I've always had them both so they balance each other I think. Announcers in general are usually corny in my opinion so she's fine, keeps me excited and that's what counts.

That's neat, I didn't even realize it would be 10th for coast to coast. I'm not really sad I won't be getting it though as I've done it once which is good for the time being.

At W&D I thought of you because Carissa would be talking about DL races and Rudy would interject with, "That sounds nice." Or "I'm sure that's a lot of fun." He was getting his little digs in but not in an obvious way.

@Anisum, it was from marathon weekend two years ago. My husband was on a bus to see us finish and the bus driver had no clue where to go. A lot of people missed seeing family members finish because it ended up taking them an hour to get from animal kingdom lodge to Epcot.

As the one who started this, I'll clarify too. I love being helpful and I think most folks on here do, as well. However, I find it frustrating to see the same questions asked over and over again for information that is readily available either through official channels or a quick search of this forum. If you honestly can't find information and are stumped, by all means ask. But don't expect the folks on this board to be your Google.

I am currently bracing myself for the absolute flood of "How do I get my pictures in my PhotoPass?" questions that are about to descend on the forum along with Marathon Weekend. Hint: Instructions are on the back of the bib that you are linking and in the event guide you didn't read.

Maybe I'm just Grumpy today.

I had one of my silly running fantasies come true last night. You know those automated "Your Speed" radar detectors they have in school zones to make you aware of just how fast you're driving? Well... I've kinda always wanted to register on one as a runner.

This week they put up a couple in my neighborhood and I guess they've got the sensitivity on them set a tad too high. Running down the street during my training run I showed up on it! It was only 5 and 6 mph but I was fast enough to show up on radar!

Isn't that cool. I did the same thing this summer and had fun trying to increase my "speed checked by radar."

Carissa was the lead announcer at both Tink and DLH his year, and she was insufferable to bordering on obnoxious.

For the Half, she couldn't stop asking about the people shooting for a Half time that started with a 1 - those were her people!! They're the best!! And then, about three corrals in, she mercifully left the rest of us waiting to start because she had to go "get ready to see the fast runners finish!".

Seriously. She needs a script or needs to just shut up sometimes.

Now that I got that out of the way I am probably going to embarrass myself here. I thought your wife was already pregnant. When you were planning your most recent trip, that you just got back from, weren't you talking about how she would be pregnant,and uncomfortable, on that trip or am I having a blonde moment here?

YDOTD: I am not a huge holiday person. My family wasn't the nicest group of people and I remember being yelled at more than usual on birthdays and holidays so they ruined them for me. However, I do have a nice memory to add, assuming New Year's Eve counts as a holiday. My 2nd child's birthday is New Year's Eve. She was born right after the clock changed. She could have been born on 12/30 but we asked the doctor if we could delay the pushing (We, like I had anything to do with it ) so she could be born on 12/31. Just figured if she was stuck with a winter birthday so close to Christmas, might as well make it New Year's Eve at least.

QOTD- So many good answers. What bothers me about runDisney:

1. Price Increase
2. POT doesn't matter anymore
3. Medal even when swept
4. No more night races
5. No deferral anymore
6. Give us your money sooner

Oh, BTW. There was talk about the same questions being asked over and over. I honestly don't mind it. When I first started running I did searches and couldn't find squat. I think that was back before they changed the site, but if it wasn't for PrincessV, John, Bumbershoot, and a few others on that ToT thread I would have been so lost.

So, I just try to put myself in the position of the person new to running. It is a scary thing to start and try and change your life and if I have to answer a question again, oh well. There are worse things in the world. Worst thing that could happen is someone might think I am smart.

What exactly was the reason they got rid of Rudy for the DL races?I mean I don't know a Run Disney race without him,his voice is just iconic for a race at Disney.
