The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

Anyone gonna go grab those resale contracts for only $215 a point? I would if I needed that many points. Ha! Which I could get that PP price on a smaller contract.
Have to say I'm a little tempted. There's a couple this morning at $210pp (Dec UY)!

The problem with VGC is even the smallish contracts cost well north of $30k.

I do wonder if these 210 and 215 ones will make it through ROFR or not. Is there anyway to find out??

And yeah....it's a bummer that even smaller contracts have such a large up front cost. We don't always have $20k+ just waiting around for DVC since we're a single income family. So the timing has to line up perfectly for our next purchase.

Yes, it’s prudent to be overly cautious in that case.

In Jan, DVC did ROFR a contract at $221. Since they were from dvcresalemarket.com, we should see it on the ROFR report next month if it does get taken. At least it'll be on the average sale price report. DVC did just raise the direct points to $330 and direct points are still getting bought.

And it's not like financing through the resale sites is a good options, I just saw their interest rates--yikes! I'd rather stay at Grand Cal paying cash, lol

Yeah, we definitely don't want to finance. I know a lot of people do and that's fine for them. But it's not something I want to do at all. Maybe if the rates were super low but I know that would never be the case. I'm fine with financing my car (1.9%) and my mortgage (around 2.87%) but that's about it. When we bought an RV we considered financing but the rate was something like 10% so that was a hard pass.

Right, but there also hasn’t been a fire that destroyed 12,000 homes close to other resorts that are getting a refurb.

There are also other things going on that might cause a reduction in the supply of construction labor and materials that hasn’t existed before.

So…. we shall see…
We are still in the middle of debris removal. I don't know of anyone who has started construction. Maybe some people who have partially damaged homes.

I didn’t see it in the thread, the 1-bedroom refurb includes a twin pulldown bed in addition to the queen Murphy bed?
