What's worse is shaving the legs and NOT getting any boom-boom.

7 more days.. 7 more days...7 more days...

sigh...

:(

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well... I didnt shave my legs, and still got the boom-boom.. So Im good! Hairy, but good. :rotfl2:

Hiya Guys! DS decided he didn't want to go to the parade and carnival...I guess I've ruined the fun of small town carnivals by taking them to Disney so much.:rotfl2:

Anyway, I'm now defrosting and frying up about 10 pounds of hamburger. Then I put it in the freezer and we take out what we need for easy to make meals during the week...tacos, spaghetti, chili, etc...:thumbsup2

I might go to town tomorrow and get chicken breast to bake and freeze. Apparently I'm in a Betty Crocker kinda mood this weekend.

Soooo.. I got Roseanne for the TV mom I am most like. I totally see that.

Ill ask you all.. Im taking Alex to a birthday party in a bit... It is okay to leave him right?? I mean, he is seven for crying out loud! Frelan thinks I should stay, because Alex is to young...:confused3

I'm kinda scared to try!:rotfl2: Oh and yes, I think it's ok to leave a school age child at a birthday party for a couple of hours.

Well that's funny we were both thinking the same thing. I had seen your comment on FB a few minutes ag.:lmao:

But I also play it by ear. If you don't get a good feeling when you drop him off, maybe stay a bit longer. But generally I think it's ok. I just usually ask what time the party will end and show up a bit beforehand.:thumbsup2 But if your Mom Radar doesn't feel good about it, then stay.

Right!!! Thats what I thought, but Frelan was horrified. Like Alex was going to get attacked or something! Its at the Y for 2 hours for crying out loud!

I didnt even consider staying until he mentioned it. Its at the Ymca in the Gymnastics rooms, so I really thought it was totally safe. Next week he has a party at someones house, and I am a tad nervous about that one. I told Frelan we need to do a drive by before hand. Just to make sure it isnt a crack house. :lmao:

Anyone here?? Did you all leave????

Sorry, I'm multi-tasking. I'm frying hamburger, defrosting more hamburger and chatting. So if I disappear for a minute you know why. Kind of a pain to cook so much HB at one time, but it sure makes meals during the week easier.

DH starts his 12 hour shifts on the 29th. It's going to be kind of weird getting used to his new schedule...4 days (6am-6pm), 4 days off, 4 nights (6pm-6am), 4 days off....repeat. I think it will work out ok, just going to take a little more meal planning on some days.

Would Frelan want you to shadow Alex every moment at school too? :lmao:
yeah, feel the vibe and cut the apron string..Alex will have a blast and happily share his day with you later! :goodvibes

Interesting... Shift work. That would be hard to get used to.

its weird... he usually isnt so overprotective.

Im hungry

Oh especially if it's at a public place then I feel more comfortable. I would usually kind of hang around and chat with the parents/other adults for a bit, make sure they seemed to have a good child/adult ratio and then take off for a bit.

Tell Frelan this is just the start. They just get older and older and want to do more and more...it's kinda scary at first. But you have to start loosening up the apron strings a bit. It's always harder with the first one.;)

Hamburger?:lmao:

I think the shifts will be ok, but time will tell. It's nice because we have his schedule for the entire rest of 2009.:lmao: I think it would have been harder when the kids were younger. But what is nice about it is having the 4 days off in between. So we were thinking when he shifts from days to nights, he can just start staying up later and later each night getting used to it and vice versa. He said most of the guys that work there like the schedule.

Maybe he's being overprotective because of the shift in parenting babies again. It's hard to make that shift and feel comfortable when your older ones make those first steps into the big world.

Lately we have been pushing J to take on more responsibilities, to learn to be more independent beyond home and family. I gave him a brief "how to" on riding the city bus system, handed him a bus pass and showed him the site to look up the time table..it's beyond time for him to learn this. Considering he will be driving soon, he's gotta figure out how to get one place to another.. and we've learned riding a bus and walking the streets are the best way.

Dump us in Mpls, E and I would find our way home thanks to our carless life in the early years of marriage.

St paul.. not so much :lmao: Always manage to forget the street names.

:lmao:Mmmmm.. hamburger.

Okay.. I think we are off to get some grub. Pizza from costco?? Cheap and delicious!!

My daughter is like that. She can drive, but gets lost just about anywhere except on the beaten path.
