The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Morning everyone!

Bernice glad you and your dh had a nice day in the city yesterday! I can imagine that if you lived where it snowed and was so cold that ANY sign of spring must be a welcome sight!!

Rochelle again you are more than welcome and you are SO right. You know being with someone as long as you have is amazing. You know most marriages don't last that long in this day and age so this is a BIG deal to break up with someone after that long of a time. I was married to my 1st husband for only 8 years before I got divorced and I have only been with my current dh 11 so you STILL have me beat LOL. You are right it is TOTALLY a grieving period and it takes a LONG while to get someone out of your life that has been such a BIG part of your life for so long but you WILL do it I promise. You are doing everything right and beileve I know how VERY difficult it is but I am proud of you for keeping your head high and you are right DON'T let him sucker you in to taking him back or breaking down. I know it may be hard but you ARE doing the right thing. If he was dragging you down or making you feel bad about yourself you don't need that. There ARE people out there that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated. PROMISE!! :) And LOVE that bag. CUTE!!! ;)

Staley your girls are adorable and LOVE those dresses. I miss being able to dress my girls in stuff like that!

Hi Sara!! :)

Yesterday it started out all rainy and ugly so we just stayed in and watched movies and then the sun came out and it looked beautiful but we had already made up our mind but then it started HAILING of all things if you can believe that LOL. Absolutely poured hail and rain and then it stopped and the sun came out again LOL. WEIRD! But we had a nice relaxing day and now today we are off to get haircuts and run some errands.

It rained pretty hard most of the night and I am hoping it doesn't rain too much or at all while we are out. Then tomorrow I am prob going to take them to see how to train your dragon and Friday I have to run back in to work but then HOPEFULLY if the weather isn't too yucky we are going to try and have a day downtown.

So we shall see.

Have a GREAT day everyone and see you soon! :)

:lmao::lmao:FUN STUFF!! It does sound fun.. but if w tried to do all that in one trip... I would have some majorly crabby kids/husband... and ME!

Hi Kelly,

I know...13 years is a long time and I have been with him since I was 16 years old. When I find time, I have been writing things in a journal for me to keep. It helps to put my thoughts on paper and it helps me. I think reading back on things helps me remember and also keep in mind how he treated me. When he moved out last summer, I found old journals of mine in my garage. I had forgotten all the times where he would treat me like dirt, I would get frustrated and confused by his behavior, blamed myself and thought I had to change, and then afterwards, he would contact me again and say he was sorry, he missed me, etc.

It's always the same thing and that's exactly what happened when he moved out. He moved out and was like: "Ha! I can afford a place on my own!" and just acted like he didn't need me and would be happier without me. Next thing you know, he text messages me and asks if I'm home, is curious what I'm doing, etc.

I don't know what will happen in the future and what will happen this time but I really don't want him in my life. I was reading some articles and it helped me to see that I cannot blame myself for anything that has happened. I will never get answers to questions I have. I tried that last weekend and look how that turned out. :sad2: I even asked him if I have done anything where I have mistreated him in any way. He said: "No." Then I asked: "Then why are you so mean to me and treat me like crap?" He said: "I don't know."

I think the sewing class is going to be fun for me and will help. I like sewing things onto the bags I find in stores or bags I already have. It's really fun for me to see the end result and it makes me feel like I accomplished something, even though it's small.

I'm doing my best to hang in there. I think day by day it will get a little easier.

You are SO right Rochelle! Guys have a way of doing stuff like that. They make us feel vulnerable and doubt ourselves. And in general it seems that once we are on our own we get lonely and scared and all we can do sometimes is think about the "good" times and conveniently forget about all the bad stuff or the crap that they did or put us through. Just try to keep doing what your're doing. Read those journals and keep writing down your thoughts. I do the same thing!! It really helps to clear your mind and purge everything.

