The Voice: Season 2 Official Thread

Check out this article on the Christina/Tony story:

http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsideth...-99-problems-a-jab-at-christina-aguilera.html

In the comments, someone said they were at the taping last night and that Christina was not there during Adam and Tony's duet of "Yesterday". She has taken rude to a new level.

I know there is a lot of back-and-forth between Christina and the other judges, which I assumed was good-natured and mostly for entertainment. But this deal between Christina and Tony has to have caused some real tension between Adam and her. He must be seething inside.

i think Tony was definitely a front-runner, along with Juliet. but i honestly think Christina's nastiness probably pushed him ahead for the win. add in that Juliet had a bad night and i'll be surprised if he loses.

99 Problems and Yesterday are ahead of all the other Voice performances on iTunes. i bought them both.

if you follow MMC, a lot of them are supportive of each other. but Christina Aguilera has always been somewhat separated from them. i don't know if it's that she feels she's better than everyone or if it comes from the other side. but it's been that way for a long time.

Justin Timberlake tweeted to vote for Tony again yesterday. good for him. if he wants to support his friend, he is allowed to do so.

i wish they'd get rid of Christina. last year, she was obnoxious. this year, she just went WAY overboard with her hate directed to Tony. i saw an interview with him where he said that someone did have to tell her who she was. i think they were on the show for 2-3 years together. but he also said she said other things to him backstage (nothing bad), but that they only showed the Britney part. the interview was done before the battle rounds, when she started being nasty to him.

i've never thought Adam liked her much. i thought the whole "Moves Like Jagger" was just to say, "see, we like each other." it doesn't even look like she was really there for the video taping of that. that's just my opinion though. Adam has always been very careful with what he says about her in interviews. BUT, i think it was obvious last year that he couldn't stand her.

Hmm.. I'm getting an error message, that text voting is unavailable.:confused3

I couldn't connect to the voting on FB last night, either. I was able to get 50 in this morning, though :thumbsup2

I was seething last night after Christina's comments, and I couldn't bring myself to vote for anyone but Tony (20 times between cell and home phone). I usually cast just one or two votes!

I thought Tony, Jermaine and Chris all did amazing last night. I feel bad that Juliet was sick, but she just didn't have it and I didn't like any of her song choices.

I've not been much of a Chris Mann fan, but he really did a wonderful job in all three performances. The duet with Christina was truly beautiful. I agree that having Christina as his mentor will probably cost him some votes.

Jermaine did wonderfully, too. I thought Soul Man was particularly fun. I guess he's just not my style, "too big" with lots of ballads.

I loved all three of Tony's performances and thought he and Adam really harmonized well on Yesterday. I'd never heard "99 Problems" before and thought it sounded great. Had to look up the original lyrics--wow, Jay-Z sure had some anger!

I thing Christina's petty bull***t might've won it for Tony. As if her predictably catty comments after Tony's performance weren't enough, she basically said he's not a "real man" when she went onstage with Chris. Not only was it demeaning to Tony, it was disrespectful of Chris, who deserved her undivided attention and support instead of having to hear her push her anti-Tony agenda.

Thought Tony handled himself well in the midst of Christina's bullying, and I loved Adam's shirt. I think he stuck up for Tony without going overboard.

So in summary, hate Christina, love Tony, and I think she tainted the entire show this season in her personal vendetta against her former MMC castmate.

I could've written this! Seriously, her high school attitude towards Tony speaks volumes of her character. She could've won another one for Adam and killed her chances for Chris, which is SAD because he was AWESOME last night!

I noticed that they look at all the categories and announce the rankings on the varying ones.

Tony and Juliette have the top 7 songs on the Rock chart.

Jermaine is #1 on the R&B chart.

Tony and Adam has #5 on the Pop Chart and Chris Mann has the #6 and #7.

These are a better idea of the money making ability of all the finalists, much more than votes. I guess they'd like to see if the fans will put their money where their hearts are!

