The walking dead amc #2

  1. Currently watching Talking Dead, and was shocked when the wolf had an accent. Lol'd when the host commented on it.
  2. Wasn't shocked that Sam went, but what a sequence!!! From Jessie's hand being chopped off to Ron and the gun.
  3. If I hadn't read comic spoilers I'd have been floored about Catl's eye. DH didn't know about it and was shocked and had to rewind it.
  4. Amazed that Father Gabriel, Eugine, and the townsfolk stepped up to fight.
  5. Wow to the beginning with Daryl and the launcher. Assumed that both Abraham and Sasha we're going to be killed. But why not look to see if their weapons survived the blast?
  6. Liked that the wolf saved Denise.
  7. Wow, what an episode!

I thought they were goners too.

And he has nice teeth!!!!

Such an intense episode. My friend and I kept holding our breaths with us anticipating who was gonna go. She has now read the comics so was able to compare. She did like the semi trick to keep the comic folks guessing that they delayed the Sam, Jessie, Ron bit and didn't just start off the bat with those. I did have to yell at the tv in the why have the Mom part leaving the house at the last episode if it meant nothing now aka the trick.

I can only imagine that the intensity will have to go up from there to get to the Negan level.

Someone up thread had mentioned if this could be a dream sequence of Sam's. I'm wondering if the whole show is a dream sequence of Rick's since the show started with him being in a coma. I'm just wondering how they can end this show and Rick waking up in the hospital with his family around him being an ending. Not sure how I would feel about that though lol.

Well, the people in Ca. would have to be having the same dream then, LOL! (Fear the Walking Dead)

The part I found unrealistic in all that was how Jessie just silently watched her son being eaten. The kid didn't really scream either, and when she got it, she didn't scream either. Really? I think I might yell a bit while being eaten by Walkers!

Plus, they were casually walking (and talking...why didn't they shut up) through the herd and just slowly got grabbed and eaten. Meanwhile, Glen and Enid and the Wolf and Dr Denise and other folks are just walking around without the zombie guts on them. And they don't get eaten. Then Rick is single handily fighting them...and he doesn't get eaten.

Very true, I hadn't even given much thought to those situations, other than the Wolf & Denise did have a break in the crowd to scoot through on the way to the wall. But to the infirmary? No clear path there. I wish they re-showed it the next day, but AMC is all Better Call Saul.

Wow - I really enjoyed last night's episode!!

Some of my thoughts:
1-Losing the kid (Sam?) was no surprise, it was leading up to that in the last episode. Sad to see Rick's love interest go though.
2-Shocked at first about Carl getting shot but then remembered the chatter about one of the characters losing an eye and knew that he wasn't going to die.
3-Loved Daryl with the Rocket Launcher :)
4-Was going to be really angry if they put us though all the Glenn drama in the first half of the season only to bring him back and have him die in front of Maggie. Thank you Abraham and Sasha.
5-Love the line by Abraham - "Glenn - would you mind getting the gate" (something like that).
6-Felt a little ripped off that we didn't get any type of reunion with Glenn and Maggie. But then again, what was weeks and weeks of drama for us what much shorter for them (but they did think he might be dead so thought we might see a little more between those two). He didn't even climb on top off the truck and just jumped in the cab instead.
7-I liked seeing the Wolf protect Denise. I haven't watched Talking Dead yet so I don't know if they went into that story more.
8-I didn't want Father Gabriel to take Judith and was yelling at Rick not to let him take her. So I was glad that I was wrong, and even more glad to see Father Gabriel come out and fight with them at the end.

Yeah, Father Gabriel taking Judith....I was like "NOOOOOOOO...WTH!!!!".

Anyone who watched Talking Dead...you get the feeling that Nicotero (director guy) isn't super fond of the Wolf actor??? There was some thing I noticed between the 2, more from Nicotero to the Wolf, like some negative vibe. Some irritation. They should have had Sam's brother...what's his name??...on the show.

i noticed that also especially when it came to talking about the scripts.
nicotero corrected wolf man then.

didn't feel the love between those two men.......

