The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

What other ones have you been too? We own one up in Lyttle Creek.

Morning everyone! Have a great day!

That's the one we went to this weekend, Mountain Lakes. :thumbsup2.

It was very nice and only about 45 minutes from our house.

I took a sewing class at Joann's. It was alot of fun. I made a lined tote bag. All the other ladies were older and picked out boring fabric. Mine had skulls and roses on it. :rotfl:

Good Morning Everyone,

I had a bit of a rough morning yesterday and was in a really crummy mood. I went down to Joann's and signed up for 2 sewing classes. I want to learn and they teach you how to sew a pillow sham and a tote bag and how to read patterns.

I drove down to DL yesterday. I called Disney Dining and was hoping I would be able to get into Blue Bayou for lunch. I was told by the CM that it was booked full for the entire day but that I was welcome to try walk-ins. I get to the park and head over to BB. The CM was so nice and I asked if it would be possible for them to take a walk-in for just myself. She said she would go and check. So she walks off and talks to someone and comes back and said in a low voice: "We can get you in. Shhh" I thought that was awesome and it lifted my spirits. I hadn't eaten at BB for a long time. I ordered the Five Pepper Roast. I love their potatoes. They are so good.

I shopped around the park and had a good time doing that. I got my brother a Jack Skellington mug. It says: "Mornings Are My Worst Nightmare" on it. My older sister wanted a mug of Mary Poppins and it has a silhouette of her holding an umbrella floating down and it has the silhouette of chimney sweeps dancing on the side. I got my little sister a Chip & Dale iron-on patch from the Mad Hatter. She loves Chip & Dale so she can stick that on a backpack of hers.

I went to a store on Main St. and I ended up buying a watch:

I also used my AP and got a good discount on one of the Disney Dooney & Bourke bags. I sold some purses on ebay and used the money towards this bag. My AP discount knocked off $35 off the price, which was awesome.

I got the blue Mickey tote:

2nm0zz7.jpg

The two shown in the photo were the only ones I saw. They had a black one with neon colored Mickey's on it. I saw it in Valut 28 in DTD but the pattern was too busy for me.

The park was a little busy because of a cheerleading competition and also because of spring break.

I was in one store in Adventureland and was just browsing around. This CM comes up to me and we trade pins. Then she asks why I look sad. I said: "Nothing." and she said: "Come on, I can tell something is wrong." I told her I broke up with my bf of 13 years and that I was just feeling sad and am trying to get over it. She said: "Awww...well that's normal. That's a long time and it's like a marriage." I told her he was not right for me and that he was emotionally abusive. She said: "You did the right thing. You really did. You don't need people like that in your life. Plus, you are a pretty cute girl and you will find someone better." She was so nice to me and she said: "Trust me, it will be better for you in the long run and this is someone who has been through it too." That was so nice of her to say and her kind words cheered me up a bit. There are some really awesome CM's out there.

The in-laws are on the way home, dh said "short and sweet" .. yeah that about sums it up.
I get a bit irritated when MIL gets weepy/ moody every time E dialyzes.

oh c'mon!!!
He's been dealing with this since Noah was born, 14 years (2 1/2 years with a transplant in between there) with almost two years at home doing it ourselves.

She puzzles me... she asked "Are you always going to need this?" well yeah... it's not like kidneys grow back. Transplants are okay, but the med side effects (and cost) bring their own form of torture. (she didn't understand that even with a perfect match, you still need rejection meds) E's thought is if he is doing well on home hemo, why bother with transplant?

(Interesting tidbit, a small study was done comparing cadaver donor transplant vs daily nocturnal dialysis. The daily dialysis group had better outcomes for survival rates and overall well being. E's current version of dialysis is just one step below daily nocturnal. He's willing to switch to nocturnal when it gets approved.)

She brought up the research of scaffolding to grow organs.. interesting but not feasible anytime soon.

Okay, if you knew your adult son had kidney disease.. had been dealing with it for 14 years.. wouldn't you read up on the subject so you could understand how it all works? :confused3
Or am I the only one that feels that way?

