The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Ugh, I had the wost toothache in the middle the night....I woke up repeatedly since the pain was so bad. I found a new dental office that just opened up nearby so I'm going to try it out today.

My primary dentist is not even open today for some reason. They have really odd hours and I don't like going there that much.

This new dental office said that they give you an estimate first before any work is done. Hopefully it will be good and affordable.

Ditto. :)

curious though, if something is cooked with gas powered stove, would the food taste the same as a electric powered stove?
Yep but it cooks faster with gas powered. I've had both and prefer the little fire to cook my food, it cuts the cooking time almost in half but like Alison said you have to watch or you'll burn it.

Aw pix that sucks. It must have been bad if you kept waking up. I hope you get feeling better soon, you seem to have the worst luck with your dental stuff.

I see another boppin' day on the ol' hyena thread. I'm off to FB to hunt you all down.:lmao:

:goodvibes

I miss having a gas stove. :(
I've had horrible experiences with a cheap electric stove in one apt (the one we lived in downstairs actually) , it was either on high, or might as well have been off because it wasn't enough heat to even keep water at a simmer.
I burned a lot of dinners that year, big waste of time and money!

Gas is great, you can control the heat better, warms up/cools off faster, and you have the option to use a burner for other things like toasting marshmallows, lighting a candle, roast/blacken a pepper, warm up tortillas directly on the burner/flame.
Most professional chefs will agree that it is best to cook with gas.

Gas stove is on our wish list for whenever we buy a house/condo. :thumbsup2

8 more days until my honey is home - wahhhhhhhhhhhh. It's seriously boring around here, there is only so much picking I can do on my boys.. I need a new victim. :upsidedow

You can come over here and pick on me. Seriously... I wish one of you was here, I need someone to out and have a drink with!

Thanks Christina. :) The new dental office was nice but they kept me waiting for over an hour (just sitting in the patient chair) and they weren't even busy. They said I need a root canal and that it would cost more than $600 after insurance. :scared1::scared1::scared1: Why do root canals cost so dang much????? :headache:

I'm going to call my primary dentist tomorrow....it's so much more affordable. Hopefully they can see me.

I took 2 advil tablets so I'm hoping it will help when I sleep.

:rotfl: I was wondering where everyone was all day.

So after work I went to the mall to exchange something. I saw that they had brought back a Farmer's Market (it was move to a different location 2 years ago). I was happy and decided to check it out. Unfortunately I stopped by when it was close to closing time. I did get a fresh bag of kettlekorn and tatziki (greek cucumber yogurt). I went to an Aerie store, which is owned by American Eagle Outfitters. They sell bars, undies, PJ's, lounge pants. They have a sale going on where their merchandise is 60% off. I bought some cute sweatpants and a cool blue beach bag. The pants were marked down to $14.95 and the bag was $11.95 on sale. :thumbsup2

I came home and fell asleep for a bit (probably due to the lack of sleep from last night). I finally finished watching the rest of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It's a long film but it wasn't bad. Brad Pitt was HOT :love: and the movie overall was good. :thumbsup2 It was sad but I liked it.

Just did a huge load of laundry and finished putting it away.

Here's a handbag I pimped. It took a long time because the iron-on studs are tricky. I had to cut and separate each letter to prevent the studs from shifting around too much. Here's how it turned out:

Sorry to hear you need another root canal. I have never had one but I can't believe it's 600 bucks after insurance! That's crazy! Dental here is really expensive but we get full coverage so it's fine. However most brits don't and they all have really bad teeth. I feel bad for them.

My hair sucks guys. I don't like my stylist anymore so I have to find a new one. The day she colored my hair she left a gap at the front of my head so my roots were showing, imagine how bad they are two months later! :scared1:

So I have a great stylist back home but the problem with him is that even though he's great at what he does he's super lazy. He owns his own salon now so he's always taking time off and cancelling appointments at the last minute. He's not working on the first saturday I'm back in canada, what hair stylist doesn't work on a Saturday?
So I had to book my appointment for the last saturday I'm in Canada, one day before I leave. Hopefully it works out okay and he doesn't cancel the last minute. Geesh, I just want some nice looking hair that doesn't have crazy wisps and dark roots.

Fianlly we are in the t-minus 24 hours and counting. Kids are all packed, dvd player is being charged, both nintendo DS's are charged, movies loaded into iPhone and Blackberry, camcorder tapes are bought, camera has batteries and all I have left is to pack.

We leave tomorrow at 840 on the plane to the best place in the world! We are so excited to be going back. Have not been back in over 3 years so it was time to go back.

I love going back after it's been a few years. It's almost like seeing it for the first time again.

That sucks about the hair sytlist. I know it's hard to find a good one. I've had my share of disasters with stylists. :sad2: I finally found one that I like that it's in the mall. They are affordable and they always do a good job. :)

I'm going to the dentist tomorrow morning. I tried to get an appointment for today but they were over-booked. :confused3 My tooth hasn't hurt since the other night <which is good>. I took 2 advils before I went to sleep last night, just in case the pain were to start up again. The new dentist I went to yesterday was too expensive and they told me that the dentist that had to perform the root canal only works once a month. I can't wait that long.

That's awesome! I hope you and your family have a great time! :goodvibes: I know going to DL after a certain amount of time must feel like Christmas morning! :)

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:You crack me up girl! My plans this weekend. It's our annual town festival - Planter's Days. SO...DS wants to go to the parade this morning, starts at 11, then carnival afterwards.

I need to pull up the rest of my turnips and blanch and freeze them.

Then I'm going to plan my menu for next week. I used to always do that and get some of the things precooked. But with DH being home I kind of quit. Next week he's going on his new schedule, so he won't be getting home early.

Need to finish shampooing the carpet that I started last week. Got everything done but the kid's bedrooms. So need to finish that.

Oh and I also need to get a menu planned and trailer packed because we are probably camping next weekend.

Anyone wanna help!!:scared1:

sigh...
