This is my first trip report, so bear with me. Here goes.....

This was our trip of a million screams. Some silent screams, some loud screams. Screams of annoyance, screams of fun, screams of frustration, screams of joy.

When I say screams of annoyance, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. After all, a bad day at Disney is better than any good day at work.

Also, keep in mind that I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. So much of the screams are due to them.

My first screams came before I even started packing. We were leaving Wednesday morning and I decided Sunday night that I wanted to buy some new crocs – in the sandal style. Monday, at lunch, I went to a store and they were completely out of my size. (Agggghhhhh!) Tuesday, while at work, I called a couple of stores to see what they had. At lunch, I drove around looking for the first store and ended up getting a pedicure instead. Between the pedicure and driving, I took a 2 hour lunch. But hey – that’s like I got the pedicure free because I was getting paid while I was there.:yay:

I left work at about 4:30 and stopped at a Hallmark store. They did not have my size. I then stopped at another store and they had my size in the Cleo style, but not the color I wanted. But my feet looked so pretty after that pedicure; I had to get a pair. I settled on the white, with the green sole. Close enough to our lime green. Besides, it was either that or hot pink, with the orange sole and the white would match more. My purchase time was 5:44.

I got home and we ate a quick meal and then finished packing. Everyone was already packed, except me. I put on my new shoes to show my husband and left them on as I packed, so I could try them out. What do you know – they break. The side strap popped off. It was 6:58. I called the store to see how late they were open and they close at 7:00, so no time to switch them out. Then I decided if they break that easily, maybe I don’t want them.
Note: when I returned them after the trip, the lady told me these do break occasionally, but not that often. She said the company always sends them extra pieces (it was the black croc symbol round thing that broke) so they can fix these when it happens. They were out of them. So in my opinion it must happen more than occasionally since they were out of those extra pieces.

I finished packing, took a walk, put together some more LGMHs, then went to bed.

Jumping on!popcorn:: Don't forget lots of pictures!! Can't wait to hear about your trip! I heard there was a croc meet:woohoo: jen

Okay...Miz Diz! I'm on!!!!!!! Waiting for more! (Doesn't it stink that you had to start out with a broken shoe?)

Okay, a fellow Limey in on the TR action!! Can't wait to read more!

My DW bought me the Disney Crocs with little mickey shaped holes in the top of the shoe. Mine are black with a red strap. She has a pair like mine and also a pair of red with a black strap. My DS (8) has a pair of blue ones. Those things are awesome! I would encourage any Disney fan to get a pair!

I was just glad the shoe broke at home and not while I was walking around the parks. I ended up wearing my Mickey crocs most of the time. I did wear a pair of Clark Sandals twice.

I'll add more in a little bit. I'm in between interviews at work.

Add me to the list of fellow LIME supporters!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your shoe, that really sucks! :sad2:

So we get up Wed morning at 5:30. yes that is AM.

I believe it is a crime to wake up before 8:00; however, work forces me to get up earlier than that. When the alarm clock goes off, I usually have to lay in bed for about 20 minutes before I can function. I'm supposed to be at work at 7:30, but frequently show up at 7:45, or closer to 8. And don't even talk to me in the morning - at least not before 10am. :offtopic:

But this is the day we go to Disney, so I am right out of bed. My DH can't believe it. But I know we need to get out of the house by 6:00 to beat all the Atlanta traffic.

After we load the car, I wake the kids. Here are some more screams. So, I leave them in their jammies, strap them in, and we take off at 6:30. This is pretty darn good for us. We head down 400 and have gone approximately 10 miles when DD2, starts with "ba, ba, ba"
ME: What's she saying?
DD2: I want ba, ba, ba
Me: What?
DH: I don't have that song baby. It's in the other car.
DD2: BA, BA, BA!!!!!!!!!!!
ME: She wants to hear "Bye, Bye, Bye?" (NSync)
DD2 screaming now: BA, BA, BA!!!!!!

Let me explain. DS6 discovered this old CD and DH plays it for the kids every time they are in his car. They both love it - that and Gwyn Stefani's "Wind it Up." So every morning he plays those 2 songs for DD2 on the way to daycare.

So I try to console DD2 and explain we don't have that song. Please quit asking. Let's find something else.

DS6 is spelling B-R-A-T & DD2 finally cries herself to sleep. Then DS6 is already asking for a movie to be put on. Anything to keep them quiet.

We make it easily through Atlanta and I fall asleep. After about 200 miles of travel, we stop at Chick Fil A to get breakfast. It is now approximately 9:30.

We go in and the kids run straight for the play area. DH starts to tell them to come back to eat. No - I say. Let them play, we'll actually get to eat in peace. They can eat in the car.

Well, have you been to Chick Fil A lately? There are mint cookie milk shake ads everywhere.
Me: That milkshake looks good. Too bad it's so early.
DH: You should get one. We're on vacation.
Me: No, too early.
DH: We're on vacation. Anything goes.
Me: No, too early. Okay, go get me one.
(Screams of joy when he returns because it is sooooo good!)
DH: This sure is nice
Me: It sure is. You mean because I got to have a milkshake for breakfast, right?
DH rolling eyes: No, eating without the kids bothering us.