I love to read and find answers to anything, everything that touches my life.
To me it's just weird to NOT be curious, to NOT become informed.

Hi guys!

Hi Rochelle and what a neat story! How great that you got in to BB and LOVE the bag!! Also great about the cast member who spoke with you. I have had a couple long term relationships end as well as been divorced so I know how difficult this is on you. Getting out is a good thing. Get your mind off of things. It is tough but as they say time heals all and eventually it will get easier and easier and hopefully you will meet someone MUCH better for you!!! ((hugs))

Bernice your in-laws sound a bit like mine. Ok for a bit but you are ready for them to go when it is time to go ;)

Sara hope you guys had fun on your campout! That is cool about the sewing classes. We went to Joann's open house a few weeks back and the girls are signed up to take a crochet class on Sat but they called and said they had to reschedule it and with swim coming up I am not sure how that is going to work so hopefully it works out cuz I know they were REALLY excited to learn!! I just hope once they learn they keep up with it because I think it would be fun for them! I don't have the patience for it ;)

We got the house and yard all spruced up and it is SO nice when spring comes and everything is nice and clean and sparkling!! Then I took the girls out on my errand loop and while I was getting in the car at Target I heard this big thump and the guy next to me let his cart roll really hard into my car. ???? I was like OK! He says really lame like Sorry! I just looked at him with this look like WTH! My poor car is getting so beat up. Someone at the girl's school decided to scrape the word DIE in it twice in great big letters last year. Crazy! But otherwise we had a good day. I let the girls each pick out a book to read for the week as both of them seriously need to get their reading up. We just got report cards last week and they BOTH need improvement. So I told them they could pick any book they wanted in their reading level at school as long as they read the WHOLE thing by next monday! So we shall see. ;)

Anywho that's bout it for us. I am off to work tomorrow but hopefully not for too long and trying to think of some fun stuff for the girls and I to do this week. It is supposed to rain a few days. BOOOO but hoping for some fun times.

Have a good rest of the weekend everyone! :)

That's the one we went to this weekend, Mountain Lakes. :thumbsup2.

It was very nice and only about 45 minutes from our house.

We love Mountain Lakes. We used to go a lot when my daughter was younger, but we get so busy that we can't go as much as we would like.

That sounds cute. Need to see a pic!

Sounds like you had a good share of pixie dust. :goodvibes

Our car has been a magnet for all the carts (wind blowing very strongly, a cart went sailing CRASH into the side just weeks after we bought it), bumps from people backing up (second day had car, someone backed into it and took off.. another person left a note.. slight scuff), deer jumped out and hit the bumper and quarter panel, I let go of a cart and it crazily careened off the sidewalk and BUMP, dinged the door, dh backed out of a tight spot and scraped the side quarter panel (already slightly mushed by the deer) on a painted pole (white scrapes).

:sad2:

I will be so glad to be done with it! Big money sucking pile of parts... urgh!
E is going to work on that this week. Bye Bye car! :thumbsup2

E and I plan to take the bus into downtown this week. Library to return books, do some window shopping and see the flower show at Macy's/Dayton's.

I am quitting caffeine, yes Diet Coke too.
(Should have had my MIL take the last of my coffee grounds/beans.. oh well)

E is quitting smoking. :yay:

The plan is to keep busy for the next few days

so we don't try to kill each other :rolleyes1 :lmao:
If you hear any tragic news of death and dismemberment from MN, it was us.

Wow! You are brave!

Drive By Hi! Having lots of fun!!!!

We (DS, BFF and myself) went to Epcot on Wednesday, DD & her BFF went to MK. Then my sister and her son joined us on Thursday and we all went to Typhoon Lagoon. Then on Friday Blizzard Beach. There was hardly anybody at the waterparks on Friday...it was fun, but kinda strange not having huge crowds. We stayed at POR and went to DTD.

The day after we arrived one of the Disney buses crashed into another bus that was parked and they had to take a lot of people to the hospital in critical condition. We heard tons of sirens, so knew something really bad must have happened. So sad for those people.

