The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

“it does worry me that they may have mixed all of the funds together and spent most of the money on the hotel side. This would be a misuse of the Capital Reserve funds, which are paid for by DVC owners at VGC and should never be used on the hotel side except in cases where there is shared infrastructure,“

🤬

Time to lawyer up…..
I never understood the dues budget where hotel rooms are listed at the top. So does DVC own these hotel rooms? They pay the dues on that portion? I remember years ago there was a rumor that they might convert some to DVC rooms. They are probably making more money as cash rooms.

I really like the touches of green that have been added to the room.

Sloppy outlets, a door bar in the primary bedroom that doesn’t fit when locked, and hinge issues (they let me know about the hinge issue before check in and that maintainer would come to fix it).

Those door bars have always been difficult to operate for my kids and they end up not getting properly locked when they use them. Wish there was an improvement in that physical security aspect.

Agreed! Looks a lot nicer than the orange-ish couches I remember.

Thick outdoor seats cushion….

What were the previous outdoor chairs like?

Some new art and they kept my beloved Pinocchio border!

I really love that first painting!

Ugh. Hope we get a patio door that locks for safety reasons. We don't trust our son to go out there on his own.

Live piano and singer in the lobby…. haven’t seen that at any other Disney resort….

Grand Floridian doesn't have that? I guess I just assumed they did. Crazy.

Does anyone know the best thing to clean this with? I’m willing to act like an owner and take care of my own property.

Not sure about the towel bar. But for showerheads, letting them soak with vinegar can help. But you basically need a baggie filled with vinegar and a rubberband to secure it around the showerhead.
