The Voice: Season 2 Official Thread

My DH and I only happened to catch The Voice because it came on after the Super Bowl this year. We had not watched it last season. Goodness, poor Christina. I tell my DH every show that she could be so darn pretty if she would quit trying to stuff herself into skimpy clothes 2 sizes too small every single week. How does someone not tell her that her clothes make her look bigger than she really is?

Did anyone notice that Chris Mann tried to go to her after his dedication song but she then walked back onto to stage with him? I always liked that when the teams would do team songs with the coach, Blake would always sort of sit back and showcase his team. I agree, with others, that Christina is definitely more concerned with herself.

Regarding Tony, my DH and I have been speculating for weeks what he must have done to bring out her wrath. Are you kidding? She isn't even trying to hide her contempt. Again, how is it that she doesn't have someone on her staff that is honest enough to tell her that she is the one looking bad when she slings her insults?

My personal preferences are for Tony or Jermaine. While I know that Chris is an amazing singer, I do think that everything sounds the same with him. I would not buy his records.

...Christina just completely irritates me and I seriously am convinced Tony rejected her back many years ago.

....I'm thinking that too, because when they showed the re-cap of the 4 contestants' journey to finally make it to the last 4, they replayed where she said to Tony that she used to have a mad crush on him....WTG, loser, saying that right in front of his wife! Really???? Wow....

...the back fat was AMAZING on that dress - almost to the point of popping out like the front normally does.
Also wondering if she goes to the tanning bed with that woman accused of taking her daughter?!....

...it was like she has plastic Malibu Barbie skin:

I believe she said Britney had a huge crush on him. Regardless, it was still tacky and she has shown herself to be classless on this show.

She said that Britney had a crush on him. I think she did, too and he didn't give her the time of day.

There is TRUE animosity there, way too juvenile for a woman her age. It's time for some serious therapy. Maybe a psychiatrist will make her realize her inner insecurities and that she is no longer the size she was 10 years ago. :smokin:

From Perez Hilton's site:

Those watching The Voice this season may have noticed that Christina Aguilera has come off especially hard on her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star, Tony Lucca, during the singing competition, but according to sources, a clever attempt at retaliation from he and his mentor, Adam Levine, was disrupted by the singer…and ultimately caused a MASSIVE blow-out on set that left production HALTED yesterday!
Apparently, the Maroon 5 singer and Tony decided that for the finale he would be performing the Jay-Z classic 99 Problems as a thinly veiled dig against Xtina, but when she found out, she forced NBC to pull the plug on the entire idea!
And as you can imagine, this set Adam off in one helluva nasty way, and he ended up locking himself in his trailer instead of rehearsing Free Your Mind with the other judges!
The insider explains:
"Christina found out that Adam planned to have his finalist, Tony Lucca, sing 99 Problems by Jay-Z, in which he'll sing 'I've got 99 problems but a ***** ain't one.' Adam and Tony wanted to call Christina out as a ***** but make it clear she's not a problem for Tony. It was completely aimed at her. It was Adam’s idea, but Tony absolutely loved it. Christina thought it was ridiculous. She was highly offended. It ended up that NBC told Adam to change '*****' in the song's lyrics to 'chick.' He said changing the song would be a death sentence. Adam went right up to Christina and said 'you’re the biggest f***ing c***.' Obviously Christina was appalled and hissed that Adam should be fired. She’s sick of being treated this way. Christina is so sick of Adam being looked at as the golden boy of the show. If America knew how disgusting he was, they would be appalled, she always says. Adam wouldn’t do anything until this gets figured out. He was being incredibly immature. By midday it wasn’t even confirmed that Adam would be going through with the coaches performance. It was that bad."
Yeesh!
While it's definitely been clear since day one that the 'friendly' banter between those two on the series is anything but that, this is BAD!
And although it's ridiculous that Christina would go to such lengths just to avoid having her ego bruised on live television, we don't agree with Adam's very rude choice of words!
One thing is for certain, however - it's going to be one INNERESTING finale tonight!
Who KNOWS what will happen?! WE CAN'T WAIT!
What do U think? Team Xtina or team Adam?

i don't believe everything i read. and that article is clearly one-sided. (i had read that on another site earlier this morning.)

now, there very well could've been a blow-up. things have been tense between Christina and Adam since last season. but i don't believe Christina is innocent by ANY stretch of the imagination. the boys all seem to get along really well. she's the only one who seems to ever make it personal and who ever seems to not get along with the others. that's just my take.

she should also know by now that every time she goes after Tony, she's the one who ends up looking bad. and texting while he was speaking, leaving for their performance... ALL bad on her.

