Glynis – I hope you have a great day!

Ellen – I hope your dinner tonight with Matthew & Amy is wonderful!!!!!

Ann – Prayers for DF today.

Laura – I had to chuckle at your upscale sophisticated little girl!!princess:

WFD - Out with my NOLA gals and hubbies tonight to bid farewell to one of our group who is moving to Orlando! I think we have 18-20 of us tonight, should be fun!:thumbsup2

Good morning ladies! So much to catch up on and it all slipped through my mush-filled brain...

Kathy, how exciting for you! We are also going to Food and Wine and the Halloween party this year. I don't have the dates locked yet. Once I do we can compare on facebook.

Ellen, I hope you have a nice dinner tonight. The menu sounds tasty.

I did have the split pea soup last night and it as good. I took a picture but have not looked at it to see uf it is worth sharing or not. It IS split pea soup after all.

Not sure wfd yet.

Tonight is Caili's dinner out for landing her salchow, so we'll see where she picks. She was trying to talk me into taking her to this really upscale, expensive place that we usually only go to when we have gift certificates. I said I was really happy about the salchow, but I really don't want to spend $150 on dinner for me and the two kids, especially since the only reason she wants to go there is because they make awesome desserts.

How about taking her there for just dessert? :thumbsup2 Have dinner at a less expensive place then on to there for dessert.

Well the weather did not cooperate so off to a school I go. My head is all better today, lots of caffiene and ibuprofen.

I just wanted to jump in because I was lurking last week and wound up making the cabbage roll soup that Glynis posted. It was a HUGE hit, even from my skeptical DH so thank you! I love to cook so I would be happy to share recipes with all of you.

Dinner tonight is most likely pesto shrimp over pureed cauliflower and roasted broccoli on the side. I have a sick little guy though so we'll see how the day goes.

Glynis- Happy Birthday! Have a nice evening with Alan!

I'm glad you stopped by! Please share your recipes, the more the merrier. Hope the little guy feels better soon!

Please excuse this poor excuse for a friend.....

I havent read back but please know im sendin love and good vibes ower the water to all who need it !!

Oh Pishtush! You are a wonderful friend!

When I get home tonight I have to start cleaning this house. Just a little picking up during the week is just not cutting it.

Not sure about dinner yet.

I hear you on the cleaning. I had been doing a lick and a promise for too long, it really got ahead of me!

Matthew is bringing Amy home to meet Doug and I tonight. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I am so happy for him, as he finally has a smile and a bit of a hitch to his step. I just can't wait to meet the girl who is responsible for it.

WFDT ~ Rump Roast, potatoes, carrots, gravy, peach salad, homemade dinner rolls and strawberry shortcake. I hope she likes it - Matthew picked the menu so I know he will be happy.

Make it a great day my friends.

So she's staying for dinner????? Nice! Glad that Matt has a hitch in his giddyup :thumbsup2

Hope that you get the sun soon!
My boy has an infected hang nail... so I need to shower to take him to the store to pick out fun band-aids... so he will let me tend to his wound without a hassle.

My DF is going to his surgeon today for his annual check-up on his knee replacements. Hoping he gets some answers on his hip today also so he can schedule surgery. He is in awful pain daily now.

BBL

Best of luck to yoour Dad and I hope the little guy finds his favorite bandaid....Kady loved her bandaids. And don't get me started on Marisa..........................

:lmao: Well it was worth a try.......

Marisa is doing really well. She goes back to work in February but only for three days a week. The days that she has PT are still too hard for her. SHe is not to go on snow or icey days.

Lauren- I looked to see about the house but I cannot find it....did you get and offer

Dinner is chicken and something.

Becky – I’ve been craving split pea soup, going to have to make some soon! Hoping our dates overlap so we can meet!!!!!:cool1:

Marilyn – Great idea about taking Caili for dessert!:thumbsup2

Michele - :welcome:

Hey y'all,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GLYNIS!!!! :dance3: I hope you have a great day!

Michelle, Welcome!

Aimee, I hope you are feeling better.

Ellen, Enjoy your dinner with the kids!

Laura, I hope Caili agrees to something less expensive!;)

Becky, We are planning on going for F&W. Most likely the same time as Kathy's, just haven't gotten on the phone yet. It would be great to see y'all again!

Nancy, I didn't realize Marisa hadn't returned to work yet. I hope recovery comes along a bit quicker!

Lauren, Glad T is feeling better & the hubby is coming home. Thinking of you.

Well we have sunshine today! Finally. So I sat outside reading the paper & drinking coffee. But my yard is such a mess. Oh well. Gotta get going to PT.
As y'all know dinner tonight is out with my NOLA girls & some hubbies!

Have a good day friends!

Awww, poor little guy. When will you hear from DD? Hope he comes home with some good news.

Laura, hope Caili has a great time tonight.

Michelle Welcome!

Wendie, safe travels:hug: Please check in!! I hope you visit the spots I sent you.

