The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

But all I could think was this is absolutely hilarious. My DH throws me a party and what do I get but a Birthday Turd!:lmao::rotfl2: I have no idea why I think this is so funny, but it just cracks me up!

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
It was his "little gift" to you.

:rotfl2:

You can keep your hot temps thank you ! :snooty:

Watching the news, noticed on the weather map that just about everywhere in the US is having a heat wave...... except for the typical cold states (MN, WI, MI, ND, SD) thanks to a cold front looping down from Canada.

It was kinda odd a week ago, middle of July and we had the windows closed, no AC and needed to haul out our comforter... it was COLD!
During the block party for Aquatennial ( Mpls celebration of summer, typically the hottest week of the year) the band performers were wearing winter coats and mittens. :cold:
We've hit the 90's only 3 times this summer  weird!
We may have not as hot temps, but the humidity still creeps up. YUCK! :headache:

Today we have a nice cool breeze, windows open and fans blowing.. ahhhhh.:cloud9:

Currently: 74°F
Mostly Cloudy
Humidity: 40%<< It will increase to 75% overnight, drop in the morning.
76°F | 57°F

Tomorrow
Partly Cloudy
78°F | 58°F

Thursday
Isolated Thunderstorms << nothing new there
70°F | 55°F

Friday:
Times of sun and clouds.
Highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s.

Saturday:
Scattered thunderstorms. <<< see, yet again..
Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s. << brrrr

I haven't looked at the forecast for "up north" where J is at band camp. We've been trying to teach him to be more independent, but sometimes he needs a bit of foot connected with rear to get the best response.

He packed his own clothes.. I nagged him into taking one pair of sweats and a jacket. He didn't like the nagging, but the "suggestion" route didn't work :rolleyes1 eventually I stuffed it in his suitcase before he left. (okay, so he stills needs me.)

heee hee heee I wonder if now he is thinking.. Brrrr... I should have packed more pants.

This is actual the first time he has been away from home and family.
He's our homebody, he doesn't go out very often.

Noah on the other hand is the adventurous one. He's been to a week long wilderness camp owned by the school district, overnights with friends at least once a week, goes to my parents' house on the lake to go boating and fishing with my BIL and DN every few weekends.

Reflecting over J's behavior, E and I decided the surly tone and ATTITUDE were a front to his real feelings.
I think marching band is a good "growing" experience. Forcing him to crawl out from his shell and see what is out there. :goodvibes

But we still miss him. :guilty:

You an always move to Washington.:thumbsup2;)
Or you can come here to enjoy a "real winter" .. complete with blizzards and 40 below temps. :thumbsup2 :lmao::lmao:

We don't have AC. Seriously... I'm melting.

You poor thing!
I couldn't handle that, is it humid too?
The humidity alone is enough to make me cranky, combine with heat and I'm crawling the walls needing an escape.
Mall walking, movies, or a trip to the library are good ways to get some relief.
Maybe a midnight run to the grocery store too? Just tell the stock guys you are "just looking thanks" as you push your kidlets in the cart for the hundredth loop around the frozen food aisle. :lmao:

My joints and muscles let me know when the humidity is on the rise.
The first weeks of summer were horrid, hot and soupy.
I was popping Aleve, Ibuprofen and Tylenol like it was freaking Pez.
I'm glad we don't pay for water, looooooooooooooong hot showers did a good job of relieving the aches .. ahhhhhhh much better.

Low humidity, it's a good thing. :thumbsup2

OK, ready for my gross story.......just skip over this post if you don't want to read about it.

Last night DH threw a little surprise birthday bbq for me. My SIL is watching her BFF's 7yo boy while they are vacationing in Mexico. So he was there also.

Well he he jumps out of the pool all of the sudden and bolts towards the house. We had run out of beach towels for the pool, so he hollers that he needs a towel before he goes in the house. I run out to the trailer and get my backup pool towels. He is standing on the back porch jumping around, so I figured he needed to pee and hurried to get the towels.

A couple of minutes later DD notices that he is standing in the corner on the porch. She asks him what he's doing, he says nothing, huddles under the towel and then darts into the house.

Well a couple of minutes later I go into the house and there about two steps into the house is a turd. So now I quickly realize what the little boy was doing huddled into the corner. :lmao:

I quickly cleaned it up and no one else saw it. But all I could think was this is absolutely hilarious. My DH throws me a party and what do I get but a Birthday Turd!:lmao::rotfl2: I have no idea why I think this is so funny, but it just cracks me up!

