The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

Well it seems that we've chosen a hot weekend! Hershey Park has announced that Saturday, August 14th there will be a Jonas Brothers/Demi Lovato concert, and tickets are on sale for $10 this weekend.

I have purchased tickets for my family as my girls would love to see this concert, and I was thisclose to paying $250 for three of us to go see them at Jones Beach next month.

I'm thinking this concert info won't impact the great majority of people who will be coming for the weekend, but, the information is now out there in case someone is interested.

Hi Andrea,

Yipes:confused3... that should add a few people to the park.

I probably will be booking the hotel next week...

Still looking at the best way to get tickets... AAA or look for the grocery store... I do think I saw a $8.00 discount coupon online. I will look for the code again.

Now as far as the concert goes....:scared1: not sold on that yet... if the group decides it's a go... then???

We/I have decided against going. Shhh, don't tell Emma, LOL! Looks like long lines until 6ish when everyone leaves for the concert. Get there early!

Mark AAA is a $42.95 discounted price which is better than the $8 discount. Not by much but better.

:scratchin Trying to decide if I now want to get the $43.95 deal with concert tickets posted by Jen and Andrea. I wouldn't go to the concert but it's the same price as AAA for both tickets and I could just give the concert tix away.

Worried though that I can't find anything official other than the $10 grandstand concert tix. I'd be worried they wouldn't sell me the $33.95 park ticket when I got there.

George,

Do you think the special $33.95 ticket would also allow you entry the evening before (after whatever time it is)... like the normal ticket does?

AAA - do you have to call them? When I log in to their website I have not found this ticket... will look again now.

I called our local AAA office. It was not listed on the website.

I would hope the park ticket would allow you in for the preview on Friday night.

I'll try to call Hershey Park today for an answer but work is getting in the way right now. :headache:

The link I provided says...

Yes, you are still able to the the "preview" night too.

Hope that answers your questions. :)

Hi Mark - the concert isn't a group thing, just a freakish coincidence. I couldn't in good conscience not take my girls to the concert. I woudn't subject anyone else to that torture, errr... entertainment.

I'm sure, as Jen says, the parks will be completley empty concert time as the throngs of crazy people are watching the Jonas Brothers, myself included.

Which is why I am completely torn in two.

On one hand, concert with the Jo Bros.....on the other, empty amusement park.

Good thinking George, but are the concert tickets a seperate ticket than the park entry ticket?
I'm sure those tickets would be worth more than $10 the day of for all those that missed this weekends sale.
Not condoning scalping tickets of course...:littleangel:

It was a really hard decision to NOT go to the concert. We have a family party on Sunday and we were not planning on spending the night. If we did the concert, we would need 2 cars, or a hotel and dog sitter. It was making more work for us.

Not scalping....just bribing tweens and teens to leave and go to the concert...a public service....

I guess this answers the seperate ticket thingy.

Hmmmmmm.......:scratchin

Yes, they are a separate ticket.:rolleyes1

I didn't know you were really interested in coming to the concert!!!! I would have bought more tickets when I purchased mine so there would be seats next to each other :headache:

As for re-selling the tickets - I'm not too sure as to the "value" of the tickets. I'm pretty sure the seats are the furtherest imaginable from the stage... For $10 a ticket, I wouldn't be surprised if they give me a 1 legged stool and sat me in a corner.

True, $10 seems a little low, but to a screaming Jonas Bros fan, getting in is all they want, one legged stool or not.
Even if you were to take a loss at $8 or $5, it is still a $35-38 park ticket instead of $43 (plus taxes of course) from AAA.
And personally, I/we are there for the park and the other DISers company, not for a concert.
If I lived close to Hershey, it may be a different story, but I doubt I will be back there anytime soon.
Up until concert time, it may be a little crowded, but after 5 or 6pm, things may be way better.
That is, until the concert lets out, then watch out, screaming teenybopper city!