Came to my sister's last night, walked on the beach today. Tomorrow I have to take DD to urgent care because her new ear piercing is infected. She's not real happy about it, because we made her take the earring out.

Anyway we are here until Tuesday then we will head down south towards Miami. We're just taking our time, spending time on the beaches, etc...So kinda relaxing.

We are all a bit sunburned, but that's normal for us!

Anyway, hope everyone is having a Great Spring Break!!:):):)
What a wonderful vacation. :goodvibesI heard about the crash. I wonder what the latest is about the injured people? :sad2:

HI everyone else!!

Oh gosh Bernice I think that car is possessed LOL. Your luck sounds about like mine at that dept. This is the first car I have actually had PAID for and no loan on and of COURSE it gets all dinged up. RIGHT after I got it I went to a bridal shower up at my cousin's place in El Dorado Hills and they live in the moutains with all these granite boulders everywhere. Well we had to park out in the back 40 and I was backing out and didn't see this BIG boulder as it was low to the ground and sure enough BOOM! Ran right into sucker LOL. I was like what the heck. I couldn't see anything about the back window but when I got out it was way low to the ground but put a NICE big dent in my lovely PLASTIC bumper. Gotta love these new cars eh? Had it been an old metal one it probably would have done nothing LOL!

Then the lovely DIE incident at the school and numerous other door dings and scrapes from just rude people in parking lots. I swear people just DON'T care anymore. I always try to be observant of that stuff but I guess it is just a sign of the times???

Good luck on the quitting caffeine and smoking. That is going to be tough I know. I have not done caffeine in years but I know it can be hard. I don't smoke, drink or do any caffeine. Heck I think I should be mormon or something LOL. I do eat plenty of bad food though. That is the next thing I need to work on is EATING healtier. I try but it doesn't always work! ;) Dh just gave up smoking again but it is a constant battle. Good luck to your dh! I know how hard that is! Tell him to get sunflower seeds. Keeps the hands and mouth busy!! ;)

Have fun going in to the city!! That flower festival sounds like fun!

Well today is the first day of break from school anyway and here it is supposed to rain all week! BOOOO. I have to work today but was hoping on doing some fun stuff with the girls this week. Mom and I were even talking about maybe taking them to the city (SF) on Friday but I guess it all depends on the weather. NOT fun in the rain!

We shall see I guess. My girl scout leader e-mailed and we are getting together tonight at Big Spoon to celebrate end of cookie season so that should be fun.

That's bout it for me.

Hope everyone has a good day today! Take care and talk soon! :)

Very cute Sara! You did a great job!! :)

Thanks! I just bought a pattern to make cute little dog/cat beds. I want to try and make some and put them on etsy.com. I saw some at the local pet store in really cute prints selling for $75.00! I found the exact same pattern so I'm going to try a few and see how long they take and how much it costs to make.

It's the one one the bottom left.

PatternCraftS3906.jpg

How cute!! I love the little stairs with the paws!! What a great idea!! I so wish I was crafty but NOPE! :)

You will have to post pics when you make one! And good luck with selling them!

Hello,

Kelly- thank you for your kind comments. That trip to DL really helped and you are right, what I'm going through isn't easy. It helps to hear from others that I'm doing the right thing. I think I need to hear that once in a while because it really does help. I'm also trying to tell myself that.

Stacey-Thank you, that pixie dust from the CM really helped :goodvibes:

Sarah- That bag is cute and I can't wait to make that in the class :) I just paid for the classes over the weekend. One is a basic one and the other will teach me how to sew a pillow sham and tote bag.

Melody- it's good to see you. How are you? Do you still sew aprons? I think I saw them in Joann's yesterday and thought of you. :goodvibes:

Bernice- that sucks about your car and I hope that if you guys do give it up or keep it, that everything works out. :)

Alison- are you still at WDW? I hope you are taking lots of pics for us to see when you get back :yay:

Hi everone!!! I almost forgot that this thread was here. Got tons to catch up on I guess. How's everyone doing?
Hi!
Meet our dialysis god, he hungers for blood. Why? Because he is made out of blood.

shhh, he's actually a piece of gauze.
This was not a purposeful creation.