I thought it was a disappointing choice to have as a guest on the show. They could have had the kid who played Sam, or Jessie. They could even have had Andrew Lincoln on to talk about the arc for Rick having hope at the end of the show, or even the kid who plays Carl to talk about where his story is going. When they said the Wolf guy, I was like....what? And yeah, they seemed weird. Like they didn't agree on the back story (there wasn't one, and there usually is, from what I remember) and he didn't get a script etc....

I hope i wasn't the only one happy that weiner kid got eaten. And the mom was screaming, but they muted the noise for the sequence.

That episode needs to be called Send ain the Cavalry lol!

That would be taking a page out of LOST's book. Not exactly the same if Rick were to wake up and be alive, but still in the same vein and unoriginal. It will be interesting to see how the series does end, though, because the comics aren't over yet either.

I agree with everyone, and the Talking Dead, in that it was one of the better episodes of the series. We got to see everyone, make some progress with people like Gabriel and Eugene, and we had a little taste of Negan. I only caught part of the preview for next week, but what was Daryl and Rick going on a run for? I'm kind of hoping that Daryl/Sasha/Abraham will fill the gang in on the Negan situation and they'll be proactive about it. I don't want to wish away the second half of this season, but can't wait for the Negan intro!

They never showed what Daryl and Rick were running to. It did seem like they were following tire tracks, so wonder if they found Negon and his gang.

DH & I watched last night & agreed that it was one of the best episodes in a while.

And, on Talking Dead, while I love Carrie Underwood, I kept thinking that I really wanted to hear Yvette Nicole Brown's thoughts on the episode (she's the one that always comes w/ her pages of notes... I *heart* her!).

I feel sure that Yvette would have had notes from the episode when Sam was in his room drawing &, if what he drew that day, was close to what ended up happening. I also thought it was neat (is that the right word?) how Sam saw a little boy walker in the herd as they trying to walk through while he was remembering what Carol told him right before he was bitten.

Other thoughts:

* I'll miss Jessie.

* I really thought they had saved Glenn's death to happen in front of Maggie - it was kind of exactly what happened to him earlier when he & the other guy fell off the dumpster, but, this time, there would have been no escape. Also, since everyone is waiting for what happens w/ Glenn in the graphic novel, I thought they might have tried to switch it up a bit.

* The verse that Enid read in the church read, "Faith without works is dead," & that kind of lined up w/ both Eugene & especially Gabriel & how they stepped up. Also Denise kind of went through a self-reckoning this episode as well - after she makes it back to the infirmary, she takes a deep breath, composes herself, & then does what needs to be done.

* I NEVER would have sent Judith w/ Gabriel, but I guess it's a good thing they did. At first I was glad they didn't also send Sam w/ Gabriel, because, at the time I was thinking, "If Sam goes w/ Gabriel, one of them will surely end up getting Judith killed." But, looking back, had Sam gone w/ Gabriel, both he & his mom might have lived.

* I did wonder why they didn't shut Sam up & why they weren't walking w/ more purpose... it's like they just stopped in the middle of the herd to have a conversation. In real life, had I known my young son was so scared & traumatized by what was all around, I would have put him under my cape as well & just let him walk "blinded" in front of me.

* On Talking Dead, there was discussion about whether or not the Wolf changed for the better before he died. They kinda went back & forth about it, but I think he did change... or, at least, felt something for Denise. After Carol shot him, he purposefully pulled the walker down onto himself & told Denise to run.

* And, I agree... I thought the actor who played the Wolf was a weird choice for the special guest on Talking Dead. I would have thought they would have had Jessie.

* Loved the way Daryl saved the day! When he came around the truck after killing Negan's gang, & Sasha noticed he was cut, I was thinking, "Oh my gosh. That cut is going to get soooo infected!" They're all so grimy! LOL!

* Loved how Michonne continues to have Rick's back!

At the end I was watching the bunch of them hanging on the front porch...wiping the arms on their brows, chewing fingernails. Seriously, someone nEEDS to have a blood-borne pathogen training class for these guys!

And that right there would be one of the main reasons I couldn't survive... I'm way too much of a germaphobe! LOL!
