The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Here's an authentic Ark-Mex recipe for you B.:lmao:

Grannie Arkansas's Mexican Chicken.

1 whole chicken boiled & deboned or 3 chicken breasts boiled & shredded.
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cans Rotel tomatoes w/chilis
2-3 cups grated cheese
1 bag Doritos

Mix soup & Rotel together in bowl. Layer chips (slightly crunched up), chicken, soup mixture & cheese. Two layers in baking pan. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until bubbly throughouts.

Haven't found anybody that doesn't like this recipe, teenagers especially seem to like it.:thumbsup2

What's not to like? You have the basic teenager food groups.. cheese and doritos :lmao:

My creation was the gourmet version of yours, it was good. :upsidedow

Justin ate seconds, Eloy ate more than he should and Noah spent a good 20 minutes picking out all the peppers and onions. :rotfl2:

Really?
Well we did have the "moonsoons of October" as Justin's band teacher said in closing ceremony for marching band. We had more rain (and snow) in September and October then we do now. Usually by Thanksgiving we have a couple inches of snow cover, we got nothing, it's drizzly and foggy instead. I can live with that kind of weather for the entire winter :yay: though our travel economy would really suck.

I was going to offer to send you one of the pumpkins still sitting on my front porch. We never did get around to carving them, the weather is cool, so they are still nice. :lmao:

I looked up the news articles earlier.. at least the extra rain is better for the cranberry harvest. :lmao:

I'm planning my day, it's a baking/ cleaning/ wait for a delivery/ wait for Eloy to be done kinda day. Eloy works a half day today, he had to arrange for someone to take his class for his last hour. The other teachers told us this is the first time in 16 years that his district has students in session the day before Thanksgiving. He wise cracked to the students "you didn't hear it from me, but taking a sick day tomorrow is just fine. You won't miss anything. " :lmao:

I was at the store yesterday.. and there was TONS of pumpkin on the shelves. But our pie came with our dinner. So I dont need to make anything! I was thinking about making pumpkin bread though.

I only have time to whine right now. I could seriously pull my hair out.

My friend wanted me to take her for a massage for her birthday. Fine. Only problem her brother visited her the whole month of October (when her birthday was) so we made plans to get the massage this month.

This month she's busy, busy busy. Finally she rearranges stuff so we can get our massages on Friday. I get a phone call from the spa and they screwed up and booked me with someone who doesn't know how to do massage, so we have to reschedule! UGH! FINE!

So I told my friend she needs to pick a different date.
She wants me to pick a different date.
I say next thursday, she says she busy.
So I said "You need to pick a day because you're the one who is always doing other stuff, I'm free for whenever."
friend: "Oh, well maybe we'll do a different treatment but for the same day."
me: "Okay, what treatment do you want?"
friend: "I don't know, you pick."
me: "No, its for your birthday, you pick."
friend: "I don't want to."
me: "K, how about we get normal massages instead of the hot stone?"
friend: "I don't know"
AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I think I'm going to buy her a certificate and she can go by herself.

do they taste like pumpkins pies?

A little. They are more cake like then cookie like. A lot more light and fluffy and moist due to the applesauce. I just used pumpkin pie spice insted of all the individual spices and I used chunky apple sause and the came out really good. I've made them a few times for work of to give to people and everyone loves them.

These pumpkin cookies are so easy to make and they taste so good!

mm, looks good!
I love All Recipes, easy to find new recipes to try and read other people's reviews to tweak as needed.

I used my precious Libby's for my usual pumpkin custard (low fat/low calorie - egg whites, skim milk , no added fat) and then went the other direction with the calorie and fat filled Pumpkin Muffins using the Disneyland recipe posted on the board. They came out ultra moist and really really good, still need powdered sugar for the frosting. :thumbsup2

But now I'm wondering how to transport these little gems to my parents, the muffins are kinda squishy. Maybe we will swing by Walmart for a carrier, wanted one anyways.. for frosted cakes we do the ever so creative straws and toothpicks to tent the syran wrap. :lmao:

I bought my plane tickets :yay:
I transferred miles from Eloy's account as the award ticket "prices" where going up as it gets closer to the dates. For $45 total I have a ticket to get to my happy place again! :goodvibes

AND
Because I am an odd duck and want to get the most bang for my tiny bit of bucks...

I will be arriving on Tuesday morning. :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo:

Yep that makes two days solo (until Alison arrives Wednesday evening).
I will find an ultra cheap hotel for Tuesday night, I've read that the Anaheim Plaza goes for $45 a night or whatever is cheap without being too icky. :rotfl: I was going to push for Monday arrival, then I realized that was true overkill. :upsidedow

Hi guys,

I am at Disneyland! I woke up early and got a blu ray player from Fry's around 5am and am awake. I decided to come to DL. I will bug Albert later if I am still in the park later. Lol. I took a pic with Alice and the Mad Hatter. :)

We survived the hordes of Walmart shoppers this morning to get coats for my guys for $15 each. Since we weren't getting anything particularly "hot" we strolled in 10 minutes before 5 am.. no mad crowds at the door because they already were in the store circling like vultures around the wrapped pallets of door buster items.

There were a few gentlemen waiting for the coats too, they had heavy accents and they asked if the coats were heavy enough for the cold winter.. :) We told them it should be plenty warm, we had been in the night before for the boys to pick colors and try on to find the right sizes. No fighting necessary, we grabbed our three coats and decided to check out the $2 movie mayhem... quickly regretted entering that mess of people, carts and craziness... retreated, passed thru men's clothing again.

Found fleece full zip jackets for $7 on one side of the display, tried some on and contemplated if I wanted one for myself. Hoodies for $7 on the other side.. spied a larger sized one with superman logo that looked cool, Eloy started drooling. :lmao: Picked up two of the superman and one of the joker (the scary one from the most recent movie).

I wanted to check women's to see if they had anything good, spied a display of the same fleece as the men's but in cute girly colors.:goodvibes Ditched the black men's fleece and snapped up a red plaid that matches my winter coat (layering is vitally important in frozen land).

Proceeded to checkouts, chaos!!!! Nearly got nailed in the face by a large picture frame in a lady's cart.. she kept swiveling here and there, not paying attention that the frame was leaning out .. geeze lady can you watch it???!

We ended up among the TV feeding frenzy in the middle of the central aisle, crap.. retreat!!! :scared:

Got in line, way back in ladies clothes.
No worries.

Watching people buy big $900 TVs and mounds of other expensive gadgetry in their carts. We congratulated ourselves on buying only what we needed instead of giving into our wants.

$80
3 winter coats
3 hoodies
2 fleece jackets

Happy and warm, went home to go back to sleep. :cloud9:

Good afternoon Hyenas! Just arrived home from the inlaws, DD has left to go shopping with friends, DS & DH are headed into town for a sale at a motorcycle shop. I will be wisely spending the afternoon at home, enjoying a bubble bath and then reading a book whilst laying in front of a nice warm fire.