New rule at Alison's House.....no need to wait for a pool towel if you need to go in the house to use the bathroom!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:OMG.. How funny!!

It is SOOO freaking humid. We are under a high heat and humidity warning.. watch?? Something. I dont know. But its at 50% humidity right now. Frelan and I have been just at each others throats since yesterday. The only time we fight is when its hot. Neither of us can handle it. It makes us crazy. You know in the winter when they have state and city buildings open as warming centers?? Well. Probably not you guys huh? But when it gets really cold they have certain buildings open for the homeless. Right now they have cooling centers open. Isnt that just crazy?

Kids are gone. Bruce has hopped into the pool and is bored, he needs a pool buddy to play with.:rotfl: I don't really feel like swimming, stayed up late last night and I'm tired.

It's so hot I'm having my coffee in frozen form. Starbucks Caramel Machiatto ice cream...yummy.

Ugghhh Portland is still 100 degrees and it reached 106 there today. Tomorrow is now forcast at 107.

We do in the winter for the homeless (the police make sweeps of known hideouts when the temps and wind chills are dangerous, offering rides to open shelters, day shelters open at night). Also , MN has the cold weather law, heat is not turned off if the bill is unpaid, including vacant foreclosure homes. Squatters move in and take over the house.. stealing the copper pipes.. ripping out whatever they can find.. grrr.

When there are bad ice storms that knock out electricity (and heat), churches and schools are opened up.

I've heard of cooling stations for Chicago and New York. We did have a really hot summer one year, the police went around to homes and gave fans to the elderly and disabled in inner city areas.

mmmmmmm, I had a high value coupon and that is one we picked too. YUMMMMM! I love caramel.

Somehow I'm betting that our freezer's and pantry look alike. That's why I bought mine, good coupon and it was on sale.:lmao:

Do you still want the expired coupons? You commented the other day that you were not couponing as much, instead shopping at Aldi's??

Went to Target at lunch today, really crappy clearance for some reason.:confused3

It's kinda strange, the new Target by my work used to be packed. Now it's almost depressing to walk thru it. Hardly anyone there. But lately they've had good clearance especially in the groceries and cleaning supplies. Not today though.

Sure why not, I got sucked back into it again.

Purged out my expired box, binder and cut my stack of about 2 months worth of inserts yesterday. Today I searched and printed a nice stack, got a game plan going for Friday shopping. :thumbsup2

I'm kinda bummed that I didn't shop last week, jealous reading all the goodies people got on A Full Cup. Missed a TP stock up, ah well... I can stock up on other stuff this week instead.

That's typical for late summer, July is the summer line and toys.. then there is this long lull until the school supplies go on clearance end of September.

After Christmas is the jackpot for "perimeter shoppers", did you know that is what we are called? :lmao: Screw the aisles, I'm hitting the end caps!

I haven't done much shopping or coupon collecting the last month or so. Guess I've just been a bit busy with summer stuff. Sometimes you can get a bit burned out on couponing. But then you go shopping without coupons and get shocked by the prices and start all over again. I'll mail my recently expired ones to you tomorrow. I missed the Sunday paper for a few weeks, so mostly internet ones.

Yep! I have my route and people had better stay out of my way!!!:rotfl: Although the Target by my work tends to leave a lot of clearance stuff on the aisles, so I always scan down the aisle also.

It's funny, but I rarely go down the aisles at Target.:rotfl: Are there actually people that shop the aisles?:rotfl:

The toys were on sale, but even DS is now just about past the toy age. So I just whisked right past the toys. Some of their summer stuff was on sale, but not a whole lot. I've got my eyes on the Summer/Flowery decorated Ziploc sandwich bags, they should be dirt cheap when combined with a coupon here in a couple of weeks.:thumbsup2

I do aisle shopping at Super Target.. with my Target coupons matched with other coupons in my hot little hand of course. ;)

I plan to get a few grocery items on Friday: morning star farms, Kashi, pop tarts (if I get the nerve to price match my grocery ad.. hmmm, maybe not worth the headache at the CS desk), bounty , charmin and some weird degree spray.

If your local Target has the expanded grocery area you can use the coupons too. Check the Target coupon generator on A Full Cup.