By the way - more screaming in the play area. Everytime DH or I check on DD2 and DS6, DD2 screams at this little girl just because she looks at us. "MY MOMMY! MY DADDY!"

DD2: I want Ba, Ba, Ba
Me: We don't have that in this car baby.
DD2: I want Ba, Ba, Ba
Me now ignoring her and screaming in my head.

DD2: I want Ba, Ba, Ba

Me still ignoring, DH still ignoring

DD2 decides she will just sing it herself. So here she goes - just as plain as day, singing "Bye, Bye, Bye" over and over again. The Ba, Ba, Ba is miraculously pronounced properly.

I will spare you all the details, but this went on for another 100 miles. Not exagerating. She took a couple of short breaks, but kept going.

And during all this, DH took a seat in the back to watch a movie and snooze a little. I am now driving. Every time DH starts to doze off, DD2, tries to kick him or hit him. She's driving us all crazy and now DH is spelling B-R-A-T:rotfl2:

I say next time she is staying home or we'll have to fly.

OMG!!! Ba, ba, ba!!! That is sooooo funny!

When DS was younger, there was some song...I don't know who sang it or what it was called...but it went something like this...

'I'm blue...labadelabada...labadelabada...etc...etc...'

Yea...hours and hours on the highway!

483 miles and we finally make it to Orlando without killing anyone. But lots of screams. Me screaming, DH screaming, DS screaming, DD screaming. Somebody give me a Percocet!

First stop - Outlet center. We buy a new pin bag, I can't remember what else. I just know I didn't get anything, except screams of joy since I am no longer trapped in the car with a 2 year old and 6 year old.

I am relentless over the crocs. We stopped at the mall and went into Outdoor World. I tried on pair of the flip flop crocs, but didn't have a color I wanted. Plus, the thong between the toes hurts me and I forgot to bring my Body Glide. Can you believe they don't sell Body Glide?

As we drive through DTD, I tell the kids to practice their Lime Look. DD shakes his head and he says, "You're going to write about all this on your disboards, aren't you?"
"Who me? Noooooooooooo."

DS6 informs me he wants to be referred to as Hamster on the disboards.:confused3

I will explain the hamster thing. DS6 is contstantly telling me he wants a pet. He asks for everything - bunny, horse, dog, cat, frog, etc. He has a pet - a dog, but apparantly she does not count because she can not fetch. She is 12 years old. Most recently he has been asking for a hamster. (For some reason, on this particular trip, he starts asking for a lizard and even asks if he catches one, can he carry it in his shoe and take it back to the hotel. DH quickly says no and tells him no lizard would survive with this family.:confused3 Maybe we should call him Lizard Boy):offtopic:

Hang in here with me. Things will get better, I promise.
Coming up.....
What wild antics is Freddie up to on this trip?
Does Freddie meet a celeb?
Does Freddie get lost?
Do we have to buy a Freddie, JR?

Stay tuned.................

OMG your posts are so funny, I'm so pleased we have a long plane journey instead of the car! When DD was little she would sing baa baa black sheep but couldn't pronounce sheep and said the s with hit afterwards and of course sang this as loud as she could in all the best places

We will be driving too:scared: Mine will want oooo aaaaaa oooo aaaaa (The Laurie Berkner Band). We bought the dvd, and it came with a cd. It only has 5 songs on it, one is a dinosaur song so the kids growl through the whole thing:headache: Or they will want the Wiggles, we have a few of their cd's. I am hoping we can just put on the dvd player (we bought headphones for it :)) Then DH and I can listen to what ever we want :cloud9:

How were the outlets? We plan on heading there our first day. Was there anything good? :) jen

I am so enjoying your trip report:thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading more.
We will be driving to Disney in Mid June with my 3 who are 12, 7 and 2 1/2...My youngest has never been on a road trip, I can only imagine what will be coming out of her mouth for the 13 hr trip:scared1:

I did not mention that after she gave up on the singing, she said "Mommy" every 2 minutes. I would ask "What", she would say "Heyyyyy" in a very Southern drawl.

We always stop at the outlets on our way in. There are actually 2, used to be 3. Sometimes we stop at both, but this time we only stopped at 1. Sometimes they have things there that are still in the parks - but not many things. They have a tinkerbell lanyard with 4 pins on it that they had in the parks, but was half off at the outlet. DH saw a shirt he liked there for $25 and later saw it at the parks for $40 - it was in a different color, though. Yes, they have good deals and it is worth the stop. I do find that in the ladies shirts, they have a lot more small and medium sizes.

The two stores usually have mostly the same stuff.

Also for pins - they have pins for $3.99 and $4.99, sometimes cheaper, but not this trip.

Can't wait to read more!
Is Freddy lost?
I hope it isn't "Ba Ba Freddie"
