:lmao::lmao::lmao:Careful who you tell that too!;):rotfl2:

Good morning!

We had an interesting weekend. Back in 2004 DBF went though a huge ordeal with his daughter's mom (DD was 8 at the time). His Ex basiclly she said a whole bunch of really, really bad things and said that DD didn't want to see us and the courts were involved and DBF decided it was too much to put DD through so he pretty much had to let her go even though it hurt him so much.

We hadn't seen or talked to DD in 5 years, didn't know where she was or how she was doing. Well last week DBF see's a missed call on the caller ID with his EX's name so he has his sister call it and it's DD's cell phone. So she starts texting her and DD asks for DBF's cell phone and they start texting. DD and DBF were texting all weekend, making up for the past 5 years. And I mean ALL weekend, all day and all night! I don't think he slept all weekend.

Pretty much DBF's ex told DD that he didn't want to see her but DBF told her that wasn't true, so he is going to go see a lawyer today and see what he can do to get visitation back. I haven't seen DFBF this happy since DD lived with us. These past 5 years have been really hard, especially the holidays.

We always knew she would come looking for her dad but we thought maybe not until she was 16 or 17 and she's only 13 1/2 right now. I guess things are not good with her mom and she's finally realizing that her mom lied to her all these years.

That's awesome!
I believe my DN was about that age when he realized living with his mom was not worth it anymore. His mom was finally okay with letting him go and live with his dad (my brother), dn feels the move was the beginning of his life and helped him become a better person (now 21).

It's sad to lose all those years in between, but reaching out and being part of her life now will make all the difference. I hope the legal process goes smoothly.

So we get the keys to our apartment on Friday.. Guess what?? I wont BE HERE on Friday. I knew this would happen. Now what? I guess we do what we can in packing and cleaning, and see if my hubby can get someone over here to help him move the furniture this weekend.

The last time you said something like that I got into all sorts of trouble! So I going on the record right now as saying "NO!!!!! YOU CAN'T LET YOUR SMALL CHILD GO TO DISNEYLAND BY HIMSELF AND I WILL PERSONALLY CALL CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES MYSELF OR ALERT THE DIS MEMBERS WHO WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE!!!":rotfl2:

Why do vacations never seem to fall at a good time. I'm right in the middle of so many important projects, as well as year end stuff. Oh well!!

So I just sent an email to one of my contacts at Fess Parker Winery to see if we can manage to get into Club 33. It's a long shot, but I figured it was worth a try.

If, and that's a big IF we can get in...it will be my treat. My boss just gave me a little bonus to help make my trip more enjoyable.

How freaking cool would that be?

Oh.. and the apartment manager is being super nice. All we have to pay is our rent for our apartment now. We dont have to pay for the new apartment until next month! That is a $300 savings!:cool1:

:cool1::cool1::cool1:WOW!! I love your boss.. does he need a kid? You know.. an almost 30yo kid with 4 kids of her own??:lmao::lmao::lmao:

It would be so cool...but I'm trying not to get my hopes up...it's a long shot at best.

I hate using "contacts" to get stuff like that, I rarely ever do that. Just because I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of those requests. But I guess I just want to go bad enough that I decided to ask just this once.

That's awesome! Makes it worth the effort to move. Well, not that being able to spread out a bit more doesn't make it worth the effort, but you kwim.

No, he's already got a couple of 30-something yo kids, with 2 grandkids. But I'll put your name on the list.:lmao:

Thanks! She was telling DBF how sad she gets when she has to go with her younger siblings (4 of them) to see their dad on the weekends. I don't expect her to move in with us any time soon but just for DBF to be able to spend the day with her would be great!

She already told him that she can't leave her mom becasue her mom needs help with the little ones. DD pretty much raised her younger siblings, even back when she was 8 she was the one talikng care of them and she always seemed to care more about them than her self. Anytime she got money from a family member she would not spend it on candy or toys but she would say she had to give it to her mom to help buy stuff for her siblings.

That is WONDERFUL!!!!:cool1::cool1:

Yep, DBF is very happy!

Awesome! You're about to become a Mom!:thumbsup2:laughing:

You know that saying printed on mirrors "objects in mirror may be closer than they appear"

I'm riding your bumper, it's darn close!

I leave in the morning. :lmao:
