The walking dead amc #2

So, I thought right away, last night, that this will end up being a dream. It was all just too good to be true. You know. Everything worked out. Who cares that Jessie and her 2 nutty sons got eaten...or that the wolf guy got taken down by Carol. And while Carl did get a nasty shot to the eye, he lived and will look ******. Maybe he will change in personality too and be dark. At any rate, most everything went too well and in the end they show Rick all soft. I thought...dream but now I am thinking they are setting up this happy, 'we're on top' or 'we can do this together' attitude for the **** storm that's about to come with Negan. Like we're all happy thinking they got this thing down...then, bam, Negan rips it all apart. Gonna be a good bunch of episodes coming up.

It's been a long time since an episode kept me awake at night (probably not since the first one, but I was super angry about the horse scene). Daryl with a rocket launcher may be the hottest thing I've seen on TV :)

* I did wonder why they didn't shut Sam up & why they weren't walking w/ more purpose... it's like they just stopped in the middle of the herd to have a conversation. In real life, had I known my young son was so scared & traumatized by what was all around, I would have put him under my cape as well & just let him walk "blinded" in front of me.

This--the interview with the actress said she thought Jesse had toughened up but clearly not enough-she didn't really face the truth about Sam-From the start of the walk he should have been under her cape and walking "blind"...

And there may have been a cheer in my house (oldest DD and DH were watching with me) from all of us when Daryl launched that rocket!

The Morgan & Carol relationship bums me out a bit. I don't like the conflict with them.

Would be nice if they killed of Morgan. Can't stand the do gooder in him. He really needs to go. Let's hope Carol sees it through.

I would not be sad to see Carl gone, he just annoys the heck out of me.

I LOVED the Daryl with a rocket launcher - best gotcha ever!!!

This article popped up in my newsfeed today. Thought it was pretty funny.

There’s no doubt that The Walking Dead is one of the most spine-chilling and disturbing shows on TV. But it turns out it can be just as scary to those who aren’t even watching.

According to the Great Falls Tribune, police officers in the Montana town responded to multiple calls regarding a domestic incident Sunday evening around 9:30 p.m. ET. 911 callers told dispatchers that they could hear “screaming from a house about someone having a gun.”

Officer quickly responded and surrounded the home, where they observed “loud talking” and “flashing lights.” When they finally entered the home, the found two adults and several kids watching the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead.

Apparently, the family’s big-screen TV was close enough to windows that it fooled their neighbors. Maybe turn down the volume a bit next week, folks.

See I feel Carol is starting to become too evil, and she needs to go...
I was thinking this too. What happened to Sam, and therefore also Jessie and her other son, was Carol's fault. And Dr Denise had the wolf turned around and Carol snuffed that out too.

I agree with you that Carol played a role in Sam's demise and therefore Jesse and Ron's but all she knew about the Wolf was he initially attacked her community and then kidnapped Denise, she had no way to know that he might not be pure evil since she didnt hear the conversations btw Denise and him or see him turn around for Denise

I don't think Carol is responsible for what happened to Sam. She saw how weak everyone was in Alexandria. I think she was just trying to get through to Sam about how dangerous it was out there and he needed to know that for his survival. There was no way for her to know he would later find himself in a herd of walkers and freak out.

I'm not so convinced the wolf turned good. I think he turned for Denise alone, I don't think he would have spared anyone else's life. Sort of like Hannibal Lector and Agent Starling. He formed a bond with her, but was dangerous for anyone else that got in his way.

Great episode!
Yeah, I also thought Sam should have been hidden too or sent with Gabriel. Though I would not have wanted to be separated from my son & wouldn't have trusted Gabriel to keep my son safe. I think I would have gone with my son and Gabriel to the church.

I don't think the Wolf changed. He needed her to survive bc he was bit. Maybe he did make a connection with her too, but he wasn't going to start helping everyone. Once she fixed him up who knows what he would have done.

My impression of the wolf was that deep down he had good in him. He saved her and then got bit by the walker, if I remember right. That is why him getting shot felt like a moment of oh no for the audience. We were starting to think maybe Morgan was right, but now we'll never know. I think that is what is part of the fun (I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for) in watching the walking dead.

I thought it came full circle with the Morgan and wolf storyline when Morgan killed the zombie wolf.

I think he was just saving Denise for his personal reasons and that was it. No good in him. That dude was down the rabbit hole.

How many times have we seen characters we know do something that if we didn't know them would be viewed the same as the wolf? Is the wolf someone who was decent whose humanity has been chipped away by doing what and with who he needed to so he could survive or was he always a bad person. I think he felt a connection with Denise (is that her name?) and possibly brought back some humanity he once had, but who knows how much he had to begin with.

I mean if we isolated ricks behavior and even carol(just to name a few characters ) they have done some pretty brutal things, but because we know their backstory we can view them as better people.

I've never seen Rick kill innocent people. Yes, Carol killed Karen and David, but she at least thought she was saving the group from infection and Rick banished her for it. But who knows, maybe the Wolf really had a change of heart, we will never know as he got killed off. And I can't fault Carol for shooting him. What she had seen of the Wolves (and he appeared to be a leader of some sort) was pretty evil and all she saw was him taking Denise. I'd have shot him too in those circumstances!

But, we can agree to disagree :)

I don't disagree with you, was more just speculating that did we see a glimpse of some humanity in him and I think maybe we did....I just took his helping her as genuine in the moment when he didn't have time to think it through that TWD was kinda showing that even some of the worst may have some humanity and that is the fun part...dissecting the characters. My dad thinks the governor was a smart and mostly good person....I think he was a bully who got off on a position of power who justified horrible actions as that he was doing what was best. I find it interesting how others see some of the characters. Like Carol, she is a fan favorite but I don't really like her. I don't really think she is a good person and is very manipulative. She can be fun to watch, but I'd be ok with her meeting her end.