Keeping busy is SO important too. It keeps your mind off just thinking about it and being lonely and helps pass the time. Whatever you like to do is great. Doing your crafts or perhaps joining some type of club. I know when I got divorced I took a BUNCH of classes. I used to love to moutain bike and I joined a club and we used to go on different rides each week. I took a class on how to maintain my own bike through the learning exchange in Portland (where I used to live) and also one on how to fly fish and some other things I had always wanted to do but had never tried. Not only was I learning knew things but I was making new friends. :)

And you are SO right time well help heal all and that really truly is what it will take is time. And just try to be strong and don't let him wear you down. THAT is going to be the toughest part and BELIEVE me I know. Esp now when you are so vulnerable. I KNOW how hard it is and how EASY it might be to want to take him back even though a big part of you knows better. In life sometimes it is so easy to fall back into the familiar because it is just "easier". Stay strong and I am here for you if you ever want to talk as I am sure the others are as well! ((hugs)) and stay strong!!

I am back from my day! The girls got their hair cut as did I and mine could stand to be a bit shorter but it is better than it was but the girls both look REALLY cute! Then we tried to go get their swim stuff but it was another half hour before Big 5 opened so they wanted to go to the mall. So I took them and we stopped at Penneys, the Disney store and Children's place and I was able to pick them up a few things they needed and got some GREAT deals. Shelby got a coupon from Children's place for her birthday and Penneys had a 15% off coupon and they paid the sales tax so that was an awesome deal. Plus I let them each pick out a small toy at Disney store.

So we had a fun day.

Now tomorrow we are going to go see the dragon movie and hopefully FINALLY get their swim stuff!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Talk later!! :)

Good Morning Ladies! It is nice to see our new friends on the thread.:):):)

Going this morning to meet my friend that lives here. We met over 20 years ago in Seattle where we both worked. Somehow we've managed to stay in touch and get together every few years. Breakfast with her, then on to a small county waterpark. Hope the kids aren't disappointed, it certainly won't be a WDW waterpark...but maybe that is good in a way.

We had a blast at the beach yesterday. We didn't go during high tide, so the reef was exposed and it wasn't really good snorkeling. But Cooper did try it for a while and had fun. Seen a baby shark in the water...that was when I got out!:scared1::lmao:

Rochelle - hang in there!!!

Megan - cute dresses!!!

Morning ladies! Happy Thurs! Man this week is flying but it does NOT surprise me a bit. Vacation weeks always do and it's not even like we are doing a lot. Oh well I just hope the rest of the school year goes as fast so I can get to summer and sleeping in a bit and enjoying more time with the girls!

We have been having fun this week. Today we will attempt Big 5 again and off to get the mail (I have a PO Box so I only go a few times a week) and then I think today is shoe shopping. I do a big spring cleaning once a year and sort through all the clothes and shoes that no longer fit and poor shelby gets a lot of hand me downs from Katy so she is pretty good on clothes but Katy needed quite a few things clotheswise but BOTH of them are pretty hard on their shoes and although Katy seems to be ok in that area Shelby has grown out of her dress shoes and both her pairs of tennis shoes have holes in the soles. SOOO it looks like we are off to payless today!

I hope they have their buy one get one free deal!

Then it is off to see how to train your dragon. I hope it is as cute as it looks on tv! :)

I also hope the weather holds so we can do our fun day downtown tomorrow and then Sat is egg dying day and not sure what else we have on for the agenda. Possibly Clash of the Titans cuz "dad" wants to see that one and he is so jealous we are going to a movie without him ;)

And then I think our easter is going to be pretty laid back at mom's with just us and them. I just hope the weather isn't too crummy!

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope everyone has a good day and is enjoying what's left of their break. :)

Morning everyone!!

Megan! You have 10 days?? Wow, that is so cool!! :cool1: It's going to be here before you know it. :thumbsup2

Sam, I once went walking out on by the corral reefs in Hawaii in low tide, with baby sharks swimming in between too. That was when I was young and foolish! Sounds like you guys are having a blast!:dance3:

Pix, Keep strong girl!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Kelly, I keep wondering what all this "Dragon" stuff is? :confused3

Hi Sarah! :wave2:

Hi Stacie!

Hi Sara and Mel.