Well, the drama on this reality show, appears to be authentic. Unfortunately, the contestants are the ones, who suffer the consequences. It would be quite anti climatic for Blake or CeeLo to win. Adam clearly has the edge, over Xtina. He plays this game much better.

Tony, Chris, Juliet and Jermaine have helped their careers immensely. There are no losers in this group.

From Perez Hilton's site:

I read this on another site, too, but I'm pretty sure it was attributed to "an insider from Christina's camp." Obviously whoever said it is spinning it from Christina's point of view, and I wouldn't be surprised if Christina had someone "leak" this info, true or not.

Also wanted to note--Adam tweeted that he mentioned last night that "99 Problems" was the Hugo version, but that footage was cut. He linked to the Hugo version on YouTube, and I seriously doubt Hugo is upset at the traffic generated. Never heard of Hugo before; now I wanna listen to more of his stuff!

I didn't start this season on Team Tony, and the show hasn't made me love him. Hearing some of his stuff besides just what NBC wants him to sing, OMG!
I almost hope he doesn't win, because then he can take the clout that he has earned on the show and use it as he wants to, not how is dictated to him. Here are my two favorites:
Darlin I

Its You

And is it too late to jump on the "Xtina's dress was awful" boat. Because OMG! it was awful!! I think her belly button could have been confused for a third nipple her girls were hanging so low!!

I hate that all of this has gone on - to me it's such a shame because I believe it's absolutely going to affect voting. Insane. And even more than that it overshadowed some fine performances for sure. I never cared for Jermaine or Chris at all (Juliet fan) and I thought both of them did very well last night but in my head all I can think of is Christina/Tony/Adam.

And very sad that Juliet was off. Very.

I do not dislike Adam. He's extremely entertaining. But he's quite the diva himself at times. He's controlled himself with class with Christina (on camera); however, I've seen him be both pompous and arrogant to reporters. And although it was his right to do 40/60 for his Katrina/Tony voting -that's the game- I thought his reasoning was absolutely ridiculous. (Cee Lo's made sense in a professional sense). He went on and on about how Tony and him had a bond from the beginning. What is this - a frat house? :rotfl2: A bond. :rolleyes1 A bromance he mentioned. I thought that part of his reasoning was lame. And Katrina would have been the voters' choice without his swing - so if you're going to do it (and that is his right)- at least keep the bond thing in your head and concentrate on his other reasoning: He felt Tony and him could go far with his style of singing. If I were Katrina I would hate to know that the public wanted me but MR. LEVINE JUST LOVES HIM SOME MORE TONY BROMANCE TIME. :woohoo: ;);)

Tony - honestly I don't get it. I thought Christina was bang on when she said weeks back that there were many singers like him and better than him - nothing special in his voice. Or whatever she said. I don't get the big deal about him at all.

I would like Blake's Dia to be the winner. :rotfl2: I guess that won't work, eh? To go back in time to Season 1. I LOVED her. And I'm underwhelmed by the four now in comparison. I love Juliet but too many off songs lately (even before the illness) but Dia I ADORED - I still think about her Petty duet with Blake to this day. :3dglasses

Going to take a listen to see if I feel any different about Tony. Thanks for the links.

Better. But I still think he lacks a je ne sais quoi quality. I don't what it is - hence je ne sais quoi :rotfl2: ;).

In that case we will have to agree to disagree.
When he sings Darlin' I, its like he is singing straight into my soul.

I loved Tony in the blind auditions, then during the battle rounds he didn't stand out much. "In Your Eyes" is one of my all-time favorite songs, so I thought Tony did well in the first elimination round and that Christina was harsh in calling him one-dimensional. The last three weeks, however, I've been very impressed with Tony's performances, song selections and vocals. I think I would have liked him regardless, but the fact that Christina has been so ugly to him and he's handled it so well makes me like him even more.
