Tig my responses are in purple...of course.

Something else that's weird now tho...we take roughly the same route to work. He's been behind me maybe 3 out of the 5 days I come here. Yesterday, I got here 20 minutes early because there was no traffic and he got here the same time as me. Really strange. This never used to happen. I always joked if he fixed my car, he'd put a tracking device on it. I'm beginning to wonder if this is true haha.

:scared: :scared: :scared:

OK, that's really weird and a little scary. Keep a close eye on him.

Wait, wait I think I missed this!

Honu got approved for her surgery. :cheer2: She'll be heading to Houston in mid-March. :thumbsup2

So I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. I was so disappointed, it was awful. They basically kept all the character's names and the names for the companies but changed the story around completely. It was all over the place and it wasn't nearly as good as the book. They Amercanized everyone except Luke Brandon; the books are primarily set in London. All the cute plot lines in the book were reduced to small jokes throughout the movie. And the whole mannequins talking thing. WTH was that all about? I didn't like it at all. I was so looking forward to it too. :headache: I wish they could've done it proud, like The Devil Wears Prada because I really LOVE these books. I think it tanked at the box office too...

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the movie. :guilty: I hate it when they change the story line so much that it ends up being so different from the book. *sigh*

Hi Tig! You always show up when I have to leave work!!

I don't want to keep any eye on him to be honest. :scared:

I was hoping they'd do it justice but no...:sad2:

I hear you!! ::yes::

Hi, Jenny!! What's up? How was your day?

My day has been annoying. I've been on the phone with Disney for most of it. As much as I love Disney...their reservation agents have no idea what's going on. I got 3 different answers on the same question today. I have a client who's final payment is due TOMORROW and I haven't heard from them yet. I've called them multiple times and left messages and I sent them a letter today because I was able to get the due date extended. So hopefully I hear SOMETHING soon.

Plus my hockey team SA-UCKS!!! I could rant about them for hours but I won't go into here.

How was your day?

Fill me in. I have to go now. I'll see you tomorrow!
:wave2:

Ugh, that's annoying. Well, I hope that that client gets back to you soon.

Sorry to hear about the hockey team. :guilty:

I had a good and very busy day. I'm making some Korean food for dinner. I decided to try some new recipes, so I'm really anxious to see how they turn out. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! If they turn out good, I'll post the recipes.

Too bad you have to go already. :guilty: Well, I hope that you have a good rest of the day. Talk to ya tomorrow. :wave2:

Hey Unicorns!
Just stopped in to let you know that my daughter got a bit worse and I ended up in the ER with her this morning. She has a UTI and is doing better, but not after vomiting all night, IV's, cat scans and bloodwork! :( She is resting and will be out of school for two days, so I won't be around much. Sorry and be back when I can!

:grouphug:
Oh no!!!!!! I'll be keeping you and your DD in my thoughts and prayers.
Hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me

Where is everyone today??
I spent my day at DHS. Got very annoyed at Starring Rolls- I didn't eat there. They were out of all the chocolate chip muffins, danish, and cinnamon rolls- me and two other people wanted the muffins. We were practically begging the CMs to bring us three muffins and they refused. I left and went to Writer's Stop over by Sci-Fi and they had my muffin- so I was happy. Rode Rock 'N Roller Coaster 6 times, did Great Movie Ride, and ate at 50s Prime Time Cafe (yes, Honu, I got the winner winner chicken dinner!!!!). So a good day....

:welcome: New Unicorns!! :grouphug:

Tigger: those pictures were so funny!! :lmao:

Jenny: UGH! I'm so upset Confessions was disappointing.. I probably will not be going to see that. I do want to go to the movies this weekend though!

Okay.. I'm coming over to the State of Confusion for some Korean food and a little Tigger time!!! I hope they turn out good.

I hope everyone had a nice day. Mine was okay. I all of a sudden got swamped with work and now feel a little stressed out but with lots of planning and maybe a little less DISing (oh the horror!! :guilty: :sad2: :headache: ) I should survive! :thumbsup2 Other than that, today I tried to make weekend plans with my mom and DFiance. My mom's BFF is coming into town this weekend and of course, DFiance and I are expected to go visit and be all happy and fantastic (not that we aren't  but still..:rolleyes1 ). Soo, I think we'll go see them a little on Saturday, then I want to go see Friday the 13th! Has anyone seen it yet?! I love love love those movies, they are so ridiculous and repetitive but, goodness, they are fantastic!!

Well, I'm off to do some work but I just wanted to stop by and say hey! Hopefully chat more tomorrow! :grouphug:

TIGG-Y!! I'm HOOOOMMMEEE!

Let's get chattin'!

:rotfl:

Sorry! You know, I think we all need to start DISing in shifts. I'll volunteer to be on the late afternoon and evening shifts. Maybe we should have a Unicorn meeting about this. :rotfl:

Oh, hello Ricky!! :rotfl: OK, I'm ready to get my chat on. I had a good day today. Nothing really special to tell you except for the fact that I tried some new Korean recipes. OH! I never told you about my Sunday "adventure". I will do that in my next post. I need to go look for some pictures. You know how I like to illustrate my stories! :rotfl:

So Rora, how was WDW?? :teeth:
Absolutely fantastic!! We went to EPCOT, Le Cellier and had tons of fun with the Kim Possible attraction. The only thing I was a little bummed about was our seats for the fireworks.