Lol Mel, it is a new Dream works movie called How to Train your Dragon. It is the same people that made Shrek. I can't believe you haven't seen any commercials for it on tv. Well if you go to McDonald's any time soon it is the latest thing in the happy meals too. Shelby had one yesterday and got one of the toys ;)

It looks really cute.

I will let you know how it is!! :)

Shows how much I watch TV. And if I am watching it, I'm on the food, travel, or home networks. Or watching a good ole movie. I do like NCIS though!

Rochelle - you are a strong beautiful woman!

Rochelle - hang in there!!!

Pix, Keep strong girl!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you all :grouphug: I really appreciate your kind comments and words of encouragement. I have the day off of work tomorrow and would like to try to take a trip somewhere. I might drive down to DL and then drive down to SD to my sister's place.

A good friend of mine had dinner with me last night at Joe's Crab Shack. This was her first time dining there and she loved the food. I was chatting with her and had a good time. She told me that she thinks I'm doing well and that I am better off without him.

It's really hard and if I start thinking about good times that I had from the past, I try to remember how the bad dramatically outweighs the good. He will never change, which is something I also have been telling myself. He is also childish and immature and is incapable of bringing me happiness.

This is hard and I hate going through this but I'm reallyyyy trying.

((hugs)) Rochelle! Like I said every day is a challenge but you will get throught it. Just keep doing what you are doing!! Keep busy and do stuff with your friends and try to remind yourself when you start doubting yourself of the bad. That's all you can do! And keep busy busy busy! That's the best thing!!

I am back from my day. It started out kind of crazy. I have been fighting an old doctor on a bill and I "thought" I had it resolved. He has been billing me for a year for something that was the insurances responsibility and I am SO tired of it. I have been going back and forth with the doc's office, the ins company and my union rep. It is SO ridiculous! Finally I filed a grievance with the ins company and got a certified letter saying it was taken care of and yet today I got yet ANOTHER bill from the doctor. I am SO disgusted and told them if they do not STOP this I am going to take them to court for harrassment! So then I had already left the house and had to go BACK home and get the letter and fax it to the doc's office and call the ins co AGAIN and tell them that they are STILL harrassing me. It kind of ruined my day! But anyway then the girls and I finally made it to Big 5 and they only had a few of the swim caps that the girls wear. They don't like the laytex but prefer ones that are like spandex. And they only had a few but luckily we found some. And then I was able to get shelby her goggles. Luckily Katy had some from last year that were still ok. They go through goggles and caps like crazy!!

Then we ran to the mall and got the shoes and had some lunch and I didn't feel like driving all the way to the theater to see the dragon movie and they have the dollar movies at the mall so we just saw the tooth fairy instead. It was pretty cute. A little silly but cute and the girls liked it.

Now tonight it is just survivor, flash forward and Fringe! Thurs is my fav night for TV. Next to Tues when I get to see Lost! Yes I know I have no life LOL. But I love me my tv shows ;)

Hope everyone had a good day and talk to you tomorrow!!

Kaylee is a beast isnt she? She has lost her bottom two front teeth already... She is only FOUR!! Makes me scared when she is going to get b00bies!!:lmao::lmao:

:lmao:

My goodness she is a tall one, she will be towering over all the Kindergartners in the fall. No one is going to mess with her!

Cute dresses for your cute girls :goodvibes

TV? What's that?

We stopped cable TV a few months ago, even with a powered antennae and converter box we get nothing for local TV. (yeah, great advancement in technology to go all digital-- NOT!)

We have DSL internet, fast enough to handle instant streaming on Netflix and still support everyone's hunger of electronics at the same time. We each have an Itouch, Eloy uses his a lot while dialzing. Plus 2 desk top and one laptop computer .. and XBOX 360 and Wii... we are all wired into the world without the expense of Comcast cable. :thumbsup2

I miss some shows, I like reality TV programs -- awful huh? Lately I have been watching lots of really good documentaries, foreign and independent films. Things I never would have watched on TV.

--------------------------
Eloy and I got our pedicures done today. It was at the Aveda Institute, done by students. I don't let them do my hair, not that I'm picky but they take forever to do anything and have read reviews from lots of people that got totally messed up. But figured nails.. not a problem since I have never had them done before anyway.