Several sites reporting about the big blow-up between Adam and Christina during rehearsal. I don't think she has any right whatsoever to dictate what song Tony performs or how he chooses to perform it. No wonder Adam was livid--she was trying to sabotage his team like she sabotaged her own (Jesse Campbell).

Sounds like those two judges will have difficulty working together in the future, and I bet one of them leaves the show. Please, please, get rid of Christina! From other things I've read, the crew doesn't like her much either (very demanding and nasty to anyone and everyone she thinks is beneath her). The contestants are all afraid of her (even her own team).

The other three judges have a great rapport and make the show fun to watch. They're really trying to mentor other artists and have an interesting, fair, healthy competition. Christina, not so much.

Surprised that Christina didn't realize that "Harder to Breathe" was all about her too:

How dare you say that my behavior is unacceptable
So condescending unnecessarily critical
I have the tendency of getting very physical
So watch your step 'cause if I do you'll need a miracle

You drain me dry and make me wonder why I'm even here
This Double Vision I was seeing is finally clear
You want to stay but you know very well I want you gone
Not fit to "funkin'" tread the ground that I'm walking on

:rotfl:

I think Tony won hands down.

I think Christina need to think before she speaks.

...I think Christina needs a good lesson on MANNERS - did you see the way she was just sitting there txtng away while Tony was up there?? How RUDE!! :furious::headache:  And what was all that hogwash about Chris bein' a 'real man'???!!?!?! Pul-LEASE....

....OMG, you are SOOOO right! I never even thought about that!

...but the difference between he and Xtina is, he's got CLASS.

it's my all-time favorite Maroon 5 song. i was so glad he picked that one over other songs. but i didn't even think about the words. ;)

i guess you could say "yesterday" was kind of directed to her too: "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. now, it looks as though they're here to stay." ha!

the thing that REALLY makes me sad is that if he wins, everyone will say it's because of Christina. so, it still ends up being about her. :rolleyes2 i think he has been a front-runner from the beginning, but now it will be clouded.

and i also think she HURT Chris Mann's chances. i'm sure he would've she rather kept her butt on the seat and NOT come up to rant in the mic. and that dress was ridiculous. she looked ridiculous. i guess it's a good thing Max is too young to know better (since she said he was backstage). a teenager might have told her to put those things away. regardless of her dress, she was COMPLETELY upstaged by him. none of her recent projects have done anything and she desperately needs some professional success. she screwed up the national anthem, had sweat running down her legs at a funeral and her recent albums have bombed.

yes, he does. for the most part, he has seemed to ignore her. it's obvious that she's REALLY gotten under his skin this year. she took it to a personal level, where it didn't need to go. i don't know if the true nature of her wrath is Tony or Adam (just projected on his "pet" Tony).

I lurk on this thread but sheesh Christina ticked me off last night. Kathy and Hoda were talking about it on TV today. Christina just completely irritates me and I seriously am convinced Tony rejected her back many years ago.

I don't like Tony at all, not a fan of his cover someone elses original cover of a song and pretend its your own thing he does. He did it with Hit Me Baby One More Time, he copied Marty Casey's cover and now with 99 problems, he copied Hugo. I love originality but NOT copied originality.

i don't think he claimed either as his own arrangement. :confused3

Tony is older than Christina. and he was dating Keri Russell at the time of MMC. i don't think she much likes Britney or JT either.

she could've used The Voice to turn her career around. instead, she's gotten an even worse reputation.

Someone needs to fire that woman's stylist!! Um, the back fat was AMAZING on that dress - almost to the point of popping out like the front normally does.
Also wondering if she goes to the tanning bed with that woman accused of taking her daughter?!

If I didn't like Tony before, I sure would like him more tonight. His response to her rudeness was to say thank you and be polite. Boy is Adam getting to her or what - make it about your contestant, Christina - even if he is a real man....whatever (MAJOR eye roll)
