the great info posted better. :)

Hi, wondering why/if some folks prefer a closed in balcony instead of an open one? I assume it'd be greater safety/comfort factor with the kiddos--but wouldn't it make the room feel darker and smaller?

I've never been to WL so can't picture it well.

Piglet's Mommy,

Thanks so much for the pictures. Made me get excited. :-)

Just 33 days here!!!!

Hi! Staying at the WL for the first time this Febuary. We have a bunk Woods view room. Any suggestions for room requests? I have one who will be sleeping on the way home every night and we prefer a quieter room. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Since the Woods view room face away from the courtyard, most of them would be quiet. I'd probably request one on a high floor, on the north wing. It's so nice to watch the fireworks one night from the balcony. It's also not loud.

Enjoy!!!

Brian

Your pics are fabulous, Heather!! I may just have to try the WL in December sometime. :) Although would not have been thrilled with that view from the room. :sad2: Of course, the seating outside your door and view of the Lobby make up for the view from the balcony!! :thumbsup2

Looks like it was a perfect trip! :goodvibes
Thanks, Christine!
While the daytime wiew wasn't great, it was awesome at night! I took pics of the castle and fireworks, but they didn't come out at all...you just have to see it. Another plus was no lights shining in through the curtains at night:thumbsup2

I personally prefer open. My kids are now tall enough to see over, but if not, they would have been trying to climb up to see over, which would make me much more nervous than having the standard open balcony. The "bars" are close enough together on those that I wasn't the least bit nervous with those.

We have connecting rooms booked for our trip in Dec. 2010 w/ a woods view.:goodvibes

This will be our first stay at WL and I was just wondering if anyone has stayed in connecting rooms w/ a woods view before and are connecting rooms on all floors or just certain ones. Where are the woods view rooms located( near lobby or pool etc)

From the pics on here it looks like an awesome place.

Hi!!!
AFAIK, the connecting rooms are all scattered throughout the resort, on all floors. There are some woodsview rooms off of the lobby (we were just in 4081, off the lobby, but it did NOT have a connecting door...it was right on the corner.) There are also woodsview rooms up the North Wing. Check out the map in the link on page 1 for a better visual. There are some Woodsview rooms that are very convenient to the pool, but none overlooking the main pool, those are all courtyard views.
Congrats on booking your trip, and enjoy the planning!!!

Finally, it has arrived. Our flight leaves Cleveland early tomorrow morning.

We are going to be down in Orlando for two weeks. The first 3 days we are going to be visiting Universal Studios and staying at the Portofino hotel. We have never been to Universal and are looking forward to it. We plan on spending two days at Universal and then spend a day at Sea World. My dd(12) has never been to Sea World and I'm sure she will enjoy it. We use to have a Sea World near Cleveland, but it was closed after 2000. I sure do miss it.

Friday we arrive at WDW and will spend the remaining 11 days at the WL. My parents who moved to Arizona 2 years ago will meet us there for 7 of those days. We have an ADR set for Narcoossee's the first night and have a surprise for my daughter. She has not seen grandma & grandpa for two years and she does not know they are going to be there. As soon as we are seated they are going to stroll in and surprise my daughter. I can't wait.

If I don't get online for the next two weeks I wish everyone a Merry Christmas:santa:

Well, this just brought tears to my eyes! As a grandmother of only a year, I cannot imagine not seeing my grand-baby for 2 years - what a wonderful surprise.

I hope you all have the most magical visit ever! A very merry and blessed Christmas! :goodvibes

I saw some animal topiaries (spelling??) in the photos a few posts back - are those only for the Christmas decorations or do they have those all year round?

All year long. Just without the bows.:santa:

Just a side bar: Does it seem like that the WL is having an increasingly number of complaints about Mousekeeping? Seems like I read more and more post about how bad the rooms are kept up, and how dirty the rooms are.

dont know about wl, but we had a horrbile experince at movies in october. it took us complaining i dont know how many times to get the floor vaccummed, soap in the room, tp in teh room etc. finally on our last day the carpet was vaccummed soap and tp left and out of the 8 days ds's crib was actually made. maybe its all about turn over, i know i spoke with one cm at the front desk who had no record of my orginal complaint- made at desk in person- saw her type it out- and she said she knows theres fast turn around and they dont have much time to spend in the rooms.

In my own experience housekeeping has been going downhill for the last several years at all levels of resorts. Our bathroom at GF was surely not vacuumed between guests, same for the entire room at FQ, CBR and POP. I know there have been cutbacks and outsourcing, but one has higher expectations for a Disney resort - especially after 27 years of stays with the excellent housekeeping experiences. We began to notice a difference in September of 2004 at GF and each stay since, at any resort, has been the same or worse.

A guest can no longer expect Disney's former excellent service in most areas. It's sad...but has not kept us from going until recently.