Eloy picked his scabs prior to placing his needles for treatment and wiped his steripick on this 2x2 gauze.

I pulled out his needles at the end of treatment, a little bit of blood trailed out from the needle.
I grabbed the closest gauze on his tray table , still a little damp from the antibacterial wash, swiped at the blood.

I glanced down and broke out laughing.

Dialysis God was born!

He know resides taped on the wall above the centrifuge.

He's enjoying the nightly feedings, until Eloy has a day off.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Yep.. I am totally bored.
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
:lmao: You goof!!
Hi Hyenas!!!

I have been MIA again. :guilty: I feel so bad. I have no idea what is happening in your lives. I will try and fix that. :thumbsup2

You all have a great weekend! :goodvibes
Yay for the baby!! The twins are big.. walking.. being horrid...:lmao:
Good morning all!

Did any of you happen to watch Jamie Oliver's show last night speaking about food? I think it's called Food Revolution? He is trying to change the eating habits in a town in WV. WOW! I think what he is doing is awesome and they were treating him pretty badly. I felt bad for him. I have NEVER wanted my kids to eat the school food because I remember from even back in the day when I went to school it was pretty bad! I remember they had a snack bar that sold sodas, candy bars etc and for lunch , esp in high school it was all burgers, fries, pizza, BLECH!

I make my girls lunch and try to have them eat healthy but of course they want the JUNK! I let them get school lunch ONCE in a great while as a treat but I refuse to let them eat it on a daily basis. Not only is it expensive but SO bad for you!

It was a pretty interesting show! :)
We watched it.. I even made my husband watch it with me, and he found it really interesting. He DOES NOT like watching that stuff with me. SO for him to like it... crazy!

I thought I had more quoted then that.:confused3

I have finished two of the girls dresses for WDW.. They turned out SUPER cute. I cant wait to take pictures of them!! I have two more half done.. I need to bust out some shots and tops for the fellas..

For my trying to be crafty ladies... Check out You can make this.com.. Its AWESOME. I have found a ton of stuff to make, and it is all really simple.

Just a quick post- I hope you are all doing well. :) I took another plain bag and sewed on some fringe and sewed on some Minnie Mouse appliques. Here is a pic:

I love that! I thought it used to pink though! Or did you make two? :rotfl2:
Hi Hyenas!!!

I have been MIA again. :guilty: I feel so bad. I have no idea what is happening in your lives. I will try and fix that. :thumbsup2

Tina, What is the latest in Scotland? Have you ever made it over to DLParis? princess:
I have been to DLP! It's pretty awesome. The food is amazing, the park is huge, the people are rude and the rides are scary. Really a great experience, it made want to go to the all the disney parks in the world though. That would be pretty cool to do.

Oh those are so cute! I want some and I don't have a pet. I wish I knew how to sew but I would probably never do it anyway. I'm like a jack of all trades, I can do a little of everything but master of nothing. So I'd learn how to sew buy a machine and never use it. I think it would be cool to make my own clothes though.:thumbsup2

It's nice to see chatty posts yet again. :goodvibes

I have a project in mind, need to sleuth the thrift store for a jar or something.
At Target they have really cheap solar lanterns/stakes, $2 off printable on Target.com brought down the price for $1. The pieces can all unscrew so it is just the top with the solar panel and the light underneath, looks like a hockey puck with an LED light sticking out.
For now I put it in a glass vase but it doesn't look that "nice", it makes kinda cool nightlight though in my bathroom.

I read on a DIY site of making your own "sunshine in a jar" .. the real ones costs several hundred dollars!

It is lined and has 2 pockets on the inside.

That is totally adorable. Makes me want to take up sewing again.

Hope everyone had a good Monday. Lots of stress at work today. I hate being in charge sometimes and not being able to pass a project on to a higher up. ACK! I will be happy once my data gets approved by the state.
