The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

She already told him that she can't leave her mom becasue her mom needs help with the little ones. DD pretty much raised her younger siblings, even back when she was 8 she was the one talikng care of them and she always seemed to care more about them than her self. Anytime she got money from a family member she would not spend it on candy or toys but she would say she had to give it to her mom to help buy stuff for her siblings.

That's so sad, dn was in the same situation. He felt he had to stay to protect his step siblings. :sad1:

Oh.. and the apartment manager is being super nice. All we have to pay is our rent for our apartment now. We dont have to pay for the new apartment until next month! That is a $300 savings!:cool1:

Awesome!!

I would totally let your friend help with the moving and not feel guilty, he might need to help someone to feel like life is "normal" kwim? People tend to distance themselves when a family member is sick.. or premie babies in the NICU... or other chronic issues. I guess because they feel awkward and maybe that panicked thought of "it happened to them, what if..."
It's silly, sad and unreasonable.. but people are human and crazy thoughts tend to come forth easier than the logical ones.

He was like... you guys have done so much for us! I owe you. . I dont want him to feel like he owes us! But if he wants to help, I am more then willing to let him!:lmao:

My plan to sit and lounge at home to rest today.... totally didn't happen.

I took a long walk with sis at our closest mall, bought a 3/4 sleeve shirt for less than $7.:woohoo:

JcPenney's has TONS of clearance right now, not marked correctly - scanned and it was much cheaper than marked.

I was a little achy when I started, fine while walking, now I'm tired and sore. Darn snowstorm! Blah!

At least it's not a far away move. ;)

We once had to move one floor up, renovation of all the apartments. The good thing is we didn't have to do any cleaning as they were tearing out parts of the kitchen, replacing bathroom vanity plus all the flooring. :thumbsup2

I know, huh! We dont even have to get a truck.. Just fold down the seats in the van for the big stuff.. The little stuff we can just carry across. Its about.. I dont know.. across the complex, which is really small.

She did tell me to try to leave the apartment as clean as possible. AS IF! We have lived here for years. The place is a HOLE!:lmao:

The best investment we ever made was buying our own hand truck/dolly, cost just as much as renting one from Uhaul. It's been used with each of our moves and gets loaned out anytime family moves or buys new heavy furniture, etc.

Makes it a breeze to haul stuff around, including hauling Eloy's machine up/down the stairs when it's in the air carrier box (about 100 pounds).

We've got the turn over cleaning down... it peeves me how much time and effort we put in to clean the pace we leave, but the next place we move in didn't bother to do the same for us. Both times we moved here I had to leave everything in boxes, wipe out all the cabinets and closets, scrub out the fridge (food and mold left behind ewww) and scour the floors before we cold unpack. Our apt caretaker is LAZY, nice enough guy but truly only does the minimal in cleaning. I can understand why, he works another job full time. Not sure why but his wife rarely helps??:confused3

It is sad, and we know that her mom makes her feel bad for wanting to do anything for her self. Even back when she was 8 that's the way it was so I can imagine how it is now. Her mom even has her on independent study so she can be home to take care of the kids. :sad2: It's not right but I guess we will see what we can do and what happens.

I wish I could come with you guys. Maybe next time around! Have a great time, can't wait to see the pictures.

My cell phone had a bunch of technical problems. :headache: Just received a replacement today. I was able to restore my old files. However, I am missing one app that I paid for :( I e-mailed the company's tech support to try to see if I can get it back for free.

I can't wait until Friday!! I'm really excited!! I miss you guys and am looking forward to partying at the House of Mouse...hyena style!

I deserve a medal or something. I just talked my mom through booking her WDW vaca. It was like trying to teach a monkey to drive. Heck... I think monkeys catch on faster! She had some sort of melt down talking to the lady from WDW, and didnt understand what she was trying to say.. Then the lady was trying to upsell her.. It was ugly! I told my mom that next time, she just needs to hang up, and I will take care of it! I swear, my mom is an intelligent woman. She isnt handicapped in anyway. But she sure does act like she rides the short bus!:lmao:

But now she is booked, I talked her through it.. she is happy.. I am happy.. Happy thats over!:lmao::lmao: I need a drink!
