The Trip That Almost Wasn't - December '09 (We are BACK!!!! TR to start soon)

Exactly FIVE months until our trip to WDW!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

And today we decided to add Water Fun & More to our MYW tickets. We have never (yes, I said never) been to either of the disney water parks so I'm pretty excited about this!! We were going to go on last years trip but it was a trip we were trying to cut costs on so that was one of the things that got cut. But it won't be cut this year! Anything anyone can tell me about the water parks? For sure going to need tips here!

:yay: For water parks! I guess... I've never been either! :rotfl:

:rotfl: well you're no help on planning then are ya? j/k! You think you'll ever check them out now that you'll be living closer to Disney? We've never wanted to stray from the parks but since we go so often now we feel better about going and doing other things. It will be nice to do something different while we're down there

Aren't you supposed to tell me I'm not fat and try to convince me to post pictures of myself!? j/k (I'm in a sarcastic mood tonight)

I think that is a BRILLIANT idea and I just may have to do that. *does her best evil laugh while rubbing hands together* :thumbsup2

Carla! You are NOT fat!!! I can't wait to see your trim and lovely self in a swimsuit!

:teeth:

:rotfl: girl I was so J/K I promise. But thanks. If I get that swim suite I want I'm sure I think I'll be ok in pictures.....but it's all a matter of finding the right suite. Just glad I can catch the off season sale since we're not going until December. :thumbsup2

You'll be fine!!!

Heck you could probably get an off season sale right now the way they put stuff in the stores these days. Another month they'll be breaking out the Halloween costumes!

oh you are SO right there girl! It's crazy how soon they starts putting stuff in stores any more. Most of the time they skip over halloween and thanksgiving both and go straight to Christmas. *sigh*

Yes!!!! :yay:

I can tell you this, Blizzard beach felt like much more walking than typhoon lagoon. However, BB does have the ski lift to get you up to a certain point so you bypass a lot of the stairs. BUT there's also a line for that. And once you go down a slide, you gotta go back up to get to the other slides, naturally. They have the tallest slide in the world there (at least since I last checked). It goes straight down!

The awesome thing about TL is the Crush N Gusher. It's a coaster slide! And SO MUCH FUN! Also you can snorkle through this little pond sized thing with sharks, fish, stingrays (they are all toward the bottom) and that was really neat. But it was REALLY COLD -- they said they have to keep it that way for the sea creatures.

I'm just not sure how it will be in Nov/December. I hope it will not be too cool.

If you have any specific questions about the water parks, I'm an open book.

Eh, personally I'm not into the water parks at all. But the kids like them, so I usually get the waterpark fun add on. I would be content to just go around and around in the lazy river all day. Those slides are hell on my back though.

Holy crap! Are you my mother in law?

What is the bomb thing? And what the hell? Complain about your size when you get really fat, like me.:lmao:

HEY!! I'm the only person who takes the damn pictures.:lmao:

Now you are under 5 months :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I vote for Typhoon Lagoon.

More relaxing there. You can snorkel with fish and other creature.

There is still crush and gusher which looks so fun :woohoo:

I'm not sure how Chris is going to like the sky bucket thing to get to the slides at Blizzard but we'll see. Typhoon might be the way we go. I'd like to go to both but Becca and James will be with us on this day. If James comes (which at this point he's undecided) then if we go to both parks they'll have to pay for him to get in both. Becca gets in for free so if only she goes then we can check out both. Guess we'll see when the time comes. Thanks for the info and I'll probably ask you more questions as our trip gets closer.

love lazy rivers. I think I'll be taking advantage of that while we're there

It's ebonics.....fo' shizzle! :lmao:

hey girl, same here. I hate having to ask "can you take my picture?" just so I can be in some.

Yeah I'm sure we'll go there first and see how it goes.

okay uhh...so should I say I hope James doesn't go? :confused3 :rolleyes1

:lmao: I'm a little bit hoping this myself. On one hand I want him to go because he probably won't ride many of the slides but me and Becca will. So on the slides Chris doesn't want to do James can wait around with Chris. But on the other hand if he does go (like I said earlier) then we will only be able to try one of the water parks. I guess one is better than none :confused3

by the way, you don't HAVE to use the ski lift at BB to get up to the slides. You can huff it up the stairs. Usually we'll take the ski lift once, and use the stairs the rest of the time. Of course, the last time I went to BB was also in JULY(and times before that were in the summer too) when the lines were long--including the line for the ski lift. So that was why we didn't take the lift again.

True true. Yeah, I know it will be cooler than the summer months and I'm thinking less crowded too.

Now I am debating btwn the water parks vs. a Disney tour of some sort (i.e. the segway tour or something along those lines). Which would you prefer to do if it was your vacation?

I'd say the water parks because you haven't been and they are really great. But it's just the outdoor temperature that concerns me.

Is there a way to look up any historical weather conditions for Florida around your dates?