Bethany, of course we will have a mini meet......I really can't speak for Nancy & Marisa but I'm sure they will be in;)

Kat, still waiting to her from Gregory.....

We have decided F&W is in our future this year. Dates will be on FB. Greg will be coming this year.......(hopefully there will be 3 of us).

Very gray here today but no rain. I was soaked yesterday running around.
Dinner is out tonight w/ some of the other kids & their "adult"
DM is fling in tomorrow for 24 hours because she is jealous & wants to part of the pj party tomorrow night.....She is nuts but I'll be so happy to see her.

Laura - I like Marilyn's suggestion - go for dessert!!

Our F&W trip for the moment is cancelled. I'm still hoping that last minute something will work out.

Ellen - I hope you get some sun soon. I know we finally have some and it makes a world of difference. I hope you have a wonderful dinner tonight!
How exciting to be meeting Amy.

Aimee - glad the meds are getting you thru.

Ann - good luck to your dad; I hope Luke's toe (and Luke) survive the hang nail.

Lauren - glad that Thomas is feeling better. Prayers continue for your brother and that the house sale goes thru.

Janice - I hear you on the housecleaning. I have to do some re-working on my office. We're getting a new bed for Erin (my son and dil are donating the full size from their guest room, to make way for a future nursery). Anyways, I need to move the futon and some book shelves out of her room and into the office.

Maria - looking forward to stage mom stories!! Prayers said for Greg. I've been in your shoes and it ain't fun. I'm glad that you are having a good time in Chicago, you certainly deserve it.

I don't find this kind of landing "really cool". A lot of airports do that and I find it unnerving! LaGuardia is like that, JFK is similar, and the one here in New Orleans looks like you're about to land in a swamp. Incidentally, I am not fond of flying in and out of Denver. It's open prairie around the airport, but because of the mountains, they get a lot of strange wind patterns. The roughest landings and takeoffs I've had were at that airport

I've never been a big fan of flying, and I'm much better now than I was in 1994 on my first trip to Roatan. The runway is just like that and I was on the water side of the plane and nearly had a heart attack at the sight of it.

I hope tonight goes well!! You'll have to tell us all about her :goodvibes

Aimee -- I don't use my mandoline often, but I am so glad I have it. I'm glad the medicine seems to be working. You have your surgery consult next week, right? I hope you are able to schedule that faster than it took to schedule the consult.

Yes - less than a week now! Next Thurs afternoon.

I hope you are able to negotiate on dinner plans with Caili. Girl must have good taste in food ;)

Welcome!!

I'm a little torn on the surgery thing... There is a big conference I go to every year in February. A group of us are planning to go, I already booked airfare for myself and we booked a room and rental car. I REALLY want to go, but I REALLY want this surgery ASAP. The conference is just 3 weeks after my consult visit so he may not get me in before that anyways. BUT, if he can get me in like a week after I'm not sure what to do? In addition to this out of town conference, I have 2 more I plan to attend the first week of February AND two children's events the first two weeks of February. February seems to be the time for great conferences and seminars and there are some GOOD people at these. I feel like I've waited this long... but again I've waited this long.... March is a little slower due to spring break and Lent.

I have a retreat this weekend... I wanted to rest today but ended up having to run all over town to buy the rest of the supplies I need. My other adult chaperones all know my "situation" and are willing to do all the work if I need to just curl up in bed or head home early. The kids don't really know I'm sick and I'd like to be "myself" if I can. We'll see.

Dinner will be fast food that I pick up on my way to the camp.

ETA: The weather here is great, though a little windy. High 70s, sunny, so nice for a retreat with kids!!

ETA2: Happy birthday, Glynis!!!

Just wanted to let you girls know my DM just called. Dad is now on the surgeon's list to be done sometime in March. So glad he actually scheduled at first he was saying he was not going to have it.

Thank you for such an unexpected warm welcome everyone!

My little guy seems to be perking up with some medicine so I was able to get dinner started after all. He's eating a bowl of the mashed cauliflower as we speak.

Aimee- just read back and I wanted to wish you luck with your decisions. My husband is a gastroenterologist and I know how difficult and consuming those health issues are.

I'm going to try to jump in but it might take me a little while to get to know everyone but I'm looking forward to it!

Maria – Hoping we finally get to meet in October! I sent you a second pm earlier. Have fun with DM tonight!

Lauri – Oh no! Your trip has been cancelled?????? I hope it works out so y’all can go. Can’t wait to meet you tonight!

Aimee - The weather here today is gorgeous too! I hope you can work it out and do both the surgery and the conferences.

Ann – Glad to hear Dad is going through with the surgery.

Quick fly by...

Nola girls...have fun!

Nancy, Glad Marisa is doing OK...I am sorry that PT is tough though. Miss her here. I hope Buddy does OK with the CT surgery too.

Michelle, Welcome! Too bad you do not live in Jersey...I am in need of a Gastro.