Tell me about the CP!
:rotfl:

:rotfl: Uhh.. I need to know about this Sunday adventure, it sounds pretty exciting. Yes, yes, we love illustrations!!

I'm so ready for the weekend, and it's only Tuesday! I think we need to start having TGIF parties, :lmao:

Tigger and I were talking about the Greek letters for U and C (you know.. Unicorn Club.. :rotfl: )..

Well, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that it's

Upsilon Chi.. which would be a lowercase u OR an uppercase Y and then an x for the c.

Just sharing. We're sorority Unicorns now! No pledging necessary, just cake and hot men. :lmao:

OK, this wasn't exceptionally exciting, but it was still a lot of fun.

On Sunday, my family and I visited a popular Korean store called H Mart. We had heard about that place from a friend and we were eager to check it out. We're not Korean, but we do love Korean food.

When we got there, we got a little distracted by the bakery, which was conveniently located near the entrance. ;) The bakery items looked soooo good! You should have seen those cakes! I wish I could have found a picture of them. Anyway, we decided to go to the little food court to try some of their food. I decided to have my favorite Korean dish, bulgogi. It's a dish made with thinly-sliced beef. I was expecting it to be served on a styrofoam plate or something. Instead I got this thing on a tray.

akoreanstonepot.jpg

OK, just imagine that the bowl is full of meat and vegetables. The pot was smoking hot and the beef and vegetables were raw! Nobody told me that I was going to have to cook my own food!!! Anyway, I quickly went to my seat and started to stir my food. Sadly, the bottom got a little burned, but it was still OK. Everyone in my family was cracking up. The people who were passing by seemed very interested in my stir-frying efforts. :lmao: That was definitely a weird and fun experience. The bulgogi was really good, but it was kind of expensive. I had to pay extra for a side of rice, too!! What nerve!! They make me cook my food, but they won't give me any rice??? *sigh*

To be continued in the next post........... (sorry for keeping you waiting so long)

Stop having a boring tuna, stop having a boring life!

You truly are a Unicorn at heart.. what UC girl isn't distracted by the bakery?! :lovestruc :lmao:

:rotfl: I can just picture passerbys looking quite interested in the crazy girl makin' some Korean stir fry! Too funny.. Wow.. extra for a side of rice and you have to cook your food? This sounds like a crime. But hey- at least it was really good!!

To be continued in the next post........... (sorry for keep you waiting so long)
Woohoo! Can't wait!

It must have been a comical sight. It was probably very obvious that I was a stir-frying rookie. :rotfl2: Seriously, you should have seen the smoke coming up from that cooking stone!! It was kinda scary! :rotfl:

OK, let us continue...........

After we ate, we walked around the store. They had an amazing produce section. Most of the prices were really great and the produce looked really good. Their butternut squash looked really good and was so cheap! I just had to buy one. I have no idea how I'm going to cook it, though. I was definitely on a "shopper's high" when I bought that thing. No one in my family eats butternut squash. :lmao: I got a few other things that I actually needed before we headed off to the meat section. As we were leaving the produce section, we noticed several huge bags of peeled garlic. Who eats that much????

copy1peeled%200bag.jpg

When we got to the meat section, I bought a some bulgogi meat so that I could try to make it at home. They had your ordinary cuts of meat, but there were also some really interesting items in their meat section. Frozen whole octopus was one of them. Don't worry, I won't be posting any pictures of that. :rotfl:

We went around the store and saw lots of other cool food items. I found many of the Asian snacks that I used to love as a kid. After we paid for everything, we went straight to the bakery. :woohoo: I bought two cute little cream puffs and a pumpkin bun. The cream puffs were Ok, but the pumpkin bun was AWESOME!!!! You'd think it'd be the other way around, wouldn't you? :rotfl: They had a lot of really yummy-looking bakery items, but I decided to try them on the next trip. All in all, we had a great time in that store. I'm so glad that our friend told us about this place. Can't wait to go back!!! (I probably won't be getting the bulgogi, though. ;))

OK, I can't believe that I just made our trip to a store into a mini trip report. How sad!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Woohoo!! Upsilon Xi in the da house!!! :cool1: Upsilon Xi........that doesn't sound very nice, does it? Hmmmm.....I think we need to have a nickname. :scratchin How about the Xi Girls? :lmao:

Just sharing. We're sorority Unicorns now! No pledging necessary, just cake and hot men. :lmao:

:rotfl: :lmao:

I love that last line!! That would be a great title for a thread! I'm concerned about one thing, though. Will we still be needy and sexy? I hope so! :rotfl:

Here's the recipe that I used for the bulgogi. You may need to double or triple the marinade recipe to make sure that you have enough.

Beef Bulgogi

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 tsp. toasted sesame oil

1 tsp. sesame seeds

1 green onion, thinly sliced

1 clove of garlic, crushed (I decided to grate the garlic.)

1 tsp. sugar (You may want to add a little more if you like it sweeter.)

2-3 lbs. beef (preferably ribeye), thinly sliced

- Combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, green onion, garlic, and sugar in a bowl.

-Place the sliced beef in a bowl or baking dish. Pour the marinade over the beef and toss to coat. Cover the dish and refrigerate it for about two hours. (I let it sit for a bit longer).

-Grill or pan fry over high heat on both sides until it is cooked through. If you decide to pan fry it, add a tablespoon or two of neutral-flavored cooking oil to the pan first.
