The "waiting for SWA to open it's Nov/Dec dates" thread. NOW BOOKING THROUGH 12/12

I do have Ding, but only installed it a few days ago. Once the new dates are released will Ding fares only be in that time frame, or might I catch a RT ding fare, that covers both my dates. I'm pretty sure my dates will b split. My dates are 12/8-12/13

:confused3 Right now I think the Ding! fares end on the last valid date in the System (Oct 28?). The start of the Ding! window moves so it's about 8 weeks in advance.

we are waiting for 12/2-12/10 Philly-MCO flights :cool1: ..............have NEVER waited this long to book flights before................hope it will be worth ($$$), the wait! Bob & Debbie

We are waiting for 12/23 from Philly, we loved flying SW out of Philly.

add us also......coasterbob and shelly3girls....we're waiting for PHL/MCO 12/10
thru 12/17 or evening 12/9 thru evening 12/16 depending on the better price
on SW. I've made our DVC ressies at Saratoga Springs for the 10th thru 17th, but, if necessary could possibly change depending on availability. We too have MAC's so can't download DING....I almost feel discriminated against because of our choice of systems!!!!!! I think I'm going to ask my son if he'll download it at least until we get our Dec. trip booked!!!!

I'm waiting too for 11/29-12/4 from HOU to MCO! We're using awards for 2 RT tickets, so I don't care about the price - just bring the dates on!!!! :cheer2:

I would! It will save you lots of $$ :). Of course, your son won't thank you having to check 1-2 Dings! per day. But, hookairs! :goodvibes.

Another Mac user here. If SW can't be bothered to make their program available to Mac users, I can't be bothered to book their flights. But I do wish they'd hurry up and sell tickets for Dec so a certain OTHER airline will offer sales fares to compete with them! :rotfl:

I do have DING and got $55 flights from PVD to MCO, so saved some over the usual $79 cheapest flight. I figure I have a longer wait because we need to book 12/24 to 1/1. DH teaches HS and that's our window this year.

Waiting in the same boat...December 16th or 17th to 29th. This is killing me. I don't want to book my Best Rate AP without my airline tickets booked. I don't want to miss the AP rates out right now with the BR program, but can't gamble with the non-refundable dep. and change fee for the resort if my dates don't work out.

Great point. If you have to fly in the night/day before (to get a good airfare) you can stay offsite but that won't work if the answer is to fly in a day later.

Waiting for Nov. 7-13 for the 7 of us. Song had $79 each way but the only $79 return time was early am. I wanted to wait for a better return time on SW and thought at least Song was an affordable back up. Now Song's same return fare is $172! I really hope SW hurries - I was thinking Thursday (happens to be DH and my 15th anniversary)  . ALso waiting for February :hourglass - but I'm sure that will be another thread!

I read the post that said SW is adding Fort Meyers to their schedule. Is Fort Meyers anywhere close to WDW. Also, are there any other places that SW flys to in florida that are close enough to consider? We are coming from Austin Texas in late Dec. and SW's current prices aren't really that competitive compared to other airlines so I would not guess they would get much better over the holidays. But sometimes just flying into another airport makes a big difference.

Just hangin' out waiting for the fares.....
Anybody care to join me :drinking1
I'll get the first round while we're waiting:drinking:

90% of personal computers run Microsoft Windows. 5% of personal computers run Macintosh OS. (Most of the remainder of personal computers run variants of Unix/Linux.) So, it basically comes down to an 18-to-1 advantage of PC usage over Mac usage, while building an application to run under Microsoft Windows doesn't cost anywhere near 18 times as much as it costs to build a Mac application -- if anything, it actually costs more to build a Mac application than to build a Windows application.

You do love to bicker, don't you? Sorry no platform wars here! I didn't say I was right or wrong, just that I wasn't inclined to do business with Southwest under the circumstances.

Any sensible business will make an effort to reach the entire marketplace. Have you never noticed how depressed some businesses get when their profits or market share go down 5%? For some reason they don't see it as negligible.

I thought I'd pull up a chair, pour a cold one and wait with ya'll....waiting on 12/18 to MCO and a return on 12/25...any of the following airports for the other end...St. Louis (STL), Nashville, TN (BNA) or Indianapolis (IND). We live a minimum 2 1/2 hours drive to the nearest airport so we usually spend the night before and when we get back. We've never flown with SW, but I'm willing to try it...heard good (and bad) things just like most airlines. I've got DING! on my toolbar and got a glimmer of hope last week when the one-way was $69 for IND - MCO, then read the RT was $97...

It's about a 3 1/2-4 hour drive to Ft.M....and that's driving at a good clip too.

I too am waiting for 11/6-11/13. I hate waiting!! I am checking the site at least 2 x's a day. Flying out of Philly and have noticed that the Ding offers do not included many Philly listings anywhere. I really hope this is worth the wait. I really thought SW was going to mean much cheaper airfare for this trip but since we are flying Sun to Sun (Tues to Tues last time at $160 rt) I guess we are not going to save much.

see you also that week and waiting for fares. a lot of people I know from nj are waiting for the fares also. we will have to act quick or driving down is in our future.
